Come join us at the Ocmulgee Bluffs for a Saturday morning ride beginning at 9:00 (Ride out time) on Sep 21st.
This area is a beautiful place to ride. Directions are as follows:
From Forsyth take Highway 83 north east towards Monticello. Will cross the Ocmulgee River, and a few miles down, will go past the Enon Baptist Church on your left. Will see a big Ocmulgee Bluffs sign on your right where you turn left onto Smith Mill Rd after seeing the sign. There is a black horse sign with the words Saddle Horse Club written on it on your left as you turn in. Road is not in the best of shape and narrow, so take it nice and slow. After 2-3 ? miles, you’ll see the Saddle Horse Campground on your right and on your left, will be the entrance to the Bluffs where you pay $5 and can park.
NOTE: If coming from Monticello on Highway 83 towards Forsyth heading West, you’ll see the black horse sign with the words Saddle Horse Club written on it on your right as you turn in. If you see the Enon Baptist Church on your right, you’ve gone too far. Probably best to turn around there in the parking lot and head back east where you will see the Ocmulgee Bluffs sign on your right and turn left on Smith Mill Rd.
If you haven’t joined us in a while, please come on out for a good day to ride with some wonderful cowgirls!
About a 3 hour trail ride in Quigley Canyon. Flyer to be sent to all current cowgirls.
Hickory Creek is a fun, fairly rugged ride. The area will be closed in Oct through Jan for hunting season. So this will be our last opportunity for awhile. You’ll need an OK hunting or fishing license to access their public lands. If you’re from TX & over 65, you’re exempt.
Come enjoy a Cowgirls Ride.
If you’ve never been you can check it out at https://www.perrydaletrails.com/
You will want to bring a Lunch!
Will be required to warm up your horse before riding.
Please let Marla know if you will be attending so she can let the facility know how many will be in attendance.
PLEASE NOTE: If you commit you will need to plan on attending. The facility may require a reservation fee as attendance has not been as planned in the past.
