We will be painting the Christmas Decor for the Coahoma park.
Meeting for the new Back Country Horseman Southern Highlands will be held in Fanklin this month at the Clarks Chapel Fire Station in the community meeting room. The meeting will start at 6:30 pm and last a couple of hours, so bring your own drinks and snacks, and note pad to take notes on important events to come. Also you can pay your dues at this meeting as well
Anyone can participate in this event so if you want to come out and ride let us know. Covered arena, plenty of parking space. If you don’t have anyone to ride with there will be plenty of us there to ride with you. Come on out and give it a try!
Meet at New Ingles Parking lot, then caravan over to Cataloochee Valley. Meet at Cataloochee Parking area by 10am . recommend shoes or boots for trails, some are rocky, believe there are water crossings. Vickie is going to show us the trails. Bring water, snacks, and lunch. I do not know length of trails.

Meet us at 10:00am and be ready to ride out by 10:30am. We will ride to Donuts R More at 101 N. Mcdonald St. STE 101, McKinney, TX 75069. After donuts, we will ride through downtown McKinney and enjoy the weather and the small town downtown atmosphere.
We will be continuing our community project of sanding and painting the Christmas decorations for the Coahoma City Park.
Come out and have breakfast with us before we gas up and head out to T Bar S Horse camp.

We pack up and head to TBarS on October 3rd!! This is one of our favorite places to camp! If you haven’t made it a point to go, you really should. We normally have so many going that we reserve the entire campsite. However, this year there were only 10 spots available out of the 16 and I believe we have filled those already. So, if you want to join us let us know and we can see if we can add you to our campsite or see if they had someone back out on their reservations.
We usually try to caravan so we will make plans for that the closer we get.

Afternoon session is for returning students of Steve’s program that are comfortable with loping, stopping, turns and more advance maneuvers. This clinic is designed to be an overall learning experience that builds on several aspects of communication, confidence, respect, trust, impulsion, and performance. The clinic is open to people of all skill levels and disciplines, beginner to advanced are welcome. We also welcome horses of all ages and breeds.

Meet at Towstring horse parking area at 9:30 – There are several options to ride long and short rides. Recommend shoes or boots. There are numerous watering holes and crossings. Bring snacks, lunch, and a lot of water. Riders can go up to Steel Bridge/Cabin Flats and back, or others can go up to Grassy Flats or higher up to Charlie Bunion or wherever they want to stop and return down the mountain.
We will be having our monthly meeting to plan for November and December. Bring all of your great ideas to share!!

Collin College Farmersville Campus is having their bi-annual “Blooming Harvest” event where we will have a “Horsey Kissy Booth” set up. Come out and check out what they have to offer and enjoy some horse kisses!!
They will have games, food, and other booths set up out there.

After the fun at the Blooming Harvest Festival at Collin College in Farmersville, meet us for lunch at Charlie’s Old Fashion Kitchen in Farmersville.
Join us for the W.E. Stampede Trail Ride at Trace Trails in Athens, TX. We will be meeting at the field at 9:30am. Bring a cooler or sack lunch and we will eat either on the trail or when we are done.

Halloween Trail Obstacle Play Day – Ridets and horses are encouraged to dress up in costumes and compete in a costume contest, practice & compete on my mountain trail obstacle course. Teams will have to participate in maneuvering through the obstacles cool, calm & collected.
$10 donation to participate and money goes into our cowgirls fund
Meet at Whetstone parking area at 10:00, we’ll saddle up ride out to Adeline and possibly cross river if super low, if not we’ll make loop and go out through Spring house, climb the ridge and head back to parking area. 5 to 6 hr ride so bring food, lunch, snacks, and a lot of water. Trails are easy to moderate in difficulty.

**For the Cowgirl Challenge Portion** Must compete in all 4 events to win the average. 3 places paid for average winners. 2 places paid per event. Limited to 20 per age group. 15 and under- $125 16-39-$175 40 and over-$175 **or $50 per event**

New added event: 2 person penning. Man, woman, or child. $30 per person. Limited to 30 teams. Pays one place for every 10 teams entered.

This sounds like so much fun!! Their costume contest will have multiple categories which will include but not limited to a couples/duo category. It would be fun to maybe come up with a group idea and blow them away with it!! Let’s take home the win!
They will have live music with 380 Acoustics, food, and WINE.
Vet Fest, serving those who served. Come on out and have some fun and support the veterans. I have been asked to have a few of us come out on horseback and ride around and talk to our vets. So, if you are interested in participating, please contact Christy at 469-682-6207.
