Greetings! Our First Meeting for our new Rochester, WA Chapter!
Come meet and greet and see what we are all about. I can’t wait to see you all. There is no cost to meet at Figaro’s but I will purchase a couple of pizzas. Maybe show support of a wonderful local business with the purchase of a soda, but do not feel obligated. 🙂
I will post a zoom meeting link on our Facebook page and attempt to provide an online option if that will help for people to be able to attend.
Contact me with any questions!
Monthly meeting. 50/50 raffle
Ok ladies, we had to reschedule due to illness, but same place, same time, different bat day! 🙂
Come join us as our new chapter gets its feet off the ground! Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Cowgirl Traci will host the chapter for another weekend of camping and riding. Members only event. Message us for location information.
Come join us for a fun day of being introduced to Competitive Mounted Orienteering! Kathy is very graciously donating her expertise and time to help us gain a peek into this fun event!
There will be a 2 hour basic reading, navigating, etc.
Short lunch break
Then we saddle up and head out into the woods to navigate and find 4 plates!
What to bring: Your own lunch, drink and a horse. Yeehaw!
Kathy wants to provide us insight into this fun sport. You can ride as a team or individually and compete through the year if you desire.
Please do RSVP by June 30th to Kathy so she will have a head count. Currently, there is no limit to the number of riders, but as she gets an idea of how long the list may be, there may be a waitlist needed. So check in with her early!
You may also reach out to me, Kasey Omon, by text 360-561-3773 and I can get you in touch with Kathy also.
Hello Ladies! Our SECOND round up!!
I’m going to put together an agenda (in all my spare time lol) But we are having this at Figaro’s in Grand Mound again (Rochester).
Let us know if you can make it! There is a facebook event that you can find on out chapter page. Check there for updates also.
Things to think about for the meeting…what do you want to see happen in our chapter, how can you contribute? What events might you like to see added to the calendar and can you commit to rounding up cowgirls on a roster for your events?
Looking forward to seeing you all!!

Please join us for our July roundup.
Hello! Rochester Chapter is putting on a small Trail Ride, starting a bit early to beat the heat just in case it is hot.
We will meet at the equestrian parking lot (the north lot of the two parking areas on the West side of Case Road. See directions below). A Discover Pass is required and must be displayed on your dash. Please do not leave valuables in your vehicle or trailer.
An equipment safety check will be conducted prior to taking off, and helmets are strongly encouraged, but I will also check with Cowgirls HQ if they are required or not for a cowgirl organized ride. 🙂
This will be a walking only trail ride, and shorter for those of use whose horses (or riders!) may not be as conditioned.
Please keep in mind, following the cowgirl (and true horsemanship feel) we will start as a group and end as a group and leave no one behind. 🙂
Directions:
From the north, take I-5 South to exit 95. Keep left at the fork to continue onto Maytown Road SW (follow signs for Littlerock). Turn left onto Case Road SW. There are two parking lots. The first one you come to after the Scatter Creek Stables is used primarily by horse riders with their trailers. The second parking lot, a bit down the road, is for cars only. A Discover Pass is required to park at both lots.
Come join us for a little fellowship together as we seek to grow closer to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
Join us as we study through the book of Philippians currently. Non-denominational Christian group, but I do come from a Pentecostal background. 🙂
Want to know more about Jesus? Want fellowship with a few like minded gals? It is a small, very casual, very come as you are group. We would love to have you join us! We hope to do this once a month!
Camp out and ride the beach! Dry camping – $30.00 per rig per night
Camping w/power – $35.00 per rig per night
Outside corrals per night or day use or your own corrals – $15.00 per horse. (You clean & feed.)
Barn Stalls – $35.00 per horse per night
(Bring your own bedding, you clean and feed.)
Rooms are also available in the B&B for $150 per night..
Pay on arrival-cash only!!
Come hang out at my house for a Potluck Meeting! Just do not mind the chaos of a very busy family home and lots of unfinished projects lying around and we will do great! LOL
On the Facebook event on our 40SC Rochester page, there is a comment with a Poll that you can indicate what you would like to bring if you plan on attending. But do not feel pressured to bring anything, we want you to show up even if you cannot bring anything! 🙂
I’m looking forward to seeing you all and hanging out!!!

Our chapter is helping with Rodeo parking on Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1st.
This is a fundraiser for our chapter!
We need a minimum of 6 people each day (on horse or on foot). This is a rain or shine commitment. If you commit to helping, please follow through.
You need to be ready to go by 9 AM each day. The rodeo gates open at noon and the show starts at 1:30 both days.
Each participant will receive a ticket for entry to the rodeo and a ticket for lunch.
Please wear a 40SC shirt if you can. If you don’t have a 40SC shirt, a pink shirt will be fine.
We are also inviting our neighboring chapters to help.
Let’s go have some cowgirl fun and get those cars parked!
C.M.O. is “competitive” because you compete, as an individual or a team, against other riders to find all of the hidden objective stations. This is a timed event and you compete for a placing for that ride. The points you and your horse earn add up towards year-end placing and lifetime points with the National Association of Competitive Mounted Orienteering (N.A.C.M.O.) and your State organization.
The “mounted” part of the name is because the game is played on horseback. In theory, you shouldn’t have to ever get off the horse as each objective station should be visible from horseback.
And, finally, “orienteering” because you must be able to orient your self on a provided map and find your way around the course. The use of a map and compass, navigating your way around the designated course, identifying landmarks and finding the objective stations is what orienteering is all about.
What C.M.O. is NOT, is an endurance or competitive riding race. In those sports, you follow a set course for a set distance and try to make the best time of all the competitors while getting a good “health” reading for your horse.
In C.M.O. you use your map to pick your route to find all the objective stations following whatever route you think is best to get around the course. Ingenuity, strategy and creativity are all useful.
Like endurance or competitive riding, however, the longer courses can cover many miles over all types of terrain. Common sense says you should have your horse in good shape and conditioned if you plan on riding long distances.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO RIDE A C.M.O.?
First you need a horse. It is, after all, a mounted sport. Any type of equine is allowed. Mules, ponies, show horses, horses off the track and backyard pets are welcome. Â Your horse must be at least three years old to compete.
You will also need a compass, small writing pad and pencil.
Other suggested items would be weather appropriate clothing, water, first aid supplies, lunch, and horse water and feed. Not all areas where rides are sponsored have potable water or water for your horse.
Contact Kathy Davis for exact location and details!
Finally, we will ride a complete Ranch Riding pattern to put what we learned into practice.
Cost is $125 for cowgirls; $150 for others. Cash or checks only made payable to Lori Hadley. PM Lori for payment details. Haul in is included.
Must pay in advance. No refunds. Deadline for cowgirls is Sept. 5. Then any available spots will open to non-members.

22222222222222222222222222222222222Let’s gather up at Kathy Richardson’s Rusty Bar Ranch for our October meeting. Bring a dish to share and we will eat, talk, and plan future events. Then, for those of you who want to try out her new obstacle course, we can saddle up and play for only $10 per horse! If you prefer not to bring a horse, that is great too. Just come for food and conversation. I am so excited to see you all and try out some obstacles!
Kathy has an enclosed arena, and fully covered round pen which will have obstacles too. So, we will be dry regardless of the weather.
6 Team Penning Practice dates between November and April. Practice cost is $75 per rider plus an optional $5 jackpot at each practice. Jackpot Run is drawn partners with pot going to the winning team.
Our practices are limited in riders! 63 fresh cattle each practice. If you don’t have a partner, we have one for you! Our goal is to give you the maximum time on cattle without a lot of waiting around. By taking a spot in a practice you agree to pay for your place even if you have to cancel. This is the only way we can continue to offer practices with small groups and great cattle.
