It is time for the annual Peach Festival! Weatherford is all spiffed up with new renovations and better grounds for the festival. The Heidaway is moving location and this will be the grand opening of the new space. She will be open 10-10. Presley Haile will be providing live music from 5-10 pm. Proceeds from the Heidaway directly benefit 5150 Rescue Farm so stop by and check out the new space, have a drink, listen to some music, and buy some beautiful art!
Let’s have fun with the horses on some obstacles. There will be obstacles set up in the front pasture, arena and warm up pens will be open for riding. The church is going to have 3 Friday night events, 2 practices June and then a timed competition on August 16th that will be a patterned jackpot format. Enjoy rodeo action at the professional level at the Red Desert Roundup PRCA Rodeo.
From the classic events of Saddle Bronc , bareback, the fan favorite of bull riding, and the pretty girls & fast horses of barrel racing. Don’t forget the classic timed events of team roping, steer wrestling, and calf roping.
Pre Show events may vary but they usually have mutton busting, teen cash scramble, and the adult cash scramble.
Join in on the fun of the local county fair. From livestock shows to fair food, exhibits, vendors, the carnival and concerts there is a little bit of something for everyone.

Now that we have gotten some obstacle practice in, let’s see our improvements. This will be a patterned jackpot for time. 3D format, paying 2 places in each division, 75% payout.

Time to ride! Wyatt Ranch is always a great ride. Lots of good scenery and some water crossings. Terrain is mixed and does have some rocky areas. Ranch fee is $20
We haven’t enjoyed the Grasslands in a bit! Meet at the windmill, ride out at 9:30. Plan to do 4ish hours, around 11 miles. This one is barefoot friendly.
Friday night 6-9 PM practice to prepare for the event on Saturday. You do not have to participate in the event to come and practice with us! $35 and no membership required to participate.

Trail ride on the Back Country trail, ride out at 9 AM. The state park fee is $7.00 and Coggins is required.
Parker County Sheriff Posse Ranch Rodeo is always a good time. Time to watch our local Cowboy and Cowgirl talent show off their skills. Match races are on Saturday afternoon. It looks like a couple of our members have entered, let’s go cheer them on!

Dust off your boots!!! A few of you have asked, so let’s go have some fun doing line dance lessons. Trickle Creek is a beautiful venue, and the instructor is Marcia. It doesn’t matter if you have 2 left feet, this will be a fun time. What do you need? Clothes you can move in, shoes you can slide with, $10 CASH ONLY, and BYOB. Whatever beverage you would like.
Jim welcomes both western & english riders. Whether your horse is under saddle or still in the ground work stages of training, Jim is very well versatile and knowledgeable.
Come prepared to answer the question, “What do you want to learn/work on?” Jim wants to help you with your goals and that is why he does one hour one-on-one sessions.
A one hour session with your horse is $160.
If you chose not to bring a horse there is a $25 per day audit fee. Clinic participants are welcome to audit all riders sessions at no additional charge.
Sessions start at 9am and go until 5pm, with a one hour lunch break from noon to 1pm.
Participants must prepay in advance to reserve their spot.

Connie works with participants at each of their levels, both horse & Rider. In the clinic there will be learning/drills both of foot & horseback.
Join the 40 Something Cowgirls as they test their artistic abilities. At this event we will be painting a cute “Ostrich”. The event will be held at Sante Fe Southwest Grill on September 26, 2024 from 6pm to 8:30pm. The $35 ticket includes everything you need: 2.5hrs of painting, stencils, 16×20 stretched canvas to take home, your own easel to work on, paint, brushes, aprons, and help from the artist so you can enjoy your masterpiece.

Let’s join up with Brazos Trails Cowboy Church for a trail ride at the Grasslands. The ride will start at TADRA, and we will do the yellow trail, roughly 9 miles.
Save the dates for the 3rd Annual “Power of Pink Barrel Race”. The dates will be Friday October 18th through Sunday October 20th.
This is another great barrel race produced by Genesis Parker & Megan Matsuura, two members of the Green River Chapter of 40 Something Cowgirls.
A great race for a great cause, well ran, fun for the entire family, and a great time in the saddle.
