Our Charlie Elliott ride got rained out for Sat (Jan 6th), so we will be riding on Sunday at Dauset Trails at 2:30. Hope all can make it. Hopefully, it won’t be too wet as trail tends to dry pretty quickly there.
We will be participating in the Rocket Donkey Productions Barrel Race in Clovis, NM. Come join us or cheer our Cowgirls on.

Bring out the horses and lets kick off this season in a fun way. We host monthly practice events. You can practice traditional clover-leaf barrels, poles, and any play day event you can think of. We enjoy several hours of arena riding and fun.

We will be attending the Connie Combs Barrel Clinic at the Mallet Arena in Levelland Tx. This is an amazing opportunity to learn from one of the industry’s best barrel racers.

The Yamhill county sheriff’s posse always puts on a great fun night with barrels and poles and multiple other games
Come join us at the first NBHA race held in Tx05 district. Its gonna be a fun 2 day event.

Come join us at the Ocmulgee Bluffs for a much-needed ride on Saturday, Feb 3rd at 11:00. We’ve had so many cancellations and rescheduled rides – that it’s going to be good to get back out on the trails again!
This area is a beautiful place to ride. Directions are as follows:
From Forsyth take Highway 83 north east towards Monticello. Will cross the Ocmulgee River, and a few miles down, will go past the Enon Baptist Church on your left. Will see a big Ocmulgee Bluffs sign on your right where you turn left onto Smith Mill Rd after seeing the sign. There is a black horse sign with the words Saddle Horse Club written on it on your left as you turn in. Road is not in the best of shape and narrow, so take it nice and slow. After 2-3 ? miles, you’ll see the Saddle Horse Campground on your right and on your left, will be the entrance to the Bluffs where you pay and can park.

The Wind River Back Country Horsemen are having their monthly chapter meeting. Come learn about trail clearing projects, the state rendezvous, trail rides, and upcoming events!
Come on over to Mingo for a “sweetheart” weekend filled with fun, food, rides & of course love! Karaoke and Dancing on Friday night, “official” ride starting at 10:00 on Saturday morning, and Italian Supper Saturday night with dancing to a DJ. What a great way to spend a weekend with the ones you love – family, spouses, live-ins, friends, and of course your horses! Sounds like a lot of fun!!!!
No reservations, but first come – first serve.
Members: $20 gate fee & $10 hook up fee – Nonmembers: $25 gate fee & $15 hook up fee plus a paddock fee.

CSSHA holds Sunday afternoon practices with cattle twice a month at Lander’s LOTRA indoor arena this winter. Take advantage of practicing with cattle and a CowTrac flag for herdwork and cow horse experience from 1:00-4:00 Sunday afternoons on the Sundays listed below. (Sorry, but no roping.) If you are a member of LOTRA and CSSHA, the practice is free. If you are not a member of the LOTRA arena, it’s only $30 per person for all afternoon! (No practice if it’s zero degrees or lower on that day!) Annual LOTRA arena memberships are available at https://lotra.org.

Cowgirls it’s time for our February roundup meeting. Bring your ideas for up coming events, they can be horse or non horse.

Lets show our support for the St Paul Court by attending their coronation. Doors open at 7pm coronation starts at 8pm

Come join us on Feb 19th for a Monday afternoon ride at Maynard’s Mill at 2:30. It is such a beautiful farm filled with beautiful trails. Cost is $10. Please be aware there are still two bridges out of commission, but many other trails to choose from.
Looking forward to riding on this beautiful 5.6 multi-use trail at Charlie Elliott on Thursday, Feb 22 at 10:00. Trail is a good one – where most riders can ride side by side. If 5.6 miles isn’t quite enough time in the saddle, you are more than welcome to go around again! Plan on joining us and see for yourself what a beautiful place this is to enjoy with our horses.
Come ride the Molalla Corridor Saturday, we’ll be meeting in the parking area at Hardy Creek Trail Head at 10:30am.
This is also our monthly meeting. 6pm at the Riverton Country Club. I will announce our chapter awards and there will be raffles and silent auctions. We choose from menu items for dinner and everyone is responsible for paying for their own meals. Please RSVP to Marillyn by February 18th. You are welcome to bring family and friends!
We will be riding at 1099 (Part of Ocmulgee Bluffs) on Sunday, Feb 25 at 2:30. Directions to 1099 are as follows:
From Monticello, Ga take Hwy 83 south towards Forsyth. Travel approximately 12 1/2 miles. At mile marker #2, slow down. Note: mile markers are on the left side of the rod. At the top of the hill, just before mile marker #1, take the gravel road on the right. There are two metal posts at the entrance, but no sign. Will have our 40 Something Cowgirls Sign out by the road to help you know where to turn. Go 1 mile and you will see a State Park sign on the left where you can park your trailer. Camping is on the left side of the road as well.
From Forsyth, Ga (off I-75), take Hwy 83 North/East. Will reach a four-way stop at the intersection of Hwy 83 & Hwy 87. Stay on Hwy 83. Will cross some railroad tracks and the Ocmulgee River. Once crossed the River, Forest Service Rd 1099 is the first road on the left at the crest of the hill right before a curve. There are two metal posts at the entrance, but no sign. Will have our 40 Something Cowgirls Sign out by the road to help you know where to turn. Go 1 mile and you will see a State Park sign on the left where you can park your trailer. Camping is on the left side of the road as well.
From Jackson, Ga, take Highway 87/23 South and will come to a 4-way stop. Turn left on to Highway 83 heading East. Will cross some railroad tracks and the Ocmulgee River. Once crossed the River, Forest Service Rd 1099 is the first road on the left at the crest of the hill right before a curve. There are two metal posts at the entrance, but no sign. Will have our 40 Something Cowgirls Sign out by the road to help you know where to turn. Go 1 mile and you will see a State Park sign on the left where you can park your trailer. Camping is on the left side of the road as well.

Croft State Park Camp and Ride with the Kings Mountain NC Chapter from Mar 7-10th.
This park located in Spartanburg, SC is widely popular and is known around the region for its equestrian facilities. The park regularly hosts shows in its arena and boasts more than 20 miles of equestrian trails. Mostly flat trails, rocky and roots in some areas.

Annual Wine and Food Classic will have some of your returning favorites and some new producers, including 50+ of the regions best wineries, chefs, bakers, breweries, distilleries, artists, artisans and musicians. All proceeds go to support children’s education.
