Trail ride at the back side of Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest, exploring new areas and trails. Lady Splipper and Lake Russell trails are nestled amongst the beautiful foothills of Northeast Georgia. Meeting at the end of the road of Cannon Rd, which is just past Frady Branch Equine main trail parking.
Meet at Lake Whitney Trail head at noon

Platter Flats on Lake Texoma is a BEAUTIFUL place to ride. The trails are fairly easy through the woods and along the lake. The footing is sandy. Pack a snack to stop midway at Rooster’s Roost with a gorgeous view overlooking the lake, with a picnic table and hitching posts.
Kings Mountain State Park Day Ride Meet at 10:00, ride out by 10:30. $3.00 per horse.

This easy to moderately difficult 30+ mile loop trails begins in Kings Mountain State Park and circles into Kings Mountain National Military Park, the site of a famous Revolutionary War battle. The surface is primarily flat with some rocky areas and some clay spots. A local saddle club takes care to watch over the trails and ensure solid footing on some of the ridge climbs. Shoes or boots recommended.

Join our Marvelous Mavericks riding the trails around the lake at Abilene State Park.
Check in at the office to show proof of negative coggins, and pay the $5/person park entrance fee.
Make a U-turn around the office and go back out to the highway. Go Left for 1 mile. Lake entrance is on the right. We park near the swimming area or in the first boat ramp parking lot.
The trail is a 2 hour ride. Bathrooms are close to parking. Yes, there are areas where you can water your horse.

We will be riding at 1099 (Part of Ocmulgee Bluffs) on Sunday, Feb 25 at 2:30. Directions to 1099 are as follows:
From Monticello, Ga take Hwy 83 south towards Forsyth. Travel approximately 12 1/2 miles. At mile marker #2, slow down. Note: mile markers are on the left side of the rod. At the top of the hill, just before mile marker #1, take the gravel road on the right. There are two metal posts at the entrance, but no sign. Will have our 40 Something Cowgirls Sign out by the road to help you know where to turn. Go 1 mile and you will see a State Park sign on the left where you can park your trailer. Camping is on the left side of the road as well.
From Forsyth, Ga (off I-75), take Hwy 83 North/East. Will reach a four-way stop at the intersection of Hwy 83 & Hwy 87. Stay on Hwy 83. Will cross some railroad tracks and the Ocmulgee River. Once crossed the River, Forest Service Rd 1099 is the first road on the left at the crest of the hill right before a curve. There are two metal posts at the entrance, but no sign. Will have our 40 Something Cowgirls Sign out by the road to help you know where to turn. Go 1 mile and you will see a State Park sign on the left where you can park your trailer. Camping is on the left side of the road as well.
From Jackson, Ga, take Highway 87/23 South and will come to a 4-way stop. Turn left on to Highway 83 heading East. Will cross some railroad tracks and the Ocmulgee River. Once crossed the River, Forest Service Rd 1099 is the first road on the left at the crest of the hill right before a curve. There are two metal posts at the entrance, but no sign. Will have our 40 Something Cowgirls Sign out by the road to help you know where to turn. Go 1 mile and you will see a State Park sign on the left where you can park your trailer. Camping is on the left side of the road as well.

Day trail ride at Frady Branch – Chattahoochee National Forest, Toccoa, Ga. – 14.5 miles of trails and four separate loops to explore. Meet at the trailhead parking area at 10 am. There is a
$ 5-a-day use fee which you can buy a yearly pass from USDA Forest Service. Bring lunch, snacks, and drinks. See ya on the trail

We will be attending a trail ride organized by BTCC at Six O Ranch. Ride out is at 11, usually ride 3ish hours here.

We ride out promptly at 10am! Trailer parking behind the Benbrook Stables. turn on Stevens Road to access (right off 377-Dutch Branch Park entrance) then left on Lake Shore.
Lunch after at 3 Parrots. Dutch treat.

Sunday Afternoon ride at the Grasslands! Changing things up and starting from the Valley View trailhead to see the other side of the Grasslands. Charges for parking in the camping area.
Meet at Hurricane Creek Parking Area at 10am, and we will ride out up Hurrican Creek or to Albert Mountain. Bring plenty of drinks, snacks, luft, and horsey treats. Standing Indian National FOrest is off Hwy 64 Between Franklin and Hayesville. Contact Tammy for any questions
Come join us at the 66th Annual Worlds Largest Rattlesnake Round-up… Even if you don’t like snakes, it’s always a great weekend. All kinds of information about the nasty death noodles, but also, all kinds of vendors and food… Again, a fun, informative family weekend… All are welcome…If you go, just take a picture of you there and send it to Terri….
FCSC Annual Tack Swap. We will have indoor vendors on two floors of our clubhouse and outside spaces available. More information to follow. Sign ups should be available at the end of December. Mark your calendars!
The FCSC Annual Tack Swap has been set for Saturday, March 9th. They will be using the same format as last year with both inside and outside spots available to rent. First space is $25 and extra spaces can be added at $15 each. This allows for social distancing and was a big help to the success of last year’s event. We will be riding from Gentry Wimberely’s house to Canyon Road Bar and Grill. This will be a 6-7 mile ride with drink stops if needed. we are planning to unload at Gentrys then convoying trucks and trailers to Canyon Road we will have a cowgirl uber to take the drivers who are also riding back to the horses. Come ride with the best… our official Trail Boss, Linda Deas. Linda is a very experienced Trail Hand and will guide you to the best trails and activities. She will be spending the week and all will have a great time. You can come for the week or just to Day Ride! She will ride out at 10:30 am each day. Bring your lunch or food as needed. To my understanding this is a primitive campground. You will need your generator for power, if you chose to stay. Please contact Linda with any questions!!
The Caddo National Grasslands WMA is located in Fannin County about 70 miles northeast of Dallas near Bonham. From Dallas take US 75 north for 35 miles to the SH 121 exit going to Bonham, another 35 miles to Bonham, and then about 15-20 miles northeast of Bonham to the WMA. SH 121 connects to US 82 at Bonham. Stay on US 82 18 miles to Honey Grove.
Caddo is a Federal Park Property. You can purchase a Lifetime Senior Membership Discount Card at www.Reservations.gov, or several others to pick from!

Come join us at the Ocmulgee Bluffs for a Saint Patrick’s Day Ride on Mar 17th at 3:00. Let’s plan on wearing green and bringing a small snack to share with everybody before we head out.
This area is a beautiful place to ride. Directions are as follows:
From Forsyth take Highway 83 north east towards Monticello. Will cross the Ocmulgee River, and a few miles down, will go past the Enon Baptist Church on your left. Will see a big Ocmulgee Bluffs sign on your right where you turn left onto Smith Mill Rd after seeing the sign. There is a black horse sign with the words Saddle Horse Club written on it on your left as you turn in. Road is not in the best of shape and narrow, so take it nice and slow. After 2-3 ? miles, you’ll see the Saddle Horse Campground on your right and on your left, will be the entrance to the Bluffs where you pay and can park.

Join us at Abilene State Park for our monthly trail ride. Be sure to check in, show coggins, and pay your fee to the park station before heading to the lake. Lake entrance is left 1 mile up the highway on the right side. We park near the swimming/picnic area. See y’all there!
We will be joining the Troup County Saddle Club for a fun filled day of obstacle play and desensitizing beginning at 10:00 till 1:00, chili cook off and taste testing at 12 for an undetermined cost and then a trail ride after our meal – all at Pyne Park…If you would like to bring some chili, please let https://www.facebook.com/cheryl.allenhirgelt know. Hickory Creek WMA is a beautifully rugged, fun place to ride. The trails are now well marked and clear. You DO need a conservation pass to ride there, unless you already have an OK hunting or fishing license.
