Kick summer off with an evening of rodeo action. From the classic event of bareback riding, saddle bronc, the fan favorite of bull riding, the pretty gals and fast horses of barrel racing and all the timed events as well.
Gates open at 6pm and rodeo action kicks off at 7pm.
Enjoy rodeo action at the professional level at the Red Desert Roundup PRCA Rodeo.

The $35 ticket includes: 2.5 hours of painting, a 16×20 stretched canvas to take home, your own easel to your on, paint, brushes, and aprons. CWC will be hosting practice sessions on each Saturday before the show on Sunday. Youth and adult divisions include Ranch Trail, Ranch Riding, Reining, and Working Cow Horse. Competitors can enter one class or all classes in their division and have a chance to win Ranch Horse All Around Awards.

During the break, they will run a 50/50 and do Queen of Hearts. Everyone can play the 50/50 but only members can play the Queen of Hearts.

Kimberlee Barker is a Masters Level Working Equitation and USDF Grand Prix Dressage rider, trainer, and competitor. Kimberlee is a recognized Working Equitation Coach in USAWE’s Coaches Network, has earned her USAWE Pewter, Bronze, Silver, and Platinum Medals. Kimberlee is currently only the third person in the U.S. to have earned a Platinum Medal and the first to earn it with the new stricter requirements through USAWE. A graduate with distinction of the USDF “L” Judge Education Program, Kimberlee has earned her USDF Bronze and Silver Medals and has nearly completed her Gold.

CSSHA holds Sunday afternoon practices with cattle twice a month at Lander’s LOTRA indoor arena this winter. Take advantage of practicing with cattle and a CowTrac flag for herdwork and cow horse experience from 1:00-4:00 Sunday afternoons on the Sundays listed below. (Sorry, but no roping.) If you are a member of LOTRA and CSSHA, the practice is free. If you are not a member of the LOTRA arena, it’s only $30 per person for all afternoon! (No practice if it’s zero degrees or lower on that day!) Annual LOTRA arena memberships are available at https://lotra.org.

This is also our monthly meeting. 6pm at the Riverton Country Club. I will announce our chapter awards and there will be raffles and silent auctions. We will be helping a cattle rancher move cattle at Mildred Kanipe. Please be ready to ride by 10 AM ..bring a snack and drink.
Come help gather the cows at Mildred Kanipe Park. Sam Campbell will be there to help organize the gather. Boots in the stirrup at 10am, so arrive early to tack up and warm up your horse if needed. A trail ride after for those that would like to participate.
Join our Marvelous Mavericks riding the trails around the lake at Abilene State Park.
Check in at the office to show proof of negative coggins, and pay the $5/person park entrance fee.
Make a U-turn around the office and go back out to the highway. Go Left for 1 mile. Lake entrance is on the right. We park near the swimming area or in the first boat ramp parking lot.
The trail is a 2 hour ride. Bathrooms are close to parking. Yes, there are areas where you can water your horse.
