Whether you are an experienced equestrian looking to bring your horse to a more advanced level, or less experienced and looking to feel more confident with your horse day-to-day! Greg’s tailored approach and master communication skills will help you work through challenges to reach those goals.
AM Class 9:00am – Noon
Horsemanship 1
Excellent for someone new to working with Greg, young horses, or green horses.
Immersion and Refinement Classes will give you and your horse the opportunity to learn together with Greg. You’ll be working toward developing an understanding of how your horse learns, as well as acquiring the tools to build a solid foundation from feel. This is the beginning of a new relationship together.
Phase One: In Immersion the foundation in groundwork will help to build a secure, confident, relaxed, and supple horse. Followed by applying the groundwork to the saddle, the rider will now begin to reap the benefits from the new foundation, helping the horse to move away from the slightest amount of feel. You will learn how to meet the horse’s needs and to speak to the horses in their language, the horse and rider have a much greater potential of reaching goals for any discipline in harmony.
Phase Two: The refinement phase we will start to focus more on the individual discipline and goals of each horse and rider combination

Franklin, NC – Tow String up to Cabin Flats and Charlie’s Bunion @ Tow String Horse Trailhead
Sep 15 @ 9:00 am – 6:00 pm
  • Meet at Tow String parking Area – Requires a day parking pass or a yearly pass for the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.  We will ride out Bradley Creek, cross the creek/steel bridge and head up to Cabin Flats Primitive Horse Camp. Some may go on up to reach the top of 5600+ft to the junction of the Appalachian trail to go out on the rock outcropping of Charlie’s Bunion; it is one of the most spectacular views in the park. The trail is challenging and requires a slow and steady pace. Bring saddle bags with plenty of food, water, and snacks.  The Cabin Flats group can enjoy a beautiful meadow alongside the creek to enjoy lunch before heading back out.  The Charlie’s Bunion trip is roughly a 21.5 mile round trip distance, and the cabin flats distance is about 13 to 15 miles round trip. Recommend shows on all four hooves. No trail dogs allowed in GSMNP
