Come join the Laurens Club memorial for Mr Shull, spring ride. Primitive camping, generators allowed. Steak dinner on Saturday night with entertainment. Sandy road trails mostly. Come as Elizabeth Bigham’s guest for 25$. Please contact Libby (864) 9081717 before April 5th to reserve dinner. We’ll have a chili cook off Friday night. T shirts available to buy at camp. Pens or high lines for horses. Negative coggins required.

If anyone is interested in volunteering for western heritage day at Hardin-Simmons, they are looking for people to show kids how to rope (like 1st graders). In the past HSU students who don’t know how to rope have helped but they’d love to have “real cowgirls/boys” come to show how it’s done.
It is Thursday April 25th 8 am- noon. Over 2000 kids are already signed up.
Other western things to show the kids are also open for suggestion. The six white horses will have a farrier working on them for one of the stations.

She will go over how different bits work in horses mouth, choosing the best bit for you and your horse, how to balance your saddle to improve your comfort and safety. After each class the Judge will go over the score card with you and share ways you can improve. Events: Ranch Trail, Ranch Riding, Ranch Reining, Ranch Flag. Let’s ride in beautiful NC. South Mountain Park has it all. you must reserve a horse stall separately in order to stay in equestrian camp. They have bedding, water, electric. showers. Miles of trails. Negative coggins required. Shoes or boots recommended. We’ll be meeting up with other chapter cowgirls too.

There is an annual membership fee. $10 entry fee, per event.
Classes by age: Novice: Lead-Line, Novice: Walk-Trot (All Ages), Junior (11-13), Youth (14-17), Adult (18-39), Classics (40+).
To qualify for yearend awards, you need to be a member and must compete in a minimum of four (4) monthly events.

Great trails had a fun time with fellow Cowgirl
Join us for a fundraiser trail ride with our partners BCHSC. We’ll ride from Fell hunt camp to Parsons Mountain recreation area. Lunch will be served by the lake . Saxons food truck will serve lunch. Ride out at 10am. Proceeds are going to restore the hitching rails at the lake.
Abilene State Park is hosting a guided trail ride. Please consider this is not a free range 40 Something Cowgirls guided ride. Please know they plan to ride out at 9:00am so come early. Can’t wait to see y’all there!

Join us for a guided trail ride around Lake Abilene as part of Abilene State Park’s 90th anniversary celebration!
This will be a 2-hour ride. You will need to bring your own horse and show your Coggins. We’ll meet and unload at the swimming area parking lot.
Park entrance is free for this event!

Come and have fun and practice your trail skills. Amy will make it interesting and add a treasure hunt. Then we’ll test our skills with a horsey partner and play a few games. We will break for lunch. Amy will supply pulled pork sandwiches. Bring a side dish or desert to share. Amy will have water, otherwise please bring what you want to drink. There will be prizes. $10.00 charge per horse trailer. This event is for 40SC members and their immediate family members.
