Come join the Laurens Club memorial for Mr Shull, spring ride. Primitive camping, generators allowed. Steak dinner on Saturday night with entertainment. Sandy road trails mostly. Pens or high lines for horses. Negative coggins required.
Time to start riding, cowgirls! We have a team for the 2024 Virtual Tevis Cup ! To get on the roster, we need your name, current 40SC member number and the bib number assigned to you through the sign up link below, in addition to the total mileage ridden. If you do not have a horse, you can also participate by walking/ running the 100 miles.
You can screen shot the app with your mileage, in addition to the sign up response with your bib number. There will be one roster for this event!

Caney Mountain Horse Camp in approx an 8 hour drive from Fort Worth. There are numerous videos on YouTube featuring Caney Mountain and all that it has to offer. It will be magnificent with all of the Spring foliage. This is a great opportunity to challenge yourself and your mount. They have guides and trails for all levels of riders. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN RESERVATIONS. There is a restaurant at the camp. It is near Big Flat. You will see a sign that says Leatherwood Wilderness and another sign that says 1118. Directions are on their website campsites are $30.00 per night no hook ups available generator only. uncovered stalls are $10 per night covered are $20 Water is available and there is a bath house.

We are so excited to head out for our retreat at Train Robber Ranch for the 3rd year in a row!! Wonderful time had for all!
Once we get closer to the date we will figure out a place to meet and caravan for those who want to. Otherwise, we will meet you all down there.
This is a private retreat with limited spots available so let us know if you are interested in joining us. We will be leaving on Thursday, April 11th to head down there and coming back on that Sunday. The cost will be divided between everyone who signs up to go.
We always plan meals for dinner so that everyone can pitch in and bring something. We will plan this as we get closer as well.

Trails that run along the Lynches River. Sandy and flat terrain, no shoes nor boots necessary.
Each campsite has two horse corrals, as well as power and water. There is a bath house in the campground as well.

Large meadow for parking big rigs. Trails are mixed high desert, two-track and cow trails with a few sections of volcanic rock. Gentle roling elevation changes. AERC organized endurance ride (fees are dependent on distance: 25, 55, 75) with a 10 mile introductory trail ride.
Come out and join us at San Angelo State Park before the heat gets here… Trails for all level of riders. Bring your favorite dish for Saturday night pot luck dinner… All are welcome..

Topics covered include self-awareness, intention and energy use, equine anatomy and health evaluation, feeling and influencing the cranial rhythm, and rebalancing the cranial bones. This is a focused Clinic for “Building Confidence Through Better Horsemanship”! Nathan Wells will work you through some ground time and saddle time. Requirements for this Clinic participation is the ability to walk, trot, and lope your horse. His training will be improvements in horsemanship within each gate. This will help the confidence of beginners as well as experienced rider!! Limited space for six (6) riders. Audit is $20 per person. Robbinsville Community Coggins clinic for Graham and surrounding counties. Dr. Jessica Scruggs, DVM will provide services. cowgirls will assistance horse owners and Dr. Jessica. We provide all advertising, forms, chairs, canopies, and tables, and will assist with paperwork and handling of horses. Bring your big trailers for comfort and bathroom facilities. This is another community volunteer project so I hope all you cowgirls can come. Please wear your Cowgirls shirts or pink shirts to represent out 40SC chapter
This clinic will be in a large parking lot at Midway Tire and Automotive 185 Sweetwater Rd, Robbinsville, NC
We will meet at Hot Spot in Franklin or New Ingles and convoy over the mountains.

Trinity Trail Events founder Maral Eckenrod will conduct an instructional clinic on how to navigate the mountain trail obstacles at Flying M Stables, which were built by Mark Bolender of Bolender Horse Park. If you trail ride or have thought of competing at a Novice, Intermediate, or Advanced Level of Equine Trail Sports events (ETS) or other obstacle challenges such as IMTCA events (International Mountain Trail Challenge Association), here is where you can start! Maral will lead us through how to acclimate your horse to the obstacle, navigate it properly, and what judges are looking for.
Trinity Trail Events also conducts virtual challenges using just a few items (ground poles, tarp, cones, flag, spray bottle) that you may have at home. You will receive the pattern and have a window of time to practice and video you and your horse navigating the obstacles, submit your video to Maral, who will judge it, provide comments if you want, and award prizes, including buckles. TTE has Novice, Intermediate, Advanced and Easy Peasy patterns to get you started in this field!
Depending on sign-ups for the clinic, the plan is for 2 hours of In-Hand instruction and practice and 2 hours of mounted instruction and practice. If more than 12 horse/rider pairs sign-up, then it may be changed to 2 groups, with 1 hour each of In-Hand and Mounted work.
Cost: $60 per horse/rider pair, includes haul-in fee of $35 ; $5 per auditor

We love to ride and this weather is great for a Sunday afternoon ride! The park entry fee is $7. Meet at the Cross Timbers trail head, ride out at 2. The trail is 7ish miles, so typically a 2 hour ride.
SPRING 2024 PLAYDAY SERIES includes barrels, poles, 2 pole stake race, and straight away barrels.
Age divisions: Lead Line, 0-8 years, 9-13 years, 14-18 years, 19-30 years, and 31+ years

Wylie Chapter is having a captain’s meeting for the teams that are participating in the Wylie Chapter Cowgirl Challenge.
