Franklin, NC – Secret waterfall Trail ride @ Cannon Rd, Chattahoochee National Forest
May 17 @ 9:00 am – 6:00 pm

Franklin cowgirls meet at Ingles in Clayton at 9am,   and Georgia & SC Cowgirls meet at 10:30  at forest 92E – come in on Cannon Road off Hwy 80  turn right on first forest road on right  go down turn around on loop and line up heading outward for pairking,

Secret Waterfall trail is outside the borders of the Chattahoochee – Oconee National Forest on private land which they allow hiking and horse back riding out to enjoy the beautiful beach and waterfall. We have to pack in our lunch and drinks, and pack them back out. We wil have lunch and a picnic, play in the water and swim with our horses, so bring a sheet to put down to place your tack on it to avoid getting covered in sand. Bring shorts and bathing suits and water shoes.  Dogs are allowed on these trails.  Also bring horse snacks and doggie snacks.

Meet at day parking area and ride out to Adeline or Earl’s Ford and then weave through the trails on South Carolina Side and return to parking area in the afternoon. Bring food, snacks, and plenty of water to drink. Trail dogs allowed on the trails

Kings Mountain, NC Day Ride @ Woods Ferry Recreational Area

Woods Ferry Recreational Area    Day Ride 

Meet at 9:30, ride out by 10:00. 

TrailHead is easiest found by putting Buck’s Grave Road, Chester, SC in your GPS. You will take Woods Ferry Road to get to Buck’s Grave Rd. This will take you to the gravel road that goes to the trailhead. No restroom nor water at trailhead. 

Located in western Chester County, lies within a beautiful wooded floodplain surrounded by upland pine woods and maturing hardwood forests. Some hills and a few rocky/rooty areas. Boots or shoes recommended.

Franklin NC – Round Up Meeting – Darnell Farm @ Cupboard Cafe

Darnell Farm – Meet at 12:00 pm – have a May round-up meeting. Discuss additional trail rides, donations, and sponsors. Enjoy afternoon music, fellowship, friendship, and Dream Whips

Franklin, NC – Tow String up to Cabin Flats and Charlie’s Bunion @ Tow String Horse Trailhead
May 27 @ 9:00 am – 6:00 pm

Meet at Tow String parking Area – Requires a day parking pass or a yearly pass for the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.  We will ride out Bradley Creek, cross the creek/steel bridge and head up to Cabin Flats Primitive Horse Camp. Some may go on up to reach the top of 5600+ft to the junction of the Appalachian trail to go out on the rock outcropping of Charlie’s Bunion; it is one of the most spectacular views in the park. The trail is challenging and requires a slow and steady pace. Bring saddle bags with plenty of food, water, and snacks.  The Cabin Flats group can enjoy a beautiful meadow alongside the creek to enjoy lunch before heading back out.  The Charlie’s Bunion trip is roughly a 21.5 mile round trip distance, and the cabin flats distance is about 13 to 15 miles round trip. Recommend shows on all four hooves. No trail dogs allowed in GSMNP

Franklin, NC – Tunnel RD – Bear Creek trail up to Welch Ridge trail Ride

GSMNP – Meet at the paved parking area before the tunnel parking area at 10 am. Must have yearly or daily GSMNP parking pass. We will ride out White Oak and connect up to Bear Creek Trail, ride to the top and intersect with Welch Ridge trail, eat lunch, and either follow around to Forney Creek or return down Bear Creek. Bring plenty of water, food, and horsey snacks. No trail dogs allowed

Kings Mountain, NC Day Ride @ Kings Mountain

Meet at 9:30, ride out by 10:00. $3.00 per horse.

You can put 1277 Park Road, Blacksburg, SC in your GPS, but remember you are going to Apple Road once you reach Park Road. 

This easy to moderately difficult 30+ mile loop trails begins in Kings Mountain State Park and circles into Kings Mountain National Military Park, the site of a famous Revolutionary War battle. The surface is primarily flat with some rocky areas and some clay spots. A local saddle club takes care to watch over the trails and ensure solid footing on some of the ridge climbs. Boots or shoes recommended.

Float the Green River in Saluda, NC

Let’s stay cool floating the Green River at 5200 Green River Cove Rd.,Saluda, NC. We will carpool there and arrive there by 10:00 to start our adventure. After our float which takes about 2-3 hours, we can have lunch in the cute town of Saluda or at the Tryon Equestrian Center!

Join us for camping and riding at Croft State Park. Mostly flat trails, but there are some rocks and roots so shoes or boots are recommended.
Water/Power at each campsite. Horses are stalled at the barn, separate from the campgrounds.

Kings Mountain, NC Cattle Drive @ Andora Farm

Owners Tom and Pat Seay open their home and land for a unique cattle experience. Experienced or novice welcome, you will be guided and mentored by experienced cattle driving and team penning staff.
Lots of history at this old farm, you will want to have this kind of fun without having to go west. The most awesome thing is you bring your own horse.
Power at each site. Community hose for water for your trailer. Stalls for each horse. Small bathhouse on property, but not fancy.
