May 10 -11th – Bar W Rodeo Company – Sponsored by the Macon County FFA Chapter – Two Full Nights of championship rodeo with bull riding, barrel racing, breakaway, broncos, and much more. The Macon County Horse Association is opening their concession stand for amazing pulled porked sandwiches and platters. Bar W Rodeo is a local odeo company nestled right here in our Western Carolina Mountains. We hope everyone comes out to see amazing action and help raise funds for our local FFA and Horse Association
Meet on the entrance road, at the old field parking area just before horse camp, past the day parking area. we’ll ride the entire big loop out to the river and follow the river down to Earl’s
Ford river crossing area then return up to FR to parking area. Bring tons of snacks, lunch, and water. Shoes recommended on Ga side, trails are easy to moderate difficulty.

Franklin cowgirls meet at Ingles in Clayton at 9am, and Georgia & SC Cowgirls meet at 10:30 at forest 92E – come in on Cannon Road off Hwy 80 turn right on first forest road on right go down turn around on loop and line up heading outward for pairking,
Secret Waterfall trail is outside the borders of the Chattahoochee – Oconee National Forest on private land which they allow hiking and horse back riding out to enjoy the beautiful beach and waterfall. We have to pack in our lunch and drinks, and pack them back out. We wil have lunch and a picnic, play in the water and swim with our horses, so bring a sheet to put down to place your tack on it to avoid getting covered in sand. Bring shorts and bathing suits and water shoes. Dogs are allowed on these trails. Also bring horse snacks and doggie snacks.
Come on out and share the covered arena for a morning of peaceful, comfortable, riding and training!! We will be here to help and assist, or just travel the trails in the dirt!! If you need assistance, do not hesitate to ask. Casual fun day… bring your preferred drinks and snacks for fellowship after riding!! This is a focused Clinic for Ranch Trail obstacles goal and execution! Nathan Wells will work you through some ground time and saddle time. Requirements for this Clinic participation is the ability to walk, trot, and lope your horse. His training will be provide a breakdown of each obstacle and the best approach to the completed pattern. This will help the confidence of beginners as well as experienced rider!! Limited space for six (6) riders. Audit is $20 per person. Farmersville will be attending The 2nd Event in a Progressive Series of Liberty Training presented by East Texas Liberty and hosted by Sherri Gerstenkorn. Each Clinic session is $150. Audit is allowed at $50 per person and will give you a birds-eye perspective of the process! If this is a success and more interest is created, Sherri may offer this Series on a Monthly basis in conjunction with East Texas Liberty. Please feel free to contact Sherri!
Macon County Horse Association meeting. The Board meeting will start at 6pm, then the general meeting begins at 7 pm, all cowgirl members will meet at the Alumni building

Playday Series dates include March 2 & 16, April 6 & 27, May 11 & 25, and June 15 & 29. High point Buckles will be given for each age group! **MUST ATTEND 6 OUT OF 8 PLAYDAYS IN THE SERIES TO QUALIFY FOR END OF SERIES AWARDS.**
Cost is $10 per Class or $40 for 5 Classes. Payment due in Cash or Zelle.
Meet at day parking area and ride out to Adeline or Earl’s Ford and then weave through the trails on South Carolina Side and return to parking area in the afternoon. Bring food, snacks, and plenty of water to drink. Trail dogs allowed on the trails
Tsali Recreational Arena – Trail Ride Right and Left Loops. Remember you have to pay for daily parking online or in an envelope at the Kiosk. Bring plenty of snacks and water for a full day of fun and riding. Meet at large parking area at boat ramp. You can bring trail dogs to Tsali
Darnell Farm – Meet at 6:00 pm – have a May round-up meeting. Discuss additional trail rides, donations, and sponsors. Enjoy afternoon music, fellowship, friendship, and Dream Whips
Join us for a Memorial Day Getaway for the whole family and our Cowgirls Friends!!! Cowgirls will be trail riding with ride out by 9:30; Men will be cooking!? You are welcome to bring your preferred food and throw it on our grill, or prepare your own. Remember, this is remote, so there will be no running to Chicken Express at the last minute. Be prepared for your family. We will have a “pot luck” sign-up for sides and desserts. Bring your Kiddos, bring your Grands, bring your Friends! Bring your horses, bring your chairs, or hammock. Relax and enjoy a fun day together!!
We have another Trail Ride Weekend organized by Trail Boss, Linda Deas. According to Linda, this is a very beautiful park to ride in and enjoy!!! You can come for the week or just to Day Ride! She will ride out at 10:30 am each day. Bring your lunch or food as needed. This Park has hookups that must be reserved at www.Reservations.gov. Please contact Linda with any questions!!
Ebenezer is another Federal Park Property. You can purchase a Lifetime Senior Membership Discount Card at www.Reservations.gov, or several other Memberships to pick from!
GSMNP – Meet at the paved parking area before the tunnel parking area at 10 am. Must have yearly or daily GSMNP parking pass. We will ride out White Oak and connect up to Bear Creek Trail, ride to the top and intersect with Welch Ridge trail, eat lunch, and either follow around to Forney Creek or return down Bear Creek. Bring plenty of water, food, and horsey snacks. No trail dogs allowed

Meet at Tow String parking Area – Requires a day parking pass or a yearly pass for the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. We will ride out Bradley Creek, cross the creek/steel bridge and head up to Cabin Flats Primitive Horse Camp. Some may go on up to reach the top of 5600+ft to the junction of the Appalachian trail to go out on the rock outcropping of Charlie’s Bunion; it is one of the most spectacular views in the park. The trail is challenging and requires a slow and steady pace. Bring saddle bags with plenty of food, water, and snacks. The Cabin Flats group can enjoy a beautiful meadow alongside the creek to enjoy lunch before heading back out. The Charlie’s Bunion trip is roughly a 21.5 mile round trip distance, and the cabin flats distance is about 13 to 15 miles round trip. Recommend shows on all four hooves. No trail dogs allowed in GSMNP

We coined the phrase “Tramping” several years ago and it stuck… for a scheduled Trail and Camping Event! Plans now to be made for your Trail Riding week(end) or just a Vacation week(end). We will be participating, again, in the 2nd Annual Horse EXPO at Longhorn Arena in Greenville, TX. This Expo event will include Horse Products Vendors, Sale Horse Alley, Food Vendors, Demonstrations, New & Used Tack, Stallion Exhibits, and Horse Health. Farmersville will have a booth and represent 40 Something Cowgirls!! We will also attend and participate in EXPO Demonstrations. The 2023 1st Annual EXPO was a huge success for our Chapter!! And in final summary, our participating Members will wrap up their competition 2024 year back at Henderson County Fair Grounds in Athens!!! Come out and cheer them on! Your appearance and support is greatly appreciated!
