Join our Marvelous Mavericks riding the trails around the lake at Abilene State Park.
Check in at the office to show proof of negative coggins, and pay the $5/person park entrance fee.
Make a U-turn around the office and go back out to the highway. Go Left for 1 mile. Lake entrance is on the right. We park near the swimming area or in the first boat ramp parking lot.
The trail is a 2 hour ride. Bathrooms are close to parking. Yes, there are areas where you can water your horse.

We have added a MUSTANG group!    We have continued the walk trot division.

Shoes recommended on Ga side, trails are easy to moderate difficulty.

ABOUT THE VENUE

Umatilla Sage Riders is conveniently located on Hwy 395 near Hermiston, Oregon close to the majestic Columbia River and the site of the Lewis and Clark Trail. Umatilla Sage Riders has a clubhouse, arena and trail course on site. Dry camping is available and you may bring your own pen or containment system.

The clubhouse kitchen will be open for light breakfast items and lunch.

A potluck is planned for Saturday evening.

EVENT DETAILS

Friday evening will be a fun Extreme Cowboy Trail Challenge sponsored by Umatilla Sage Riders. It will be set up so everyone will enjoy the competition. This is not an Equine Trail Sports event and scores will not go towards National or Regional events.

Saturday Obstacle Course (OC) – a mounted event in an arena/field. A saddle (treeless included) and headstall with reins are required. All riding disciplines are welcome.

Sunday In Hand (IH) – a dismounted event in an arena/field, halter and lead rope preferred. All equines welcome – any size, breed, and age.

Payment for ALL Amenities reserved at the time of online registration are due ON SITE and are NOT collected at the time of online registration. There will be a $10 a day haul in fee for anyone not camping.

Franklin cowgirls meet at Ingles in Clayton at 9am,   and Georgia & SC Cowgirls meet at 10:30  at forest 92E – come in on Cannon Road off Hwy 80  turn right on first forest road on right  go down turn around on loop and line up heading outward for pairking,

Secret Waterfall trail is outside the borders of the Chattahoochee – Oconee National Forest on private land which they allow hiking and horse back riding out to enjoy the beautiful beach and waterfall. We have to pack in our lunch and drinks, and pack them back out. We wil have lunch and a picnic, play in the water and swim with our horses, so bring a sheet to put down to place your tack on it to avoid getting covered in sand. Bring shorts and bathing suits and water shoes.  Dogs are allowed on these trails.  Also bring horse snacks and doggie snacks.

This will be a 2-hour ride. You will need to bring your own horse and show your Coggins. We’ll meet and unload at the swimming area parking lot.

Franklin, NC – Tunnel RD – Bear Creek trail up to Welch Ridge trail Ride

GSMNP – Meet at the paved parking area before the tunnel parking area at 10 am. Must have yearly or daily GSMNP parking pass. We will ride out White Oak and connect up to Bear Creek Trail, ride to the top and intersect with Welch Ridge trail, eat lunch, and either follow around to Forney Creek or return down Bear Creek. Bring plenty of water, food, and horsey snacks. No trail dogs allowed
