Come join us for a Ride. Location will change each month. This will be a location within 1-3hrs from Greenwood. We will ride for 2-4 hours and maybe have lunch after. Come and join us for as much or as little as you want. Some cowgirls may only ride an hour and others longer!

Join us for an 8 mile ride around Benbrook lake over the creeks and through the woods. Not a challenging terrain. Be saddled and ready to ride at 11:00. We look forward to seeing you there.
Cowgirls will be attending the Douglas County Mounted Posse meeting. This is another equestrian group in the area, and we attend so we can also help support their efforts in the horse community here.

Wavra’s Indoor Winter Market runs every Saturday through March 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the farm, 7882 Jordan St. S.E. It’s off Highway 22 just southeast of Salem.

Our Charlie Elliott ride got rained out for Sat (Jan 6th), so we will be riding on Sunday at Dauset Trails at 2:30. Hope all can make it. Hopefully, it won’t be too wet as trail tends to dry pretty quickly there.

Dance Recital at the Lyman High School.
Join us for a ride in the woods on beautiful lake Benbrook. Be saddled and ready to ride by 11:00. Some nice ups and downs with some rocky spots. Normally a 2-3 hour ride, approx 6-9 miles. You can easily turn back early & not get lost. It’s an out & back. We look forward to seeing you there.

Dust yer boots off and join us for line dancing at Workmans bar and grill. No experience necessary they provide instruction and teach two dances. Dancing starts at 7 pm but we are meeting at 6 to get food and drink

The Kenda Lenseigne Clinic is fully booked, but you’re invited to observe and volunteer if you’re interested.
Alternative if it rains is the Opelousas Covered arena, 13 miles from the V-Cross ranch.
East Texas Stock Horse Show! Come out and show off your skills and horsemanship. East Texas Stock Horse Association has continued to provide an excellent show series and trainers. This has provided our COWGIRLS with great information and examples in the Stock Horse show pen. Come out and support your fellow COWGIRLS as they show off their skills and horsemanship!
As with any competition, interest grows and our COWGIRLS are honing their skills. Come out and cheer on our fellow COWGIRLS or participate in this great Association. Join us for a fun filled weekend. Pick your events and competition level and show off what your skills. Monthly clinics are held the Friday before the Show weekend, so make sure you attend to learn what the judges are looking for at that weekend show.

Grand Entry 1/27 Rutledge at 11 am performance arrive by 9:00 with long sleeve white shirt, black vest.
Grand Entry 1/29 Military Appreciation night- black vest and white shirt- we will provide red bandannas

***GE walkover with police escort is 1 hour prior to performance
*** all performances need pink wraps on front legs and pink wild rag unless otherwise stated.

It’s Roundup time again Cowgirls! Let’s eat some really good pizza, have a drink, make merry and discuss all thinks horsey and plan some shenanigans to get into.
The cowgirls are attending the Sandhills Rodeo on January 12, 2024. We will meet for dinner at 6:00. The rodeo starts at 7:30.

FULL PARADE ATTIRE!!!!!!
Please have your 40SC pink blouse, 40SC black jacket, black felt hat or helmet, fuchsia wild rag, blue jeans. Horse needs 40SC black saddle pad, pink polo wraps. Depending on weather you can layer under parade attire. Gloves to be handed out at parade if they are to be used.
Please have your waivered filled out and either back to your Queen or mail them to FWSSR. I have placed the link below for you. They are due by Nov 30th, NO fax or email entries will be excepted. More information as it comes to us will be posted!
- All parade participants must review and sign a Participant Release Form. Release Forms must accompany the organization’s application at time of submission.
- Participants must carefully read and abide by all Parade rules.
- Health Papers: All horses and other equine are required to have proper health papers to participate in the parade or enter staging area. Riders must be in possession of health papers at all times. See ” Official Health Requirements” as provided in the application information for mandatory health requirements on horses and other equine.
