The Caddo National Grasslands WMA is located in Fannin County about 70 miles northeast of Dallas near Bonham. From Dallas take US 75 north for 35 miles to the SH 121 exit going to Bonham, another 35 miles to Bonham, and then about 15-20 miles northeast of Bonham to the WMA. SH 121 connects to US 82 at Bonham. Stay on US 82 18 miles to Honey Grove.
Caddo is a Federal Park Property. You can purchase a Lifetime Senior Membership Discount Card at www.Reservations.gov, or several others to pick from!

Join us for Amy Weber’s Birthday and tackle the Hot Chocolate Run at Fair Park in Dallas!! Amy has completed this a couple of times and has good advice. Sign up early and take advantage of early sign-up Discounts… by December 3rd for best discount!! If you do not want to participate, you can come, shop at the Vendor Expo, and cheer others at the Finish Line. You should also know, parking is very crowded. Get there early and be prepared. I had the opportunity to hear him at a Lazy TK Ranch event in Breckenridge a couple of years ago. Such a fun Cowboy gentlemen with stories to tell. Volunteer Services for Hot Mess Horse and Animal Rescue – Cowgirls have been asked to assist with fencing and animal care. We are meeting at the rescue on Old Murphy Road. All materials are on site for the fence repair, which is needed to separate the horses from the cows, goats, and alpacas. Laura Thornton has offered to pay and declined payment since earning and fundraising for horse rescues is very difficult. We are honored to show cowgirl generosity and compassion to the owner and these deserving animals. We welcome cowgirls and their families to donate time and services to this amazing rescue in the heart of our community

The Farmersville Cruisers will be traveling from East Texas to Galveston together for some shopping, eating, and fueling along the way. Arrival is planned for ??? Trouble is just beginning!!!
Trail ride at the back side of Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest, exploring new areas and trails. Lady Splipper and Lake Russell trails are nestled amongst the beautiful foothills of Northeast Georgia. Meeting at the end of the road of Cannon Rd, which is just past Frady Branch Equine main trail parking.
Cowgirl Jennie Vayo is setting up an opportunity for you to participate in a Night Ride Obstacle Clinic at Legacy Ranch in Lone Oak. This Clinic will be offered by Hunt County Sheriff’s Posse, under the direction of David and Terry Rogers. It is limited to ten (10) riders, so sign-up quickly. If weather is prohibitive, it will be rescheduled. Come on out… new opportunity, new experience!!

Day trail ride at Frady Branch – Chattahoochee National Forest, Toccoa, Ga. – 14.5 miles of trails and four separate loops to explore. Meet at the trailhead parking area at 10 am. There is a
$ 5-a-day use fee which you can buy a yearly pass from USDA Forest Service. Bring lunch, snacks, and drinks. See ya on the trail
Meet at Hurricane Creek Parking Area at 10am, and we will ride out up Hurrican Creek or to Albert Mountain. Bring plenty of drinks, snacks, luft, and horsey treats. Standing Indian National FOrest is off Hwy 64 Between Franklin and Hayesville. Contact Tammy for any questions
Since we are all trying to save some $$s for one reason or another, Maria and Whispering Oaks Farm & Ranch have offered to Host a barn “Watch Party” for The American Performance Horseman. (The Globe Life tickets with any decent view are high, and their refreshments are as well.) This competition will be aired by Fox Sports 1, so check your local listings.
The greats will be in class competitions, including but not limited to, Casey Deary, Cade McCutcheon, Sarah Dawson, Andrea Fappani, Corey Cushing and Jason Vanlandingham!! There are 5 designated Teams of 3 each competing, so this will take a while. In the meantime, so much fun to be had!! Contact Maria or me for details. Bring your favorite chairs and dress as needed for the barn and weather!!

Playday Series dates include March 2 & 16, April 6 & 27, May 11 & 25, and June 15 & 29. High point Buckles will be given for each age group! **MUST ATTEND 6 OUT OF 8 PLAYDAYS IN THE SERIES TO QUALIFY FOR END OF SERIES AWARDS.**
Cost is $10 per Class or $40 for 5 Classes. Payment due in Cash or Zelle.

Day trail ride off Cannon Rd & FR 92E- Chattahoochee National Forest, Toccoa, Ga. – meet at 10am, saddle up and head out exploring the endless trails, waterfalls, and forest roads. Bring lunch, snacks, and water. Dogs allowed in this area. Trails are easy and shoes not needed here.
Farmersville will be attending a Progressive Series of Liberty Training presented by East Texas Liberty and hosted by Sherri Gerstenkorn. Each Clinic session is $150. Audit is allowed at $50 per person and will give you a birds-eye perspective of the process! If this is a success and more interest is created, Sherri may offer this Series on a Monthly basis in conjunction with East Texas Liberty. Please feel free to contact Sherri!
Meet at Whetstone parking area at 10:30, we’ll saddle up ride out to Adeline and possibly cross river if super low, if not we’ll make loop and go out through Spring house, climb the ridge and head back to parking area. 5 to 6 hr ride so bring food, lunch, snacks, and a lot of water. Trails are easy to moderate in difficulty.

Meet at Whetstone Parking lot at 10:30, we’ll cross the river at Earls Ford into Georgia and ride entire big loop on Georgia side. We’ll follow river trail from Adeline and back down to Earls for crossing back over river back into South Carolina and back to parking area. Bring tons of snacks, lunch, and water. Shoes recommended on Ga side, trails are easy to moderate difficulty.

This is a focused Clinic for “Building Confidence Through Better Horsemanship”! Nathan Wells will work you through some ground time and saddle time. Requirements for this Clinic participation is the ability to walk, trot, and lope your horse. His training will be improvements in horsemanship within each gate. This will help the confidence of beginners as well as experienced rider!! Limited space for six (6) riders. Audit is $20 per person. Robbinsville Community Coggins clinic for Graham and surrounding counties. Dr. Jessica Scruggs, DVM will provide services. cowgirls will assistance horse owners and Dr. Jessica. We provide all advertising, forms, chairs, canopies, and tables, and will assist with paperwork and handling of horses. Bring your big trailers for comfort and bathroom facilities. This is another community volunteer project so I hope all you cowgirls can come. Please wear your Cowgirls shirts or pink shirts to represent out 40SC chapter
This clinic will be in a large parking lot at Midway Tire and Automotive 185 Sweetwater Rd, Robbinsville, NC

Macon County Horse Association Spring Fun Show. 10 a.m. at Fairgrounds. There will be all the normal fun show activities plus speed events. Come out and play with your horses and challenge yourself with these fun games. There will be a concession stand with food & drinks so remember to bring cash. I would suggest lawn chairs, coolers with water & drink, snacks, and plenty of stuffed hay bags. You can even bring pop-up shade tents.. contact me or Lynda for info and/or directions. If you need a ride and pick up your horse let us know.
This will be our largest Retreat since formation! Our fledgling Chapter has taken off and grown rapidly in the last year. We are looking forward to celebrating that accomplishment and getting to know each other better in the best environment we have to offer. Watch for our report and pictures!!
