Croft State Park Camp and Ride with the Kings Mountain NC Chapter from Mar 7-10th.
This park located in Spartanburg, SC is widely popular and is known around the region for its equestrian facilities. The park regularly hosts shows in its arena and boasts more than 20 miles of equestrian trails. Mostly flat trails, rocky and roots in some areas.

Come join us at the Ocmulgee Bluffs for a Saint Patrick’s Day Ride on Mar 17th at 3:00. Let’s plan on wearing green and bringing a small snack to share with everybody before we head out.
This area is a beautiful place to ride. Directions are as follows:
From Forsyth take Highway 83 north east towards Monticello. Will cross the Ocmulgee River, and a few miles down, will go past the Enon Baptist Church on your left. Will see a big Ocmulgee Bluffs sign on your right where you turn left onto Smith Mill Rd after seeing the sign. There is a black horse sign with the words Saddle Horse Club written on it on your left as you turn in. Road is not in the best of shape and narrow, so take it nice and slow. After 2-3 ? miles, you’ll see the Saddle Horse Campground on your right and on your left, will be the entrance to the Bluffs where you pay and can park.

Come join us as we assist Rutledge clients enjoy the benefits of equine therapy. We will not be riding, but will be assisting young adults who are undergoing cancer treatments. Whether riding the trails or grooming horses, we need cowgirls there to help.
Patients will book through Rutledge at the direction of their medical advisers.

And we’re off….To the races that is! The Hawkinsville Harness Races will be held on Mar 30th. This is the only day of the year where you can watch live horse racing in Georgia! Gates open at 9:30 and races start at 11:00. There will be food on site as well as local vendors and activities for kids. Cost is $5 per person and children under 12 get in free. Can’t wait to see all the beautiful racehorses AND watch every race from start to finish! We should probably be at the track around 10:00 and all sit together for the exciting races! We will have an early supper around 4:00 at the Hawkinsville Steak House after watching the races most of the day. Think this will be a very enjoyable event for all ages! It could be our own “Forsyth Chapter Derby” with the big, beautiful hats and of course mint juleps or mimosas! Who’s in?

This year’s we did our first ever fundraiser trail ride on New Year’s that was open to the public. We hosted it at our farm and offered prizes and raffled off items. It was a great success and everyone has asked us to do another one and we have decided to host another trail ride fundraiser for March 30th 2024 with a rain date of April 13th 2024!
Please join us March 30th 2024. Farm opens at 930 trail ride starts at 11. we have had some great feed back from our first public trail ride and will be offering color coded trails at different lengths so you can pick what works best for you! First ride out at 11am, come back to socialize with raffle drawing at 2pm additional rides after raffle and farm closes at 7pm. We will also have ribbons for your horses red=may kick, green=young maybe unpredictable and Gold = rider is single! We will have ribbons out with signs explaining. This got away from me at the new year’s day trail ride and I even forgot to put a gold ribbon for my own horse . Alot was learned and we think our second public ride will be even better! It is Bluebonnet time in Texas and this ranch never disappoints! Let’s go take a ride and test our sense of adventure while checking out the beautiful landscape that the bluebonnets always create. Bring a lunch with you and we’ll take a picnic along the way.
The owner typically meets us to check Coggins, get release form signed and collect fees.
“Bust a Nut” is a fundraiser event to benefit 5150 Rescue Farm. Come have drinks, listen to Heidi’s stories, hang out with friends, and look at some great art. Drinks will be served from a converted horse trailer. More details as she posts the latest on the event.
Purpose of the fundraiser: 5150 farm was surrendered a bunch of Guinea pigs that need to be neutered.
Heidi and 5150 Farms rescues animals of all types, like the pig that caused an uproar locally. All animals are cared for and get vet treatments. Some will find their forever home on the farm and others are able to get adopted.
We can also hit up the Cantina for Mexican food and drinks after to keep the laughs going.
The ranch is closed for Easter.

To get on the roster, we need your name, current 40SC member number and the bib number assigned to you through the sign up link below, in addition to the total mileage ridden. If you do not have a horse, you can also participate by walking/ running the 100 miles.

Caney Mountain Horse Camp in approx an 8 hour drive from Fort Worth. There are numerous videos on YouTube featuring Caney Mountain and all that it has to offer. It will be magnificent with all of the Spring foliage. This is a great opportunity to challenge yourself and your mount. They have guides and trails for all levels of riders. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN RESERVATIONS. There is a restaurant at the camp. It is near Big Flat. You will see a sign that says Leatherwood Wilderness and another sign that says 1118.
