Friday night 6-9 PM practice to prepare for the event on Saturday. You do not have to participate in the event to come and practice with us! $35 and no membership required to participate.

Gordon County Saddle Club is once again hosting a St Jude’s Ride for Children. Event will run from 9:00 – 3:30. More details to come….Save the date! September 28th!

RIDE UPDATE: We will be joining the GAHA (Georgia Arabian Horse Association) on Oct 5th for their Fall Ride rather than riding on Sep 28th as originally planned. Ride will be at the Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers GA on Saturday, Oct 5th meeting at 9:00 in the Steeplechase Field across from the hotel and riding out at 10:00. Alisia Waxman will lead the ride. Cost is $25 for non GAHA members and $20 for GAHA members with lunch provided. There will be an endurance clinic beginning at 1:00 as well. Should be a FUN, FUN day!

Enjoy a fantastic weekend working with Carson James! Come see why Carson is considered to be one of the few with a ‘total package’ approach. He says, “Horsemanship is the one and only method that will work for every horse.” Learn how to adjust your ask and timing, better read your horse, get to your horse’s mind, and improve your relationship to obtain better results. Learn techniques to deal with most any problem and how to avoid them. Come laugh, meet new friend and become a better horseman, all while spending a weekend with your horse! What could be better?
Two days of hands-on small group sessions both groundwork and mounted.

☆Dinner with Carson: Our Saturday night Dinner will be open to ALL Pre-paid PARTICIPANTS AND AUDITORS. Participants & their companion $20 each, Auditors $25 each. Fees must be received by TBD date.
Lodging-
◇Bunkhouse lodging is available on site but space is very limited. Four bunks per room. Bring your own linens. $20/per person- per night.
◇Dry Camping – generators are welcome. $25/night
◇Hotels are available nearby in Covington, GA or Jackson, GA,

Let’s join up with Brazos Trails Cowboy Church for a trail ride at the Grasslands. The ride will start at TADRA, and we will do the yellow trail, roughly 9 miles.
Hope all can join us at Cedar Ridge Ranch in Senoia on Oct 20th at 2:00 (NOTE: Ride was pushed back to Oct 20th from Oct 5th due to our ride at Conyers Equestrian Park with GAHA on the 5th & Carson James Workshop on Oct 12th-13th). It’s a great place to ride with lots of trails. Cost is $5 and must provide proof of Coggins to enter.

Thundering Hills Ranch & Rescue presents their first annual Spook Fest. Dress up your equine partner and participate in our costume contest. Take a peaceful ride down the trails or thru the hay fields. Then try out our spooky obstacle course. We will have hayrides and games for the kiddos and kid at heart. Cozy up by the bonfire with a cup of hot cocoa or coffee with all the fixins purchased from our cocoa/coffee bar or purchase a make your own s’more at our smores bar with several options to make the ultimate smore. Browse our silent auction items, purchase some homemade goodies, take part in some awesome raffles or just come to see all the pretty horses. All proceeds go to Thundering Hills Ranch & Rescue. No rental horses will be available. We do welcome all furry friends/family members, but they must remain on a leash and be on their best behavior. Last I heard, Brandi was looking for volunteers and items for the Silent Auction. If anybody has anything to donate or goodies to bring, or a specific area you wanted to volunteer at, maybe we could volunteer as a chapter – serving hot cocoa, helping with games, etc. Let’s discuss it at our roundup meeting on Aug 27th and then notify Brandi once we come up with a group plan or individually! Introduction to Cattle at Flying M Stables in Olympia, WA, put on by Tracking Y Ranch.
Limited to 20 Spots at $90 per person. Registration is required, non-refundable payment due at registration, (refundable if vendor cancels the event)
Registration closes the Friday a week prior to the Intro to Cattle event, a minimum of 10 riders is needed or date may be cancelled (there will be one event each month, November 2024 through April 2025!)

Horse/rider will gain experience of basic cattle maneuvering skills and sorting positions in the confines of a sorting pen. Great for horses and riders new to cattle work.

Our very own 40 Something Cowgirl – Wendy Deini-Pruden – will be hosting and assisting this event. Workshop will be held on November 16th from 10:00 till 4:00.
