Back Country Horsemen Of Texas are hosting this annual New Year’s Day Ride. You can come for the weekend or just the day. Bring a potluck dish to go with the black eyed peas for lunch. The only fee is for the park. If you’re staying overnight, make sure you make reservations in advance. Coggins are checked at the park entrance.
Let’s meet at Parker Bowie arena in Iva SC and enjoy a winter ride. Bring lunch and drinks. Ride out at 11am.
Equine Health & Emergency First Aid
Our most comprehensive, and popular, course! Join us for a one day course covering: what your vet needs to know, conditioning a horse to accept treatment, taking vital signs, dealing with lacerations, punctures, colic, choke, collapse, casting, shock, hoof issues, recognizing pain in the horse and pain source identification, injury prevention and so much more! All attendees receive a certificate of completion and first aid manual.

Cowgirls we’re going to ride Saturday at Fell Hunt Camp, 1369 Cedar Springs Rd, Bradley, SC. You can start either at the Fell camp or from Toni Vonruden’s house 181 Tuck Rd, Bradley SC., at the top of the trail. Camp if you like, primitive. 10$. We will have a chili dinner at Toni”s when we arrive there. If you’re leaving from campground, be ready to ride at 11am. Join our Marvelous Mavericks riding the trails around the lake at Abilene State Park.
Check in at the office to show proof of negative coggins, and pay the $5/person park entrance fee.
Make a U-turn around the office and go back out to the highway. Go Left for 1 mile. Lake entrance is on the right. We park near the swimming area or in the first boat ramp parking lot.
The trail is a 2 hour ride. Bathrooms are close to parking. Yes, there are areas where you can water your horse.

Hickory Creek WMA is a beautifully rugged, fun place to ride. The trails are now well marked and clear. You DO need a conservation pass to ride there, unless you already have an OK hunting or fishing license.
We’re honoring the life of a great Cowgirl. We’ll be having her favorite trail ride lunch after, bologna sandwiches. I think someone is smoking a bologna. So bring a potluck dish to share.
Joins us on a lovely trail ride w/Terrie @ Rafter L ranch. She will also have obstacle course available after trail ride.
Ranch Pizzeria is a great place for a late lunch in Coleman too. See you there!

This one day clinic will be headed up by Martha Peddicord at JandA Stables in Donalds SC. She will go over how different bits work in horses mouth, choosing the best bit for you and your horse, how to balance your saddle to improve your comfort and safety. “Chisholm Trail” on the G-C Ranch. The ride starts at 10:00 A.M. sharp. Lunch is provided, drinks
will be furnished. Porta Privies will be available.
It is recommended the horses be shod for this ride.
Negative Coggins required-no exceptions. Cost is $30 for adults, $10 for students, and kids under 12 are free.

Hickory Creek is a fun, beautifully rugged ride with lots of hills and scenery. You will need a conservation pass if you don’t already have an Ok hunting or fishing license. You can purchase one through an OK Outdoors app on your phone and just show the game warden that if you get stopped.
Abilene State Park is hosting a guided trail ride. Please consider this is not a free range 40 Something Cowgirls guided ride. Please know they plan to ride out at 9:00am so come early. Can’t wait to see y’all there!
