The cowgirls are attending the Sandhills Rodeo on January 12, 2024. We will meet for dinner at 6:00. The rodeo starts at 7:30.

The cowgirls are headed North to Lubbock for the Wooly Winter Open Show at Texas Tech Equestrian Center. The shows starts with Halter at 8:00, and will likely last until 5:00 p.m. or later, ending with Ranch classes. Check out the following URL for more information:

CSSHA holds Sunday afternoon practices with cattle twice a month at Lander’s LOTRA indoor arena this winter. Take advantage of practicing with cattle and a CowTrac flag for herdwork and cow horse experience from 1:00-4:00 Sunday afternoons on the Sundays listed below. (Sorry, but no roping.) If you are a member of LOTRA and CSSHA, the practice is free. If you are not a member of the LOTRA arena, it’s only $30 per person for all afternoon! (No practice if it’s zero degrees or lower on that day!) Annual LOTRA arena memberships are available at https://lotra.org.

We choose from menu items for dinner and everyone is responsible for paying for their own meals. Please RSVP to Marillyn by February 18th. You are welcome to bring family and friends!

The Old Sorehead Trade Days is an opportunity to shop dozens of local vendors.
Monthly dinner at Thai Chef Restaurant in Riverton.
Meet up at Marillyn’s house at noon and then we ride at 1pm. We go on a trail ride to find hidden ribbons that you turn in for an Easter basket. Some ribbons may get you an additional prize or an “upgraded” Easter basket!!! Marillyn will have some snacks and beverages (of course, there will be jello shots and peeps shots!!!!!) It is $25 per participant to help cover some of the cost of the Easter basket items. (You get a basket with more than $25 in value.) This is just a fun ride and day, not an extensive trail ride. You basically ride until you find a ribbon or as long as you want. We then go to my neighbor’s house and he feeds us. I will have a “new” place to ride this year. Woohoo! Please RSVP to Marillyn by March 30th so she can have enough baskets prepared. Feel free to bring prospective members, family, or friends! “Rain date” make-up ride will be April 20th.

Attending the Cody Horse Sale- Event preview on Friday and the auction is on Saturday.
Shenandoah Bar M Ranch welcomes the cowgirls to visit the Ranch during the Shenandoah Bar M open house event.
Beginning at 9:00 a.m., the public is invited to tour the facility during which time a light breakfast will be provided. Tours of the property will be given. We will ride at 12:00. As a group, we can decide whether to do an arena ride, obstacle course, trail ride, or all three!
Our monthly dinner will be at the Midvale Store at 6:30pm!

Pop Tab Challenge- Save your pop tabs, soup can tabs, pet food can tabs, etc! We will have a weigh-in at the end to see who collected the most! The tabs will go to the Ronald McDonald House in Salt Lake City.

Have you always struggled to get your horse to work a gate? Is your horse seasoned at working a gate, but has gotten impatient or pushy? Is your horse great at working a gate, but you would like to add a little finesse? Join this free mini-clinic to add a some swag to your style!
Come join us for a fun day of being introduced to Competitive Mounted Orienteering! Kathy is very graciously donating her expertise and time to help us gain a peek into this fun event!
There will be a 2 hour basic reading, navigating, etc.
Short lunch break
Then we saddle up and head out into the woods to navigate and find 4 plates!
What to bring: Your own lunch, drink and a horse. Yeehaw!
Kathy wants to provide us insight into this fun sport. You can ride as a team or individually and compete through the year if you desire.
Please do RSVP by June 30th to Kathy so she will have a head count. Currently, there is no limit to the number of riders, but as she gets an idea of how long the list may be, there may be a waitlist needed. So check in with her early!
