Equine Health & Emergency First Aid
Our most comprehensive, and popular, course! Join us for a one day course covering: what your vet needs to know, conditioning a horse to accept treatment, taking vital signs, dealing with lacerations, punctures, colic, choke, collapse, casting, shock, hoof issues, recognizing pain in the horse and pain source identification, injury prevention and so much more! Covering everything from lacerations to poison, burns to bites, fractures to sucking chest wounds, this course prepares the student to handle the most serious injuries while waiting for the vet. Graham TX chapter is participating in the grand entry for the 11:00 am FWSSR rodeo performance. We are allowed 5 trailer spaces for our participants. Official parade gear, negative Coggins and health certificate required. Be ready for the police escort to the arena at 10:00 am.

Bring Neg. coggins and bring a friend. great way to knock the dust off the saddle & leg up that horse or just sit and watch – go at your own speed no pressure no rush .

CWC will be hosting practice sessions on each Saturday before the show on Sunday. Youth and adult divisions include Ranch Trail, Ranch Riding, Reining, and Working Cow Horse. Competitors can enter one class or all classes in their division and have a chance to win Ranch Horse All Around Awards.

With all the weather at we know these trails are still ridable! Trail Ride on the Trinity River. Park at the trailer parking next to Billy Bob’s. Ride out at 11 AM.
CSSHA holds Sunday afternoon practices with cattle twice a month at Lander’s LOTRA indoor arena this winter. Take advantage of practicing with cattle and a CowTrac flag for herdwork and cow horse experience from 1:00-4:00 Sunday afternoons on the Sundays listed below. (Sorry, but no roping.) If you are a member of LOTRA and CSSHA, the practice is free. If you are not a member of the LOTRA arena, it’s only $30 per person for all afternoon! (No practice if it’s zero degrees or lower on that day!) Annual LOTRA arena memberships are available at https://lotra.org.

Bring a Dessert for the Silent Auction to help raise funds for our next Christmas Party
Volunteer Services for Hot Mess Horse and Animal Rescue – Cowgirls have been asked to assist with fencing and animal care. We are meeting at the rescue on Old Murphy Road. All materials are on site for the fence repair, which is needed to separate the horses from the cows, goats, and alpacas. Laura Thornton has offered to pay and declined payment since earning and fundraising for horse rescues is very difficult. We are honored to show cowgirl generosity and compassion to the owner and these deserving animals. We welcome cowgirls and their families to donate time and services to this amazing rescue in the heart of our community

Trail ride at the back side of Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest, exploring new areas and trails. Lady Splipper and Lake Russell trails are nestled amongst the beautiful foothills of Northeast Georgia. Meeting at the end of the road of Cannon Rd, which is just past Frady Branch Equine main trail parking.
This is also our monthly meeting. 6pm at the Riverton Country Club. I will announce our chapter awards and there will be raffles and silent auctions. We choose from menu items for dinner and everyone is responsible for paying for their own meals. Please RSVP to Marillyn by February 18th. You are welcome to bring family and friends!
