It’s that time of year… Coggins and vaccines will be offered. Come out and help support the Howard County Youth Horseman Club… Please call or text 806-786-7122 and reserve a spot… All are encouraged and welcomed..
Rendezvous is a state sponsored event put on by Back Country Horsemen of Washington that is open to the public. This is a non-riding event. We offer educational classes, shopping, social and informative events and seminars. There are no fees for anything other than the Saturday nights catered dinner and the on-site camping. Large meadow for parking big rigs. Trails are mixed high desert, two-track and cow trails with a few sections of volcanic rock. Gentle roling elevation changes. AERC organized endurance ride (fees are dependent on distance: 25, 55, 75) with a 10 mile introductory trail ride.
Come out and join us at San Angelo State Park before the heat gets here… Trails for all level of riders. Bring your favorite dish for Saturday night pot luck dinner… All are welcome..

Chris Wickliffe, DVM, will explain the importance of being prepared and safe during your horse shows, and how to ensure a good experience for both rider and horse.

Come out and enjoy watching some amazing people from the Rustic Farm group put on a de-spook clinic. All spaces for the actual clinic are taken, but it will be a fun time to watch. All Cowgirls are welcomed and needed to be on the ground to help where needed. Cowgirl gear please. BYOB, a snack, and a lawn chair if wanted.

Come join our chapter at the amazing Gillespie Ranch in New Mexico. This is a true working cattle ranch sitting on 30,000 acres in the Lincoln Nation Forrest. There are limited spots available, so make reservations as soon as possible. Full hook ups with covered stalls. Yes, it’s in July, but bring a sweater or hoodie, you are in some higher elevations… Trails for all levels of riders…. All Cowgirls are welcome…
3-day liberty and bridleless clinic provided by Gamilah Unbridled and Modern-Day Horsemanship. Is is their only clinic on the West Coast this year (were just in Canada and Texas). If it is too late to sign up with your horse for the 3 days, they do offer auditing for $35/day.
*if you are unfamiliar with Gamilah Unbridled, it was a journey cross country and documnted on FB. Patrick rode his Arabian mare bridleless (and she was a rock star even in city traffic) to bring awareness to his charity for underprivileged kids…..and kinder treatment for our horses.

Each day, participants will receive 2 one on one sessions with their horse. Due to the individualized teaching, they welcome participants of all skill levels. Their niche is liberty and bridleless riding, but participants are welcome to use their sessions as they’d like.
This clinic will end with liberty games Sunday Afternoon!
Cost: Participants $675 for 3 days, Auditors $35 per day.

It’s that time of year again, end of summer… Please join us we have a “glow up” ride in the pasture at Queen Terri’s house. Bring all your glow sticks and glowing accessories for you and your horse…Bring your favorite dish to add to the pot luck dinner that will be at 8pm, and we will ride out at dark… Over night stay is available, but, please contact Queen Terri for arrangements….All are welcome…

Finally, we will ride a complete Ranch Riding pattern to put what we learned into practice.
Cost is $125 for cowgirls; $150 for others. Cash or checks only made payable to Lori Hadley. PM Lori for payment details. Haul in is included.

Stephenville chapter has invited a licensed firearms / safety instructor to give us some tips and information about personal safety. She will go over many things including how to use what you have in a horse trailer as a safety instrument. This is very important as we do not live in a safe world. She will charge $75 per person payable that night cash or check. It’s worth it ladies!! Please invite friends … they don’t have to be 40SC … it’s important information!

Stephenville chapter is doing an overnighter at the NRS Event Center and bunkhouse. Ride the grasslands Saturday 10/5…shopping at NRS…dinner in Decatur and ride Sunday 10/6. Then head home. Calling all Cowgirls…. Come join us for the final Long Ear Benefit ride. This will be the final trail ride that benefits the Ben Richey Boys Ranch in memory of the founder, Bob Grice.. It’s all primatve camping, but there is water troughs for horse, port-a-potties and showers for humans. 3 hot chuck wagon style meals served on Saturday with an auction Saturday evening. Sunday morning breakfast and worship services for anyone wanting to attend. All are welcomed, and encouraged to attend.
