If anyone is interested in volunteering for western heritage day at Hardin-Simmons, they are looking for people to show kids how to rope (like 1st graders). In the past HSU students who don’t know how to rope have helped but they’d love to have “real cowgirls/boys” come to show how it’s done.
It is Thursday April 25th 8 am- noon. Over 2000 kids are already signed up.
Other western things to show the kids are also open for suggestion. The six white horses will have a farrier working on them for one of the stations.

Limited to 20 Entries! Pre-enter text 940-923-8123. This is a great schooling opportunity for you and your horse! After each class the Judge will go over the score card with you and share ways you can improve. Events: Ranch Trail, Ranch Riding, Ranch Reining, Ranch Flag. Classes: Youth 10 U, Green Horse, Beginner, Novice. All day flat fee $50. All proceeds will go towards Western Women of Inspiration women’s ministry. Parade starts at 6:30pm. Judging starts at 6:00 so please give yourself enough time to make lineup. Parade attire, leather western tack and coggins required please.

Abilene State Park is hosting a guided trail ride. Please consider this is not a free range 40 Something Cowgirls guided ride. Please know they plan to ride out at 9:00am so come early. Can’t wait to see y’all there!

This will be a 2-hour ride. You will need to bring your own horse and show your Coggins. We’ll meet and unload at the swimming area parking lot.

we will meet in the parking lot, just east of the First Methodist Church in Stanton, TX. Meet at 9 AM be in your saddle ready to go no later than 9:30 AM, parade starts at 10 AM and will be done by 11 AM.
Standard parade gear. We will have a truck for those who won’t ride a horse! Bring a stool or camp chair for the bed of the truck.
