Caney Mountain Horse Camp in approx an 8 hour drive from Fort Worth. There are numerous videos on YouTube featuring Caney Mountain and all that it has to offer. It will be magnificent with all of the Spring foliage. This is a great opportunity to challenge yourself and your mount. They have guides and trails for all levels of riders. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN RESERVATIONS. There is a restaurant at the camp. It is near Big Flat. You will see a sign that says Leatherwood Wilderness and another sign that says 1118. Directions are on their website campsites are $30.00 per night no hook ups available generator only. uncovered stalls are $10 per night covered are $20 Water is available and there is a bath house.

Trails that run along the Lynches River. Sandy and flat terrain, no shoes nor boots necessary.
Each campsite has two horse corrals, as well as power and water. There is a bath house in the campground as well.

Robbinsville Community Coggins clinic for Graham and surrounding counties. Dr. Jessica Scruggs, DVM will provide services. cowgirls will assistance horse owners and Dr. Jessica. We provide all advertising, forms, chairs, canopies, and tables, and will assist with paperwork and handling of horses. Bring your big trailers for comfort and bathroom facilities. This is another community volunteer project so I hope all you cowgirls can come. Please wear your Cowgirls shirts or pink shirts to represent out 40SC chapter

She will go over how different bits work in horses mouth, choosing the best bit for you and your horse, how to balance your saddle to improve your comfort and safety. Let’s ride in beautiful NC. South Mountain Park has it all. you must reserve a horse stall separately in order to stay in equestrian camp. They have bedding, water, electric. showers. AM will cover basic dressage/flatwork foundation needed for WE and any discipline you ride. PM will cover select obstacles used in WE and proper way to execute them and how to link them together as when riding a course.
Jim welcomes both western & english riders. Whether your horse is under saddle or still in the ground work stages of training, Jim is very well versatile and knowledgeable.
Come prepared to answer the question, “What do you want to learn/work on?” Jim wants to help you with your goals and that is why he does one hour one-on-one sessions.
A one hour session with your horse is $160.
If you chose not to bring a horse there is a $25 per day audit fee. Clinic participants are welcome to audit all riders sessions at no additional charge.
Sessions start at 9am and go until 5pm, with a one hour lunch break from noon to 1pm.
Participants must prepay in advance to reserve their spot.
Green River 40 Something Cowgirl, Kari Moneyhun, has teamed up with Sara Lowe of Sagebrush Training to offer a two-day confidence clinic focusing on ranch and trail obstacles. These clinic are fun, encouraging, and full of laughter. Sagebrush Sara works on building each rider up and strengthening your relationship with your horse.
Cost is $400 for the two day clinic. Current 40 Something Cowgirl members get a 10% discount!

Farmersville will be attending The 2nd Event in a Progressive Series of Liberty Training presented by East Texas Liberty and hosted by Sherri Gerstenkorn. Each Clinic session is $150. Audit is allowed at $50 per person and will give you a birds-eye perspective of the process! If this is a success and more interest is created, Sherri may offer this Series on a Monthly basis in conjunction with East Texas Liberty. Please feel free to contact Sherri!

Defensive Pistol 1 is the class to get you started in concealed carry
Working from the holster, we go thru presentation, sight picture, trigger press, and stance. The same as Basic Pistol, except now we are learning the difference between cover and concealment, different types of reloads, malfunction clearance, and shooting while moving, Class requires pistol, 2 Magazines at least, holster, magazine pouch, ear and eye protection, 250 rounds, snacks, and drinks. A camp chair is not a bad idea either.

We have been invited to camp, horseback ride and enjoy! This is the 57th Annual Little George and Lucy Havens Memorial Cowboy Camp Meeting. They have RV hookups, dry camping and will have some places for us to put our horses. There are quite a few planned activities for the camp for us to join in on if we choose. There is lots of land for us to explore, a tank for fishing, and other activities. This is going to be a great weekend for fellowship and building friendships. This is a family friendly event. Key Sheep Springs Horse Camp Regulations
- Bring only weed-free certified hay. (No local forage available.)
- Horses must be kept in stalls provided, and may not be tethered or picketed outside of stalls.
- Quiet Hours extend from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
- Prevent the spread of invasive pests by obtaining firewood locally.
- Fires are only permitted in designated fire receptacles and must be attended. Fires must be extinguished upon departure.
- Pets must be kept on leash and attended at all times.
- Secure food and scented items from bears.
We coined the phrase “Tramping” several years ago and it stuck… for a scheduled Trail and Camping Event! Plans now to be made for your Trail Riding week(end) or just a Vacation week(end).
