Equine Health & Emergency First Aid
Our most comprehensive, and popular, course! Join us for a one day course covering: what your vet needs to know, conditioning a horse to accept treatment, taking vital signs, dealing with lacerations, punctures, colic, choke, collapse, casting, shock, hoof issues, recognizing pain in the horse and pain source identification, injury prevention and so much more! All attendees receive a certificate of completion and first aid manual.

Join us for a one day advanced equine emergency first aid course and learn what to do in the most extreme situations! Covering everything from lacerations to poison, burns to bites, fractures to sucking chest wounds, this course prepares the student to handle the most serious injuries while waiting for the vet. Monthly dinner gathering will be at Los Cabos on February 27, 2024 at 6:30 pm. Kari won the basket, so she will bring it to this dinner. We decided to donate a buckle for the Sweetwater Ranch Sort Club, and also for the Wild West Outlaws gymkhana 40 and over age group. Slush fund is $492.00. before the deduction for buckles.

FCSC Annual Tack Swap. We will have indoor vendors on two floors of our clubhouse and outside spaces available. More information to follow. Sign ups should be available at the end of December. Mark your calendars!
The FCSC Annual Tack Swap has been set for Saturday, March 9th. They will be using the same format as last year with both inside and outside spots available to rent. First space is $25 and extra spaces can be added at $15 each. This allows for social distancing and was a big help to the success of last year’s event. ABOUT THE VENUE
Franklin County Saddle Club has lighted arenas, onsite trail course, wash rack, indoor stalls, 24 RV campsites as well as dry campsites, bathhouse with showers.
Easy access from I-82, local accommodations shopping, and restaurants nearby.
EVENT DETAILS
We hope you’ll join us at the beautiful Franklin County Saddle Club for a fun weekend!
- Friday afternoon, the show office will be available for early check in.
- Saturday morning we will have an In Hand (IH) – a dismounted event in an arena/field, halter and lead rope preferred. All equines welcome – any size, breed, and age.
- Saturday afternoon we will have a Obstacle Course (OC) – a mounted event in an arena/field. A saddle (treeless included) and headstall with reins are required. All riding disciplines are welcome.
- Saturday night, we hope you’ll join us for a fun potluck. The Saddle Club will supply the main dish, please bring a favorite side dish or dessert.
- On Sunday, we will have an Obstacle Course (OC) – a mounted event in an arena/field. A saddle (treeless included) and headstall with reins are required. All riding disciplines are welcome.
THE TERRAIN
Excellent dirt footing in all arenas, Onsite trail course is dirt with wood chips some light gravel in areas.
MEALS
Meals are on your own. There are several restaurants nearby and delivery services such as Uber Eats and Door Dash that will deliver to the Saddle Club.
We are also looking on getting food onsite. Competitors will be updated closer to the event. On Saturday, there will be a potluck. We hope you’ll join us.

Beautiful ribbons 1st-6th place Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced! 1st-3rd place Junior (age 13-17), 1st-3rd place Youngin’ (age 7-12), and 1st place Newcomer!

From Oregon: Take 395 North to Pasco. Take the Court Street exit, turning left on Court. Proceed a few miles to Road 60. Turn right. Saddle Club will be on the right side. Please use the entrance by the Equine Trail Sports sign.

3-4 days prior to date of event one of our cowgirls will call you to collect the remaining $10 prior to the date of event then your good to go on the guest list…Spaces are limited to 20 horses /day so we do offer a cancellation list and waiting list for our next rides to be offered to those on a first come serve basis. Many really want the chance to ride the shoreline horseback and or just enjoy seeing them even interacting with them.
