Let’s get our ride on at Jen’s. We will meet at no0n, bring something to eat or snack on and something to drink. There are oil field roads and some could be rocky. If your horse is barefoot, you will probably want boots for your pony. The terrain is mostly sand except the roads. Wonder what kind of critters we might see?m

CSSHA holds Sunday afternoon practices with cattle twice a month at Lander’s LOTRA indoor arena this winter. Take advantage of practicing with cattle and a CowTrac flag for herdwork and cow horse experience from 1:00-4:00 Sunday afternoons on the Sundays listed below. (Sorry, but no roping.) If you are a member of LOTRA and CSSHA, the practice is free. If you are not a member of the LOTRA arena, it’s only $30 per person for all afternoon! (No practice if it’s zero degrees or lower on that day!) Annual LOTRA arena memberships are available at https://lotra.org.

Trail Boss, Linda Deas, has organized another weekend for Trail Riding. Plan will be to ride out each morning at 10:30am. This site has pens, electric and water. Come help gather the cows at Mildred Kanipe Park. Sam Campbell will be there to help organize the gather. Boots in the stirrup at 10am, so arrive early to tack up and warm up your horse if needed. A trail ride after for those that would like to participate.
Annual Wine and Food Classic will have some of your returning favorites and some new producers, including 50+ of the regions best wineries, chefs, bakers, breweries, distilleries, artists, artisans and musicians. All proceeds go to support children’s education.

Jump on your horse or mule and have some fun while also helping to maintain the trails at Big Mineral. Bring some loppers and a snack. Big Mineral is a pretty rugged ride with some fairly steep hills. Its not rocky though and your steed can go barefoot. Also, theres no fee to ride there.
IT’S THAT TIME AGAIN!!!!
We are so excited to head out for our retreat at Train Robber Ranch for the 3rd year in a row!! Wonderful time had for all!
Once we get closer to the date we will figure out a place to meet and caravan for those who want to. Otherwise, we will meet you all down there.
This is a private retreat with limited spots available so let us know if you are interested in joining us. We will be leaving on Thursday, April 11th to head down there and coming back on that Sunday. The cost will be divided between everyone who signs up to go.
We always plan meals for dinner so that everyone can pitch in and bring something. We will plan this as we get closer as well.

This will be our largest Retreat since formation! Our fledgling Chapter has taken off and grown rapidly in the last year. We are looking forward to celebrating that accomplishment and getting to know each other better in the best environment we have to offer. Watch for our report and pictures!!

The Farm Fest & Plowing Competition is the largest plowing competition on the West Coast, with 20+ teams of draft horses and mules.
See demos and meet the teamsters. Join for a day of old-time farming fun at this year’s event with Pioneer Kids’ activities, tours of the museum and 1880’s Hutchcroft School, old-time music, food and more!
Admission is $8 for adults and free for kids under 12.
This event is put on by the Yamhill County Historical Society-Yamhill Valley Heritage Center.

Lets beat the heat with another lake day!! We’ll meet at Walnut Creek Marina where Misty will pick you up on her boat for a Redneck Cruise. Bring snacks to share for a picnic on the boat.
Bring your digital camera or smart phone and find the top surveyed answers to questions to chose from along the trail. Compete as an individual.
Riders out at 9-11 am. Riders will leave in intervals and Ride route is 2 -2 1/2 hours long. Finish by 2pm. Intervals intended to control congestion on the trails.
Riders must return to later than 2pm to turn in their results. Prizes awarded after 2pm.
Bring your lunch; lemonade, water and treats provided.
Shoes for horses are recommended. Children are encouraged to wear helmets and dogs must be on a leash.
Entry Fees: $30 per rider; under 12 years of age $10. cash or check. Day use park parking fee is $5; or purchase an annual permit. *Join OET at this event with the purchase of a single or family membership and recieve one free entry to this event. (Memberships will include 2025; annual memberships are: single $30, family $35).
Prizes Awarded: For individuals with the most points awarded in the Survey, for First, Second, and Third Place. Judges decisions are final. There will also be raffle prizes. Each entrant receives a raffle ticket for this drawing.

We will be invading the Lazy TK for the weekend for our chapter retreat.. This is an exclusive chapter event…
Jen and James will be working a few cows and they will let us come out and play.
Come on out for a weekend of celebrating Jesus! Plus, horseback (trail riding and obstacle course), some fellowship, testimonials and a devotional on Sunday.
Please bring proof of a negative Coggins prior to off-loading horse on ranch property. Check in will be @ 2pm on Saturday 26 Oct 2024, check out will be @ 2pm on Sunday 27 Oct 2024. Primitive camping only. You may bring a generator and panels. Lori will assign meal items to bring for supper on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday.
