East Texas Stock Horse Show! Come out and show off your skills and horsemanship. East Texas Stock Horse Association has continued to provide an excellent show series and trainers. This has provided our COWGIRLS with great information and examples in the Stock Horse show pen. Come out and support your fellow COWGIRLS as they show off their skills and horsemanship!
As with any competition, interest grows and our COWGIRLS are honing their skills. Come out and cheer on our fellow COWGIRLS or participate in this great Association. Join us for a fun filled weekend. Pick your events and competition level and show off what your skills. We have a monthly Craft night on the 3rd Tuesday of Every Month. They will be held at Joy Haut’s house. We will select the craft during our Monthly Roundup the previous month, to give Joy time to get all the supplies.
January – We will be making Valentine’s Day decor – A rag garland and Gnomes.

Mustang trainers have been formally selected and invited to compete in the exclusive Mustang Magic weekend during the legendary Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo, January 18-20, 2024!
Mustangs will travel from Idaho to Fort Worth, Texas to be matched with their trainers on Friday, September 8th at 11 a.m. during The Fort Worth Mustang Show at the cattle pens on the south side of the John Justin Arena.
Mustang trainers will return January 18 to the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo Mustang Magic to exhibit their gentled mustang. The Top 10 highest scoring trainer and mustang pairs will move forward to the Saturday night’s Mustang Magic Top 10 Freestyle Finals, where they will show off their partnership for a chance to become the 2024 FWSSR Mustang Magic Champion! Adoption/Auction will immediately follow naming of the FWSSR Mustang Magic Champion
The cowgirls are headed North to Lubbock for the Wooly Winter Open Show at Texas Tech Equestrian Center. The shows starts with Halter at 8:00, and will likely last until 5:00 p.m. or later, ending with Ranch classes. Check out the following URL for more information:

You can enter just one event or all four, your choice!
Payouts for each individual event in a 3D format. Leadline 10am all events. Expos will run before every event after Leadline.
Meet from noon to 1:00 for brief business discussion/sack lunch.
1:00-4:oo will be craft time. Blank gourds will be supplied along with availability of some paints and drilling/cutting/sanding tools. Do a little research beforehand and come prepared with a design in mind. Several design books are available to help with ideas.
Come watch Mule Jumping! So much fun to watch every year! Let us know if you are coming and we will save you a seat!
The Yamhill county sheriff’s posse always puts on a great fun night with barrels and poles and multiple other games

Pattern Practice at TA Head Arena in Goldthwaite . Melissa Davis will set up/ tear down different speed patterns and we can ride the patterns how ever long we want but it is a open arena so weather permitting via rain / snow . please call before you haul . this will be a fun and social event no timers or drags but lots of fun. Bring Neg. coggins and bring a friend. great way to knock the dust off the saddle & leg up that horse or just sit and watch – go at your own speed no pressure no rush .

CWC will be hosting practice sessions on each Saturday before the show on Sunday. Youth and adult divisions include Ranch Trail, Ranch Riding, Reining, and Working Cow Horse. Competitors can enter one class or all classes in their division and have a chance to win Ranch Horse All Around Awards.

Cowgirl Jennie Vayo is setting up an opportunity for you to participate in a Night Ride Obstacle Clinic at Legacy Ranch in Lone Oak. This Clinic will be offered by Hunt County Sheriff’s Posse, under the direction of David and Terry Rogers. It is limited to ten (10) riders, so sign-up quickly. If weather is prohibitive, it will be rescheduled. Come on out… new opportunity, new experience!!
Let’s have fun with the horses on some obstacles. The church is going to have 3 events, 2 practices and the one in April will be a patterned jackpot format. The flyer can be found on Brazos Trails FB page or Poolville Chapter page.

Come join us for some really fun obstacle practice on Friday and then enter the fun jackpot on Saturday. There will be divisions depending on number entered to spread the winnings to all levels of horses and riders! We’ll have an in-hand and a riding class! Practice is from 6-10 Friday, come and go as you can. It’ll be open group practice to work on whatever you need. We will have approximately 20 obstacles to work on. Bring your babies, bring your seasoned horses. Practice in hand or mounted! We’ll be there to help you and your horse along! It’s going to be a GREAT time!!
Since we are all trying to save some $$s for one reason or another, Maria and Whispering Oaks Farm & Ranch have offered to Host a barn “Watch Party” for The American Performance Horseman. (The Globe Life tickets with any decent view are high, and their refreshments are as well.) This competition will be aired by Fox Sports 1, so check your local listings.
The greats will be in class competitions, including but not limited to, Casey Deary, Cade McCutcheon, Sarah Dawson, Andrea Fappani, Corey Cushing and Jason Vanlandingham!! There are 5 designated Teams of 3 each competing, so this will take a while. In the meantime, so much fun to be had!! Contact Maria or me for details.
