Directions: North on 9th St, go 1 mile, Left on Heritage Hills Rd, then follow the signs to TE Ranch.
$10 per hand or 3 hand for $20 (minimum one hand per rider)
Minors (under 18 yrs old) need a parent or guardian signature.

Come join us for a fun day of being introduced to Competitive Mounted Orienteering! Kathy is very graciously donating her expertise and time to help us gain a peek into this fun event!
There will be a 2 hour basic reading, navigating, etc.
Short lunch break
Then we saddle up and head out into the woods to navigate and find 4 plates!
What to bring: Your own lunch, drink and a horse. Yeehaw!
Kathy wants to provide us insight into this fun sport. You can ride as a team or individually and compete through the year if you desire.
Please do RSVP by June 30th to Kathy so she will have a head count. Currently, there is no limit to the number of riders, but as she gets an idea of how long the list may be, there may be a waitlist needed. So check in with her early!

There is a new parking area this year, just down the road from last year’s location. “We have updated the ride so you will not have to ride on logging roads and will stay in beautiful forest and fields.”

Horse shoes are highly recommended.

Come join us for a fun and relaxing evening out at the Bull Creek Cowboy Church outdoor arena from 7:00pm-9:00pm. We can set up barrels, poles, or you can just spend time in the saddle with a relaxing ride as the sun goes down. The view of the sunset is absolutely amazing out there! If it is raining, chances are it will be canceled so if in doubt call before you haul. You can call Christy at the number listed above.

ABOUT THE VENUE
This event will take place at two different locations. On Friday, The Trail Ride will be at the Richland Horse Park, connected to the WE Johnson Preserve. The Preserve has 236 acres of trail riding, including equestrian-specific parking, natural and constructed horse skill obstacles, updated signage and landscaping, a trail obstacle course and jump area. It has easy access from Hwy 240, local accommodations, shopping and restaurants nearby.
Those of you needing to check in on Thursday for camping and stalls at the Franklin County Saddle Club will be able to do so. We are also looking into dry camping opportunities at WE Johnson for Thursday night. More information will be available as we get closer to the event date.
On Saturday and Sunday, the In-Hand and Mounted obstacle portions will be held at the Franklin County Saddle Club. The Franklin County Saddle Club has 4 lighted arenas, onsite trail course, wash rack, indoor stalls, 24 RV campsites as well as dry campsites, bathhouse with showers.

EVENT DETAILS
The 40Something Cowgirls and the Purple Sage Riders of the Back Country Horsemen are again collaborating on this event! We hope you’ll join us for a fun weekend!
*On Friday, we’ll start at WE Johnson for a fun Trail Challenge (TC) – a relaxing trail ride with judged obstacles along the trail and possibly in camp. All riding disciplines are welcome..
*Saturday, we will have in hand in the morning, followed by a mounted Obstacle Course in the afternoon.
Sunday, we’ll have a mounted Obstacle Course in the morning.
In Hand (IH) – a dismounted event in an arena/field, halter and lead rope preferred. All equines welcome – any size, breed, and age.
Obstacle Course (OC) – a mounted event in an arena/field. A saddle (treeless included) and headstall with reins are required. All riding disciplines are welcome.
THE TERRAIN
At the Horse Park: Course is dirt with some wood chips and light gravel in areas. Most trails are wide and easy. There may be some rocks, gravel, and potential water The trail is designed to be beginner safe. Please, you know your equine and your choice is best. Barefoot, booted or shod.
At the Saddle Club: Excellent dirt footing in all arenas, Onsite trail course is dirt with wood chips some light gravel in areas.
MEALS
Meals are on your own. There are several restaurants nearby and delivery services such as Uber Eats and Door Dash that will deliver to the Saddle Club and Richland Horse Park. We are also looking into getting a food truck or two onsite. We will update you as the event gets closer.
Saturday night, we hope you’ll join us for a fun potluck in the Club House. Main dish will be provided, please bring your favorite side or dessert.

Star Rider Club – You will earn a beautiful kilt pin adding copper, bronze, silver, and golden star charms as you progress through the levels. This kilt pin will come with an Equine Trail Sports iron-on patch to attach it to. Rider Points accumulate no matter which equine is ridden.
