Volunteer Services for Hot Mess Horse and Animal Rescue – Cowgirls have been asked to assist with fencing and animal care. We are meeting at the rescue on Old Murphy Road. All materials are on site for the fence repair, which is needed to separate the horses from the cows, goats, and alpacas. Laura Thornton has offered to pay and declined payment since earning and fundraising for horse rescues is very difficult. We are honored to show cowgirl generosity and compassion to the owner and these deserving animals. We welcome cowgirls and their families to donate time and services to this amazing rescue in the heart of our community

Calling all Cowgirls, We are bringing our horses to the VA hospital for some outside therapy for our favorite group of veterans. If you are interested, please only bring a CALM horse… The horses will be groomed, walked out and loved on, no riding. ALL Cowgirls are encouraged to join us, especially if you are not bringing a horse, we need hands on the ground.. Please wear pink button downs, hats optional…We will park in the back west end parking lot…
Our monthly meeting that usually falls on today’s date will be scheduled for next week 🙂 Today, we will be heading out to Caliber Equine LLC in Quinlan for a tour and demonstration of a couple things they have to offer.

If anyone is interested in volunteering for western heritage day at Hardin-Simmons, they are looking for people to show kids how to rope (like 1st graders). In the past HSU students who don’t know how to rope have helped but they’d love to have “real cowgirls/boys” come to show how it’s done.
It is Thursday April 25th 8 am- noon. Over 2000 kids are already signed up.
Other western things to show the kids are also open for suggestion. The six white horses will have a farrier working on them for one of the stations.

Trott on over to Riverside Ranch on Saturday, June 15 to join the Mule Skinners club on a 9 mile trail ride filled with scenic water crossings, thick forest, terrain, quick elevation changes as well as natural and man-made obstacles.

Directions: North on 9th St, go 1 mile, Left on Heritage Hills Rd, then follow the signs to TE Ranch.
$10 per hand or 3 hand for $20 (minimum one hand per rider)
Minors (under 18 yrs old) need a parent or guardian signature.

First riders out at 9am ; Last riders out at 11am.
Grand Prize is $200
Additional prizes -Must be present to win.
Cost $30 per rider, kids under 10yrs is $10 (includes ride, one raffle ticket, and lunch)
There is a new parking area this year, just down the road from last year’s location. “We have updated the ride so you will not have to ride on logging roads and will stay in beautiful forest and fields.”
No smoking, No alcohol, No stallions, foals, or dogs.
Horse shoes are highly recommended.

Annual trail ride fundraiser by Equine Community Resources to provide lost cost gelding assistance. This event is our most fun ride of the year. Beautiful/stunning views!!
Saturday is a 10-mile obstacle trail challenge with awesome prizes. Sunday is an easy fun poker ride with many more prizes.
BBQ and raffles available both days.
Meet at 4C at 7:30 we will load up in the truck, or multiple vehicles and go see the Christmas lights around town!
