TrailHead is easiest found by putting Buck’s Grave Road, Chester, SC in your GPS. You will take Woods Ferry Road to get to Buck’s Grave Rd. This will take you to the gravel road that goes to the trailhead. No restroom nor water at trailhead. 

Located in western Chester County, lies within a beautiful wooded floodplain surrounded by upland pine woods and maturing hardwood forests. Some hills and a few rocky/rooty areas. 

Meet at 10:00, ride out by 10:30.

Lady Splipper and Lake Russell trails are nestled amongst the beautiful foothills of Northeast Georgia. Meeting at the end of the road of Cannon Rd, which is just past Frady Branch Equine main trail parking.

*******: Directions: HWY 441 South towards Toccoa, turn left and then next left onto 17/365/123, go down to right light of HWY 184./123, then left just past Highway patrol station onto Hwy 184 go past Frady Branch’s main parking area about a mile to 2 miles and then we will turn right onto Cannon Rd and follow it down to end.

Meet at Whetstone parking area at 10:30, we’ll saddle up ride out to Adeline and possibly cross river if super low, if not we’ll make loop and go out through Spring house, climb the ridge and head back to parking area. 5 to 6 hr ride so bring food, lunch, snacks, and a lot of water. Trails are easy to moderate in difficulty.

Meet at Whetstone Parking lot at 10:30, we’ll cross the river at Earls Ford into Georgia and ride entire big loop on Georgia side. We’ll follow river trail from Adeline and back down to Earls for crossing back over river back into South Carolina and back to parking area. Bring tons of snacks, lunch, and water. Shoes recommended on Ga side, trails are easy to moderate difficulty.

Franklin cowgirls meet at Ingles in Clayton at 9am,   and Georgia & SC Cowgirls meet at 10:30  at forest 92E – come in on Cannon Road off Hwy 80  turn right on first forest road on right  go down turn around on loop and line up heading outward for pairking,

Secret Waterfall trail is outside the borders of the Chattahoochee – Oconee National Forest on private land which they allow hiking and horse back riding out to enjoy the beautiful beach and waterfall. We have to pack in our lunch and drinks, and pack them back out. We wil have lunch and a picnic, play in the water and swim with our horses, so bring a sheet to put down to place your tack on it to avoid getting covered in sand. Bring shorts and bathing suits and water shoes.  Dogs are allowed on these trails.  Also bring horse snacks and doggie snacks.

Franklin, NC – Tow String up to Cabin Flats and Charlie’s Bunion @ Tow String Horse Trailhead

  • Meet at Tow String parking Area – Requires a day parking pass or a yearly pass for the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.  We will ride out Bradley Creek, cross the creek/steel bridge and head up to Cabin Flats Primitive Horse Camp. Some may go on up to reach the top of 5600+ft to the junction of the Appalachian trail to go out on the rock outcropping of Charlie’s Bunion; it is one of the most spectacular views in the park. The trail is challenging and requires a slow and steady pace. Bring saddle bags with plenty of food, water, and snacks.  The Cabin Flats group can enjoy a beautiful meadow alongside the creek to enjoy lunch before heading back out.  The Charlie’s Bunion trip is roughly a 21.5 mile round trip distance, and the cabin flats distance is about 13 to 15 miles round trip. Recommend shows on all four hooves. No trail dogs allowed in GSMNP

Come join our chapter at the amazing Gillespie Ranch in New Mexico.  This is a true working cattle ranch sitting on 30,000 acres in the Lincoln Nation Forrest.  There are limited spots available, so make reservations as soon as possible.  Full hook ups with covered stalls.  Yes, it’s in July, but bring a sweater or hoodie, you are in some higher elevations… Trails for all levels of riders…. All Cowgirls are welcome…

Please contact Joelle to RESERVE your spot and time. Certified equine dental team Barbara Brooks and David Kelly will be performing teeth floating and sheath cleaning. Cost is $100 for Teeth/Sheath or if you just need Sheath it’s $30. Please bring CASH or CHECK for payment, as well as some extra cash for our Boot for our two charities! We are keeping this a MEMBERS only event, unless we can’t fill all our time slots. So if you have a friend that needs this service, let Joelle know so we can put them on our reserve list.
This event will be held at Donna and Tim Frye’s farm, plenty of parking, complete pull through. Use 2455 Charlotte Hwy., York, SC in your GPS. When you arrive, use the entrance to the pasture with the gate. Do NOT go down the private drive to the home.

Short loop – Deep Creek up to Martins Gap over to Indian Creek Trail and back to parking area approx 10 miles, trail good footing, need shoes or boots some rocky areas, has water crossings/watering holes.

Long Loop – Deep Creek up to Martins Gap around to Thomas Divide and down to Indian Creek Motor Trail to Stone Pile back across and back to the parking area, approx. 18 miles

 

We can adjust the trails and the start time. Make sure you have the GSMNP parking decal, lunch, water, snacks, and horse treats. We recommend horse shoes or boots.

Big Creek is up on the NC and Tenn border on the far eastern edge of the GSMNP . We will meet up will cowgirls in your local vicinity and caravan over to parking area and meet around 10am.  make sure you have parking decal or daily parking pass. Franklin, NC – Big Indian Trail Nantahala National Forest

Meet at 10am at Hurrican Creek Parking Area. We will travel up into Nantahala National Forest to Western section of Standing Indian. Make sure everyone has a GPS tracker, and recommend shoes or horse boots. Bring plenty of water, snacks, and lunch.

Meet at NorthSide of Fontana Damn Horse parking at 10am, ride out to Lakeshore and go east towards the Hazel Creek Campsite 90 and have lunch and venture back out. Bring tons of water, snacks, and lunch for a beautiful Sunday ride. Remember this is the western portion of the GSMNP and you will need a parking pass. No dogs allowed.
