Meet at Hurricane Creek Parking Area at 10am, and we will ride out across creek jump on Big Indian Trail. Bring your chainsaws and hand saws. This will be first ride since winter storms. Bring saddles with water and food.
Nantahala National Forest is off Hwy 64 Between Franklin and Hayesville. Contact Tammy for any questions
Tsali Recreational Arena – Trail Ride Right and Left Loops. Remember you have to pay for daily parking online or in an envelope at the Kiosk. Bring plenty of snacks and water for a full day of fun and riding. Meet at large parking area at boat ramp. You can bring trail dogs to Tsali
Meet at Tow String parking Area – Requires a day parking pass or a yearly pass for the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. We will ride out Bradley Creek, cross the creek/steel bridge and head up to Cabin Flats Primitive Horse Camp. Some may go on up to reach the top of 5600+ft to the junction of the Appalachian trail to go out on the rock outcropping of Charlie’s Bunion; it is one of the most spectacular views in the park. The trail is challenging and requires a slow and steady pace. Bring saddle bags with plenty of food, water, and snacks. The Cabin Flats group can enjoy a beautiful meadow alongside the creek to enjoy lunch before heading back out. The Charlie’s Bunion trip is roughly a 21.5 mile round trip distance, and the cabin flats distance is about 13 to 15 miles round trip. Recommend shows on all four hooves. No trail dogs allowed in GSMNP

Another great opportunity to compete and watch some great horses at the Stock Horse of Texas – Aggieland Classic, Clinic, and Derby!! Join us if you can. Stephenville chapter is doing an overnighter at the NRS Event Center and bunkhouse. Ride the grasslands Saturday 10/5…shopping at NRS…dinner in Decatur and ride Sunday 10/6. Then head home. Stalls are available at NRS center…$25 for 12×12 covered or $20 for 10×10 uncovered. To reserve a stall call (940) 627-3949

And in final summary, our participating Members will wrap up their competition 2024 year back at Henderson County Fair Grounds in Athens!!! Come out and cheer them on! Your appearance and support is greatly appreciated!
As our interest grows and our Chapter Members develop their Ranch Competition skills, we will continue to participate in this great East Texas Stock Horse association!!
