The Polk County Master Gardener Association Plant Sale is coming up Friday, May 10th 9:00 to 4:00 and Saturday, May 11th, 9:00 t0 2:00.
Cheers to the returning Country Store, beautiful annuals, trees and shrubs, perennials, herbs, hanging baskets and a few specialty plants.
They are adding a new children’s area this year where children will, for $1, be able to plant a Marigold in a colorful plastic pot for their mom and take home a small scoop of Marigold seeds to plant in their yard. This table will be staffed by members of one of their 4H Horticulture groups who will also have information on the 4H groups in Polk County to give to kids who come to the table.
They will also have 5 to 6 raffle items to be raffled off on Saturday at noon.

Come join us on May 11th (Sat Mother’s Day Weekend Ride) at 10 (Ride Out Time) at Maynard’s Mill. It is such a beautiful farm filled with beautiful trails. Cost has gone up to $15 which you must leave in the barn before unloading. Always have proof of coggins in case it’s needed. Please be aware there are still two bridges out of commission, but many other trails to choose from.

This is a focused Clinic for Ranch Trail obstacles goal and execution! Nathan Wells will work you through some ground time and saddle time. Requirements for this Clinic participation is the ability to walk, trot, and lope your horse. His training will be provide a breakdown of each obstacle and the best approach to the completed pattern. This will help the confidence of beginners as well as experienced rider!! Limited space for six (6) riders. Audit is $20 per person. We will be riding at 1099 (Part of Ocmulgee Bluffs) on Saturday, May 18th at 10:00. Directions to 1099 are as follows:
From Monticello, Ga take Hwy 83 south towards Forsyth. Travel approximately 12 1/2 miles. At mile marker #2, slow down. Note: mile markers are on the left side of the road. At the top of the hill, just before mile marker #1, take the gravel road (Forest Service Rd 1099) on the right. There are two metal posts at the entrance, but no sign. Will have our 40 Something Cowgirls Sign out by the road to help you know where to turn. Go 1 mile and you will see a State Park sign on the left where you can park your trailer. Primitive Camping is on the left and ride sides of the road as well.
From Forsyth, Ga (off I-75), take Hwy 83 North/East. Will reach a four-way stop at the intersection of Hwy 83 & Hwy 87. Stay on Hwy 83. Will cross some railroad tracks and the Ocmulgee River. Once you’ve crossed the River, Forest Service Rd 1099 is the first road on the left at the crest of the hill right before a curve. There are two metal posts at the entrance, but no sign. Will have our 40 Something Cowgirls Sign out by the road to help you know where to turn. Go 1 mile and you will see a State Park sign on the left where you can park your trailer. Farmersville will be attending The 2nd Event in a Progressive Series of Liberty Training presented by East Texas Liberty and hosted by Sherri Gerstenkorn. Each Clinic session is $150. Audit is allowed at $50 per person and will give you a birds-eye perspective of the process! If this is a success and more interest is created, Sherri may offer this Series on a Monthly basis in conjunction with East Texas Liberty. Please feel free to contact Sherri!

Books open at 9AM, Events begin at 10AM. Age groups are 6 & Under, 7-12, 13-18, 19-39, 40 & Over. Classes include Poles, Straighaway Barrels, Cloverleaf Barrels, plus 2 Mystery Classes.
Playday Series dates include March 2 & 16, April 6 & 27, May 11 & 25, and June 15 & 29. High point Buckles will be given for each age group! **MUST ATTEND 6 OUT OF 8 PLAYDAYS IN THE SERIES TO QUALIFY FOR END OF SERIES AWARDS.**
Cost is $10 per Class or $40 for 5 Classes. Payment due in Cash or Zelle.
Come join us on May 25th at 10:00 over at Charlie Elliott for a beautiful ride on the 5.6 multi-use trail as we meander thru the beautiful woods, and remember those who gave it all so we could be free….Hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!

This area is a beautiful place to ride. Directions are as follows:
From Forsyth take Highway 83 north east towards Monticello. Will cross the Ocmulgee River, and a few miles down, will go past the Enon Baptist Church on your left. Will see a big Ocmulgee Bluffs sign on your right where you turn left onto Smith Mill Rd after seeing the sign. There is a black horse sign with the words Saddle Horse Club written on it on your left as you turn in. Road is not in the best of shape and narrow, so take it nice and slow. After 2-3 ? miles, you’ll see the Saddle Horse Campground on your right and on your left, will be the entrance to the Bluffs where you pay and can park.
If you haven’t joined us in a while, please come on out for a good day to ride with some wonderful cowgirls!
We have another Trail Ride Weekend organized by Trail Boss, Linda Deas. According to Linda, this is a very beautiful park to ride in and enjoy!!! You can come for the week or just to Day Ride! She will ride out at 10:30 am each day. Bring your lunch or food as needed. This Park has hookups that must be reserved at www.Reservations.gov. Please contact Linda with any questions!!
Ebenezer is another Federal Park Property. You can purchase a Lifetime Senior Membership Discount Card at www.Reservations.gov, or several other Memberships to pick from!

From Sisters, Oregon, travel 12.4 miles northwest on Highway 20, then 7.0 miles north on Forest Road 12, then 1.1 miles west on Forest Road 1260, and then 1 mile north on Forest Road 1260 200.

Key Sheep Springs Horse Camp Regulations
- Bring only weed-free certified hay. (No local forage available.)
- Horses must be kept in stalls provided, and may not be tethered or picketed outside of stalls.
- Quiet Hours extend from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
- Prevent the spread of invasive pests by obtaining firewood locally.
- Fires are only permitted in designated fire receptacles and must be attended. Fires must be extinguished upon departure.
- Pets must be kept on leash and attended at all times.
- Secure food and scented items from bears.

Directions: North on 9th St, go 1 mile, Left on Heritage Hills Rd, then follow the signs to TE Ranch.
$10 per hand or 3 hand for $20 (minimum one hand per rider)

Come enjoy an Amazing Clinic with Patrick Sullivan of Gamilah Unbridled & Modern-Day Horsemanship
Each day, participants will receive 2 one on one sessions with their horse. Due to the individualized teaching, they welcome participants of all skill levels. Their niche is liberty and bridleless riding, but participants are welcome to use their sessions as they’d like.
This clinic will end with liberty games Sunday Afternoon!
Cost: Participants $675 for 3 days, Auditors $35 per day.
