The 2024 BISD Homecoming Parade will begin promptly at 7 p.m. Float lineup starts at 6 p.m. Designated line-up location for Breck40SC will be assigned a few days prior to event and distributed via the group chat. All the usual parade requirements apply–Pink dress shirts, pink leg wraps, etc. Please let your queen or princess know if you are a non-rider and would like to participate. Another great opportunity to compete and watch some great horses at the Stock Horse of Texas – Aggieland Classic, Clinic, and Derby!! Join us if you can. Come join us as we assist Rutledge clients enjoy the benefits of equine therapy. We will not be riding, but will be assisting young adults who are undergoing cancer treatments. Whether riding the trails or grooming horses, we need cowgirls there to help.
Patients will book through Rutledge at the direction of their medical advisers.

LBJ Grasslands ride. Approx 9 miles. Some of the girls may go ride Saturday and spend the night. You will have to coordinate Saturday on GroupMe. Sunday’s ride out time is 10:00. The difficulty level is a 2.5. Kristin Jaffe will be trail guide Sunday. She knows LBJ very well. Her contact info is here.

Cowgirls will be attending the Douglas County Mounted Posse meeting. This is another equestrian group in the area, and we attend so we can also help support their efforts in the horse community here.
We will having a monthly arena ride in the lower arena at Backen’s . We can work on patterns or whatever we want to come up with. Park in the pasture by the barn and walk or ride down to the arena. You can come and ride as little or as long as you want. The cost will vary from $10-$15 depending on how many of us show up .

Join us for our 3rd Annual trip to the Cattleman’s Classic @ Ribeye Roundup! Great fun to watch the Cook-Off and great food to enjoy after! Proceeds of the event will benefit to NETBIO – The Northeast Texas Beef Improvement Organization (NETBIO) is a group of independent cow/calf producers and agribusiness representatives working together to enhance the beef industry in Northeast Texas. NETBIO works in conjunction with the Texas A&M- Commerce and the AgriLife Office in Sulphur Springs.

C Bar Ranch is one of our favorite places to go! This is a weekend trip but you can come for a day or stay for the weekend. We are planning a Halloween Costume Parade Practice in the neighborhood of Whispering Oaks Farm & Ranch!! Our purpose is two-fold… to discuss Standard Parade Requirements, and to have some FUN while exposing all horses to parade activities!! After you turn from Hwy 1529, look for the 40SC Banner and turn right into the large Outdoor Arena entrance. Come early, be ready to ride out, and start our Parade Discussion by 10:00AM sharp. Then, we will ride out on Parade Route at 11:00AM. Please, no delays and lack of preparation. We want to see you in your best Costume and full attire! We are planning to have neighbors judge all entries!! WE WILL HAVE PRIZES!! And probably go afterward into Cooper for late lunch!?

We will be participating, again, in the 2nd Annual Horse EXPO at Longhorn Arena in Greenville, TX. This Expo event will include Horse Products Vendors, Sale Horse Alley, Food Vendors, Demonstrations, New & Used Tack, Stallion Exhibits, and Horse Health. Farmersville will have a booth and represent 40 Something Cowgirls!! We will also attend and participate in EXPO Demonstrations. The 2023 1st Annual EXPO was a huge success for our Chapter!! Come and participate in the family friendly gaming show. Held in the Pavilion arena @ Douglas County Fairgrounds . You can either come and watch or show. Show starts at 9 and classes cost $5 – open arena from 7:30-8:15.They will have , figure 8, individual flags and Key race. Cowhand challenge!(sorting, penning, etc). All proceeds go to Rutledge Cancer Foundation! We will have a chuck wagon lunch available for purchase . This event is a benefit. Cowgirls only will have buckles to the winning team. The open division will have a payout. 4 man teams. Pre registration is encouraged and there will be a $50.
