Regular monthly meeting at noon, bring a sack lunch.
Crafting from 1:00-4:00pm. HELLHAT day!!! Start gathering your supplies (helmet, brim, hatband). It is so much more fun making these if you have a group of crazy cowgirls sharing tips on construction,
Regular monthly meeting/sack lunch noon to 1:00
Tentative craft for the day will be Horseshoe art…..embellish with wire, feathers, beads
Large meadow for parking big rigs. Trails are mixed high desert, two-track and cow trails with a few sections of volcanic rock. Gentle roling elevation changes. AERC organized endurance ride (fees are dependent on distance: 25, 55, 75) with a 10 mile introductory trail ride.
Social gathering, guests and public welcome. Music and adult beverages available. A great way to cool off after our weeks of unbearably hot weather, chat with our cowgirl sisters, and make plans for when/where our next trails rides will happen.
3-day liberty and bridleless clinic provided by Gamilah Unbridled and Modern-Day Horsemanship. Is is their only clinic on the West Coast this year (were just in Canada and Texas). If it is too late to sign up with your horse for the 3 days, they do offer auditing for $35/day.
*if you are unfamiliar with Gamilah Unbridled, it was a journey cross country and documnted on FB. Patrick rode his Arabian mare bridleless (and she was a rock star even in city traffic) to bring awareness to his charity for underprivileged kids…..and kinder treatment for our horses.
Hosted by Fiesta & Cowboy Gathering, A weekend of ranch style, big loop scored roping, stockhorse competition, dutch oven cooking, and so much more!!
We have all been wanting to do this for several years and finally decided to set a date. Dinner is served at 6:00, costs $45 CASH. We plan to leave Prineville at 4:00 for the 2 hour drive down to Silver Lake. Looking forward to enjoying the famous food that they serve.
Annual trail ride fundraiser by Equine Community Resources to provide lost cost gelding assistance. This event is our most fun ride of the year. Beautiful/stunning views!!
Saturday is a 10-mile obstacle trail challenge with awesome prizes. Sunday is an easy fun poker ride with many more prizes.
BBQ and raffles available both days.
Best rodeo of the year as all the finalist meet and compete for year end awards. Our cowgirls try to go this every year since we live so close, but I remember many fun road trips with other 40SC groups when I lived in the valley. You don’t want to miss this one.
Celebrating the arrival and Fall, and a touch of Halloween, this month’s gathering will be focusing on plans for the holidays. Anyone is welcome to attend the meeting and get acquainted with our cowgirls.
The public is invited to come play on the posse’s trail course with prizes for the best costume (awarded at NOON).
Divisions: 12 and under, 1-17, and 18+ Top costume in each division wins $50!
Register at the clubhouse as you enter the property and signn a waiver before unloading your horse. Potable water and restrooms are available, but bring your own chair and food.
Our last meeting for this year. We will finalize holiday dinner plans and look at winter riding options.
A holiday celebration instead of a meeting for the month of December. Spouses are invited and always add a bit more gaiety to our annual Christmas dinner. White Elephant gifts range from cute, to practical, to utterly ridiculous….but always highly exciting when “stealing” is the name of the game.
I will have more details to share as the event gets closer.
