Time to start riding, cowgirls! We have a team for the 2024 Virtual Tevis Cup ! To get on the roster, we need your name, current 40SC member number and the bib number assigned to you through the sign up link below, in addition to the total mileage ridden. If you do not have a horse, you can also participate by walking/ running the 100 miles.
You can screen shot the app with your mileage, in addition to the sign up response with your bib number. There will be one roster for this event!

Come join us for our May monthy round-up meeting, it will be at Queen Sharry’s house at 6:30pm on May 8th. We will be going over some St Paul volunteer information, we have some fun events coming up and Corporate has a special request for us. Our new 40 Something Cowgirl (volunteer) hats will be here soon. We would like to get a photo of the volunteers in their cute new hats, Corporate would like to see all your pretty faces.

Auditors welcome at $20 each. Carpooling encouraged due to parking limitations.
Maximum trailer size is 3-horse slant. No Shows will not be refunded. Bring your own lunch.
AM will cover basic dressage/flatwork foundation needed for WE and any discipline you ride. PM will cover select obstacles used in WE and proper way to execute them and how to link them together as when riding a course.
Oregon Equestrian Trail is putting a prize ride. First ride is at 10a.m last ride out is 1pm, silent auction is at 3pm, bring a lunch food not supplied. Gonna be a lot of fun hope that ya’ll can attend. Competition in best matching pairs, best dressed. Obstacle courses challenge.
Come join us on May 11th (Sat Mother’s Day Weekend Ride) at 10 (Ride Out Time) at Maynard’s Mill. It is such a beautiful farm filled with beautiful trails. Cost has gone up to $15 which you must leave in the barn before unloading. Always have proof of coggins in case it’s needed. Please be aware there are still two bridges out of commission, but many other trails to choose from.
Come join us, Saturday, May 4, 2024 on our Trail Ride. This beautiful ride is in the area of the historic
“Chisholm Trail” on the G-C Ranch. The ride starts at 10:00 A.M. sharp. Lunch is provided, drinks
will be furnished. Porta Privies will be available.
It is recommended the horses be shod for this ride.
Negative Coggins required-no exceptions. Cost is $30 for adults, $10 for students, and kids under 12 are free.
Event being held at private residence. Please message us for locaiton. Location has arena and several acres of trailes. Plan for some fun arena games.
We’ll discuss upcoming events (Rodeo Parking, Weekend at Traci’s, and Beach Trip) at this meeting.

Franklin cowgirls meet at Ingles in Clayton at 9am, and Georgia & SC Cowgirls meet at 10:30 at forest 92E – come in on Cannon Road off Hwy 80 turn right on first forest road on right go down turn around on loop and line up heading outward for pairking,
Secret Waterfall trail is outside the borders of the Chattahoochee – Oconee National Forest on private land which they allow hiking and horse back riding out to enjoy the beautiful beach and waterfall. We have to pack in our lunch and drinks, and pack them back out. We wil have lunch and a picnic, play in the water and swim with our horses, so bring a sheet to put down to place your tack on it to avoid getting covered in sand. Bring shorts and bathing suits and water shoes. Dogs are allowed on these trails. Also bring horse snacks and doggie snacks.
Jim welcomes both western & english riders. Whether your horse is under saddle or still in the ground work stages of training, Jim is very well versatile and knowledgeable.
Come prepared to answer the question, “What do you want to learn/work on?” Jim wants to help you with your goals and that is why he does one hour one-on-one sessions.
A one hour session with your horse is $160.
If you chose not to bring a horse there is a $25 per day audit fee. Clinic participants are welcome to audit all riders sessions at no additional charge.
Sessions start at 9am and go until 5pm, with a one hour lunch break from noon to 1pm.
Participants must prepay in advance to reserve their spot.
This is a trail challenge that will take approximately 2 1/2 hours with 10 to 15 mostly natural obstacles. Entry fee for judging and prizes is $50 each day, $30 to just do the ride. For further info and sign up information see Rockin’ RJ Facebook page

Green River 40 Something Cowgirl, Kari Moneyhun, has teamed up with Sara Lowe of Sagebrush Training to offer a two-day confidence clinic focusing on ranch and trail obstacles. These clinic are fun, encouraging, and full of laughter. Sagebrush Sara works on building each rider up and strengthening your relationship with your horse.
Cost is $400 for the two day clinic. Current 40 Something Cowgirl members get a 10% discount!

Please join us for a monthly ride. This ride will happen every 3rd Saturday of every month. We are in no hurry and on no schedule no agenda.
We will be riding at 1099 (Part of Ocmulgee Bluffs) on Saturday, May 18th at 10:00. Directions to 1099 are as follows:
From Monticello, Ga take Hwy 83 south towards Forsyth. Travel approximately 12 1/2 miles. At mile marker #2, slow down. Note: mile markers are on the left side of the road. At the top of the hill, just before mile marker #1, take the gravel road (Forest Service Rd 1099) on the right. There are two metal posts at the entrance, but no sign. Will have our 40 Something Cowgirls Sign out by the road to help you know where to turn. Go 1 mile and you will see a State Park sign on the left where you can park your trailer. Primitive Camping is on the left and ride sides of the road as well.
From Forsyth, Ga (off I-75), take Hwy 83 North/East. Will reach a four-way stop at the intersection of Hwy 83 & Hwy 87. Stay on Hwy 83. Will cross some railroad tracks and the Ocmulgee River. Once you’ve crossed the River, Forest Service Rd 1099 is the first road on the left at the crest of the hill right before a curve. There are two metal posts at the entrance, but no sign. Will have our 40 Something Cowgirls Sign out by the road to help you know where to turn. Go 1 mile and you will see a State Park sign on the left where you can park your trailer. Primitive Camping is on the left and right sides of the road as well.
From Jackson, Ga, take Highway 87/23 South and will come to a 4-way stop. Turn left on to Highway 83 heading East. Will cross some railroad tracks and the Ocmulgee River. Woods Ferry Recreational Area Day Ride
Meet at 9:30, ride out by 10:00.
TrailHead is easiest found by putting Buck’s Grave Road, Chester, SC in your GPS. You will take Woods Ferry Road to get to Buck’s Grave Rd. This will take you to the gravel road that goes to the trailhead. No restroom nor water at trailhead.
Located in western Chester County, lies within a beautiful wooded floodplain surrounded by upland pine woods and maturing hardwood forests. Some hills and a few rocky/rooty areas. Boots or shoes recommended.
Come ride this beautiful Ranch in Glen Rose and explore the amazing Twin Falls Trail. It is magical.
Trail Ride after church on Sunday the 19th. Meeting around noon. Bring lunch / drink. $20 (honor system). Neg Coggins required.

Tsali Recreational Arena – Trail Ride Right and Left Loops. Remember you have to pay for daily parking online or in an envelope at the Kiosk. Bring plenty of snacks and water for a full day of fun and riding. Meet at large parking area at boat ramp. You can bring trail dogs to Tsali

Ranch Horse & Roping Clinic
Cost is $60 per rider, lunch included.
Ages 12 and up.
Limited to 12 participants in ranch horse, 12 in roping.
Meet on the entrance road, at the old field parking area just before horse camp, past the day parking area. we’ll ride the entire big loop out to the river and follow the river down to Earl’s
Ford river crossing area then return up to FR to parking area. Bring tons of snacks, lunch, and water. Shoes recommended on Ga side, trails are easy to moderate difficulty.
