This will be our largest Retreat since formation! Our fledgling Chapter has taken off and grown rapidly in the last year. We are looking forward to celebrating that accomplishment and getting to know each other better in the best environment we have to offer. Watch for our report and pictures!!

We will be having an awesome desensitizing clinic featuring Bill Richey, visit the link below to find out more about his background and website. Here is some of his bio :
Bill Richey, the founder and CEO of National Mounted Police Services is a POST certified mounted police instructor. He was instrumental in creating the mounted units for the city of Duluth, also in Forsyth and Gilmer Counties (Georgia) and training their officers and horses. He worked with Atlanta Police Mounted Unit in preparation for the 1996 Olympics and was also involved in reorganizing the unit. He was the chief instructor for Mobile Mounted Police Mardi Gras School. Mr. Richey has participated in and won or placed in every national mounted police competition he has entered. He has over 40 years’ experience as a mounted police officer or mounted police trainer, and almost as many as civilian trainer/ instructor. He has spent countless hours training officers and civilians from all over North America, the Middle east and South America, as well as their mounts, to perform safely and professionally, from the trail, to the movies, to the show ring and to Mardi Gras.
He will be teaching us how to protect ourselves when out on the trails from creepy hikers to out of control dogs! The clinic will have many obstacles that you would not normally see but once your horse builds his confidence in this course, your horse will learn to process obstacles and challenges. This will be a nice small group, so we get lots of time to work with our horses.
The $395 includes a dry camp spot, stall and the informational clinic with obstacles.
A deposit of 197.50 is due by Jan 15th to secure your spot.
Auditing is available for $20 bring a chair since there is no seating available around the arena.

This one day clinic will be headed up by Martha Peddicord at JandA Stables in Donalds SC. She will go over how different bits work in horses mouth, choosing the best bit for you and your horse, how to balance your saddle to improve your comfort and safety. Let’s ride in beautiful NC. South Mountain Park has it all. you must reserve a horse stall separately in order to stay in equestrian camp. They have bedding, water, electric. showers. Miles of trails. Negative coggins required. Shoes or boots recommended. We’ll be meeting up with other chapter cowgirls too.

The Farm Fest & Plowing Competition is the largest plowing competition on the West Coast, with 20+ teams of draft horses and mules.
See demos and meet the teamsters. Join for a day of old-time farming fun at this year’s event with Pioneer Kids’ activities, tours of the museum and 1880’s Hutchcroft School, old-time music, food and more!
Admission is $8 for adults and free for kids under 12.
This event is put on by the Yamhill County Historical Society-Yamhill Valley Heritage Center.

This is a day event put on by Extreme Trail Sports. Great for those new to the sport. Day rentals for stalls are available and should be reserved when you register but stalls will be paid for the day of the event.

Saturday Morning: In-Hand event obstacles are completed dismounted. You may be saddled, halters with leads are recommended. All non-riding equines are welcome to compete.
Saturday Afternoon: Obstacle Course is a mounted event in an area/field. A saddle (treeless included) and headstall with reins are required. All riding disciplines are welcome.
There is a variety of terrain throughout the property. The facility has gravel roads throughout. The arena has sand footing. The trails have dirt, mixed gravel, wooded area, and lots of trees.

Obstacle Course: $24-$44
In Hand: $24-$44
Continental Breakfast: $5 donation
Lunch: $8 donation for beef chili and chicken enchilada chili with chips and drinks
In addition to the registration fee paid to ETS, a $10 facility fee will be collected the day of the event to support the ranch.

This is a focused Clinic for Ranch Trail obstacles goal and execution! Nathan Wells will work you through some ground time and saddle time. Requirements for this Clinic participation is the ability to walk, trot, and lope your horse. His training will be provide a breakdown of each obstacle and the best approach to the completed pattern. This will help the confidence of beginners as well as experienced rider!! Limited space for six (6) riders. Audit is $20 per person. We have another Trail Ride Weekend organized by Trail Boss, Linda Deas. According to Linda, this is a very beautiful park to ride in and enjoy!!! You can come for the week or just to Day Ride! She will ride out at 10:30 am each day. Bring your lunch or food as needed. This Park has hookups that must be reserved at www.Reservations.gov. Please contact Linda with any questions!!

We coined the phrase “Tramping” several years ago and it stuck… for a scheduled Trail and Camping Event! Plans now to be made for your Trail Riding week(end) or just a Vacation week(end).
