First show is March 16.   There will be a cow practice on Friday starting at 4.   Bring your trainer or just practice following a cow.    Each cow is $20.

We have added a MUSTANG group!    We have continued the walk trot division.

We have reduced the office fee to $15 per family.

Show starts at 9.   You may sign up Friday night or just use this easy jotform.

And show registration will begin on that morning at 7.

There will be 3 judges for each course.

This class is to help educate on what to do in different emergency scenarios. We will be discussing what to do and what not to do. What gear to have for example what to keep in a bag in your vehicle if it breaks down on the side of the road. What to keep in your house if the power goes out. If this sounds like something you want to learn come out to Coal Train Coffee Depot and check it out!

Caney Mountain Horse Camp in approx an 8 hour drive from Fort Worth. There are numerous videos on YouTube featuring Caney Mountain and all that it has to offer.  It will be magnificent with all of the Spring foliage.  This is a great opportunity to challenge yourself and your mount.  They have guides and trails for all levels of riders.  YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN RESERVATIONS.   There is a restaurant at the camp. It is near Big Flat.  You will see a sign that says Leatherwood Wilderness and another sign that says 1118. Trinity Trail Events founder Maral Eckenrod will conduct an instructional clinic on how to navigate the mountain trail obstacles at Flying M Stables, which were built by Mark Bolender of Bolender Horse Park.  If you trail ride or have thought of competing at a Novice, Intermediate, or Advanced Level of Equine Trail Sports events (ETS) or other obstacle challenges such as IMTCA events (International Mountain Trail Challenge Association), here is where you can start!  Maral will lead us through how to acclimate your horse to the obstacle, navigate it properly, and what judges are looking for.

Trinity Trail Events also conducts virtual challenges using just a few items (ground poles, tarp, cones, flag, spray bottle) that you may have at home.  You will receive the pattern and have a window of time to practice and video you and your horse navigating the obstacles, submit your video to Maral, who will judge it, provide comments if you want, and award prizes, including buckles. TTE has Novice, Intermediate, Advanced and Easy Peasy patterns to get you started in this field!

Depending on sign-ups for the clinic, the plan is for 2 hours of In-Hand instruction and practice and 2 hours of mounted instruction and practice.  If more than 12 horse/rider pairs sign-up, then it may be changed to 2 groups, with 1 hour each of In-Hand and Mounted work.

Cost: $60 per horse/rider pair, includes haul-in fee of $35 ;  $5 per auditor

ABOUT THE VENUE

Umatilla Sage Riders is conveniently located on Hwy 395 near Hermiston, Oregon close to the majestic Columbia River and the site of the Lewis and Clark Trail. Umatilla Sage Riders has a clubhouse, arena and trail course on site. Dry camping is available and you may bring your own pen or containment system.

The clubhouse kitchen will be open for light breakfast items and lunch.

A potluck is planned for Saturday evening.

EVENT DETAILS

Friday evening will be a fun Extreme Cowboy Trail Challenge sponsored by Umatilla Sage Riders. It will be set up so everyone will enjoy the competition. This is not an Equine Trail Sports event and scores will not go towards National or Regional events.

Saturday Obstacle Course (OC) – a mounted event in an arena/field. A saddle (treeless included) and headstall with reins are required. All riding disciplines are welcome.

Sunday In Hand (IH) – a dismounted event in an arena/field, halter and lead rope preferred. All equines welcome – any size, breed, and age.

Payment for ALL Amenities reserved at the time of online registration are due ON SITE and are NOT collected at the time of online registration. There will be a $10 a day haul in fee for anyone not camping.
