Equine Health & Emergency First Aid
Our most comprehensive, and popular, course! Join us for a one day course covering: what your vet needs to know, conditioning a horse to accept treatment, taking vital signs, dealing with lacerations, punctures, colic, choke, collapse, casting, shock, hoof issues, recognizing pain in the horse and pain source identification, injury prevention and so much more! All attendees receive a certificate of completion and first aid manual.

Advanced Emergency First Aid/ Wilderness Edition or Indoor Edition
Join us for a one day advanced equine emergency first aid course and learn what to do in the most extreme situations! Covering everything from lacerations to poison, burns to bites, fractures to sucking chest wounds, this course prepares the student to handle the most serious injuries while waiting for the vet. We will also cover horse assessment, conformation, and conditioning for activities. $159.00
If you take this course in combination with “Equine Health & Emergency First Aid” , the discounted package price is $295 for both courses.

1/15/24 Update: Since we had to reschedule the January 13, 2024 FYFS and Browband Workshops to January 27, 2024, Cowgirl Liz has offered to host our January meeting at her house in conjunction with the other events. Our January meeting will be held at 12:30. Immediately following the meeting will be the FYFS workshop and then, browband making.
Please email for location and additional information. This meeting will be held at a private residence, and we will not be publicly posting the address.
Due to weather, this event has been rescheduled from 1/13/24 to 1/27/24.
One of our cowgirls is hosting a equitation workshop at 1 PM at her private residence. At 3 PM, the same member will host a browband making workshop. Space available for 6-10 participants. Cost is about $10 for leather, plus any bling you would like to add.

Join our Marvelous Mavericks riding the trails around the lake at Abilene State Park.
Check in at the office to show proof of negative coggins, and pay the $5/person park entrance fee.
Make a U-turn around the office and go back out to the highway. Go Left for 1 mile. Lake entrance is on the right. We park near the swimming area or in the first boat ramp parking lot.
The trail is a 2 hour ride. Bathrooms are close to parking. Yes, there are areas where you can water your horse.

FCSC Annual Tack Swap. We will have indoor vendors on two floors of our clubhouse and outside spaces available. More information to follow. Sign ups should be available at the end of December. Mark your calendars!
The FCSC Annual Tack Swap has been set for Saturday, March 9th. They will be using the same format as last year with both inside and outside spots available to rent. First space is $25 and extra spaces can be added at $15 each. This allows for social distancing and was a big help to the success of last year’s event. Rendezvous is a state sponsored event put on by Back Country Horsemen of Washington that is open to the public. This is a non-riding event. We offer educational classes, shopping, social and informative events and seminars. There are no fees for anything other than the Saturday nights catered dinner and the on-site camping. Rocking RJ Ranch – Stephenville: Ribbons, Cows and Fun and good food!!First show is March 16. There will be a cow practice on Friday starting at 4. Bring your trainer or just practice following a cow. Each cow is $20.
