Time to start riding, cowgirls! We have a team for the 2024 Virtual Tevis Cup ! To get on the roster, we need your name, current 40SC member number and the bib number assigned to you through the sign up link below, in addition to the total mileage ridden. If you do not have a horse, you can also participate by walking/ running the 100 miles.
You can screen shot the app with your mileage, in addition to the sign up response with your bib number. There will be one roster for this event!

Come join us at the Ocmulgee Bluffs for a mid-week morning ride on Thursday, May 30th at 10:00.

This area is a beautiful place to ride.  Directions are as follows:

From Forsyth take Highway 83 north east towards Monticello.  Will cross the Ocmulgee River, and a few miles down, will go past the Enon Baptist Church on your left.  Will see a big Ocmulgee Bluffs sign on your right where you turn left onto Smith Mill Rd after seeing the sign.  There is a black horse sign with the words Saddle Horse Club written on it on your left as you turn in.  Road is not in the best of shape and narrow, so take it nice and slow.  After 2-3 ? miles, you’ll see the Saddle Horse Campground on your right and on your left, will be the entrance to the Bluffs where you pay and can park.

Come out and ride with us to Boozy Slush located in Lavon. They have alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.  If we all want a snack, we can ride over to Sonic that is a short distance down the road.

We will meet at either Mallard Park that is located off HWY 78 near HWY 6 or the picnic area that is next door to Mallard Park. If you do park at the picnic area, please carpool or bring a small trailer.

For those of you going, it is a 10mile round trip ride.

We ride out promptly at 10am! Trailer parking behind the Benbrook Stables. turn on Stevens Road to access (right off 377-Dutch Branch Park entrance) then left on Lake Shore.

We will be riding at 1099 (Part of Ocmulgee) on Sunday, June 2nd, at 3:00.  Directions to 1099 are as follows:

From Monticello, Ga take Hwy 83 south/west towards Forsyth.  Travel approximately 12 1/2 miles.  At mile marker #2, slow down.  Note:  mile markers are on the left side of the road.  At the top of the hill, just after mile marker #1, take the gravel road (Forest Service Rd 1099) on the right.  There are two metal posts at the entrance, but no sign.  Will have our 40 Something Cowgirls Sign out by the road to help you know where to turn.  Go 1 mile and you will see a State Park sign on the left where you can park your trailer.  Primitive Camping is on the left and right sides of the road as well.

From Forsyth, Ga (off I-75), take Hwy 83 North/East. Will reach a four-way stop at the intersection of Hwy 83 & Hwy 87.  Stay on Hwy 83.  Will cross some railroad tracks and the Ocmulgee River.  Once you’ve crossed the River, the 1099 Forest Service Rd is the first road on the left at the crest of the hill right before a curve – right after the 911 emergency sign turn immediately to your left.  There are two metal posts at the entrance, but no sign.  Will have our 40 Something Cowgirls Sign out by the road to help you know where to turn.  Go 1 mile and you will see a parking sign on the left where you can park your trailer.  Primitive Camping is on the left and right sides of the road as well.

Looking forward to riding at the Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers GA on Saturday, June 22nd at 10:00.  They have many shaded trails and should be a lot of fun!  Bring your lunch and we’ll eat around 12:00 on the trail.  Should be a FUN, FUN day!

Enter in the Construction entrance just East of the Main entrance on 1187.  We ride out at 10:00 Potluck and pool party after.   More details on GroupMe as the date gets closer.

Will be a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon under the trees on a beautiful trail.

Hello yall, On July 6th, 2024, the Banales family is having their annual memorial trail ride in Springtown, TX. All are welcome. The ride is approximately 7 miles long and starts at 10:00 am from the front gate of The trail ride travels down Chaparral Ln. Right turn onto J.E.. Woody to right on Prather. Right turn on to Goshon Rd. Right on Fletcher on to private property to the back gate of 199 W. Jake St.(or where199 W. Jake Street in Springtown, TX. the starting point was.) A live band will travel with us on the trail ride. Party with a live band after the trail ride. This event is growing bigger better each year. Bring you horse or riding club and come join us.
