Wonderful group of gals and guys , family fun , and great way to work on new patterns and bond with your horse and enjoy something new.
Macon County Horse Association Spring Fun Show. 10 a.m. at Fairgrounds. There will be all the normal fun show activities plus speed events. Come out and play with your horses and challenge yourself with these fun games. There will be a concession stand with food & drinks so remember to bring cash. I would suggest lawn chairs, coolers with water & drink, snacks, and plenty of stuffed hay bags. You can even bring pop-up shade tents.. contact me or Lynda for info and/or directions. If you need a ride and pick up your horse let us know.

The YWCA Victims Advocacy Center is hosting their 1st Annual Heroes and Heels event in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness month. The event will take place on September 28th at Bunning Hall Freight Station from 6pm-10pm and will feature local heroes.

Join us at Leatherman Lane to celebrate horses and help raise money to battle Breast Cancer. Annual event that features various vendors, food, live music and of course horses. There is a planned trail ride!!!!One of our charities we support Cleveland County Hearts and Hooves, will be there to highlight there important work with our awesome participants from North Shelby School, Shelby, NC. Join us as we kick off the winter series of Wild West Outlaws Gymkhanas, on October 26, 2024 in the indoor arena at Sweetwater Events Complex. Entry fees are $10 per event. Great way to keep your horses in shape thru the winter months. Same as last year, earn points for end of season awards. Call Susan Nichols for more information.

Thundering Hills Ranch & Rescue presents their first annual Spook Fest. Dress up your equine partner and participate in our costume contest. Take a peaceful ride down the trails or thru the hay fields. Then try out our spooky obstacle course. We will have hayrides and games for the kiddos and kid at heart. Cozy up by the bonfire with a cup of hot cocoa or coffee with all the fixins purchased from our cocoa/coffee bar or purchase a make your own s’more at our smores bar with several options to make the ultimate smore. Browse our silent auction items, purchase some homemade goodies, take part in some awesome raffles or just come to see all the pretty horses. All proceeds go to Thundering Hills Ranch & Rescue. No rental horses will be available. We do welcome all furry friends/family members, but they must remain on a leash and be on their best behavior. No stalls will be available for this event so please plan accordingly. Current coggins must be presented upon check in NO EXCEPTIONS! Brandi Colvin Drew
Last I heard, Brandi was looking for volunteers and items for the Silent Auction. If anybody has anything to donate or goodies to bring, or a specific area you wanted to volunteer at, maybe we could volunteer as a chapter – serving hot cocoa, helping with games, etc. Let’s discuss it at our roundup meeting on Aug 27th and then notify Brandi once we come up with a group plan or individually! As Rhonda Martin would say, this is going to “EPIC”!
We are planning a Halloween Costume Parade Practice in the neighborhood of Whispering Oaks Farm & Ranch!! Our purpose is two-fold… to discuss Standard Parade Requirements, and to have some FUN while exposing all horses to parade activities!! After you turn from Hwy 1529, look for the 40SC Banner and turn right into the large Outdoor Arena entrance. Come early, be ready to ride out, and start our Parade Discussion by 10:00AM sharp. Then, we will ride out on Parade Route at 11:00AM. Please, no delays and lack of preparation. We want to see you in your best Costume and full attire! We are planning to have neighbors judge all entries!! WE WILL HAVE PRIZES!! And probably go afterward into Cooper for late lunch!?
Join our cowgirls as we attend a Scavenger Hunt on horseback in the Uhwarrie National Forest.
Event to benefit Back Country Horsemen o Uhwarrie in their goal to keep the trails open to equestrians .

The Fox Parade of Lights is a beautiful way to bring in the Christmas season! Join us as we light up our horses for a bright and festive parade!
Details as we get closer to the event.
Join us for our 3rd Annual Santa’s Country Christmas ride! Parking will be in the adjacent parking lot to the location. Please be saddled and ready to go by 6:30pm. There are exotic animals and loud music playing so please make sure your horse will tolerate it. There will be cars following us through the display.

Join us for the Wylie Christmas Parade! Let’s show our Christmas spirit and decorate our horses! We will be parking in the vacant grassy lot off of Birmingham st. We NEED designated manure scoopers for the parade. We also will need a volunteer to carry our chapter banner.
Join us for dinner after the Wylie Christmas Parade! It has been a tradition for 3yrs now to have tacos after the parade! There is parking at the back of the parking lot or in the Burger King parking lot next door.
