Green River, Wyoming – Attending Jim Hicks Clinic

Jim welcomes both western & english riders.  Whether your horse is under saddle or still in the ground work stages of training, Jim is very well versatile and knowledgeable.

Come prepared to answer the question, “What do you want to learn/work on?”  Jim wants to help you with your goals and that is why he does one hour one-on-one sessions.

A one hour session with your horse is $160.

If you chose not to bring a horse there is a $25 per day audit fee.  Clinic participants are welcome to audit all riders sessions at no additional charge.

Sessions start at 9am and go until 5pm, with a one hour lunch break from noon to 1pm.

Participants must prepay in advance to reserve their spot.

Come join us for dinner and a time to discuss upcoming events. This meeting will be a great time to brainstorm the Harvest Obstacle Course fundraiser we would like to have. Please come with your thinking hats on. Bring along other ideas of things you would like to do as a group! Remember, it can be anything–doesn’t have to include the horses.

Also, ya might want to bring cash for the raffle drawing. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5.

Come join the Newberg Cowgirls for their 4th Annual Prize Ride Saturday September 21, 2024.  There will be over a $1,000.00 in prizes – grand prize, tack, home decor and more!!!

Join the 40 Something Cowgirls as they test their artistic abilities.  At this event we will be painting a cute “Ostrich”.  The event will be held at Sante Fe Southwest Grill on September 26, 2024 from 6pm to 8:30pm.  The $35 ticket includes everything you need:  2.5hrs of painting, stencils, 16×20 stretched canvas to take home, your own easel to work on, paint, brushes, aprons, and help from the artist so you can enjoy your masterpiece.

Join us as at this fun ride to help AN Issa Anderson raise money to be donated at the AHA (American Heart Association Ride). Day ride or overnight camping available, with some electric hook ups. Cost is $40 for the weekend, plus $10 per day. Stalls are available for $10 per day for smaller stalls and $15 per day for larger paddocks. Attendance for just Saturday is $30 per person. Primitive camp for the weekend or come ride just Saturday. Fourteen miles of back roads around Mount Pleasant. There will be live music on Friday night for those camping, as well as a big bonfire and karaoke on Saturday night.

Join us to watch the thrills of a Professional Rodeo presented World Champions Rodeo Alliance at Tryon International Center. Events featured will include Bronc and Bull Riding, Steer Wrestling and Roping as well as Barrel Racing. Event starts at 7:30 and tickets (according to their website) will be going on sale soon. Save the dates for the 3rd Annual “Power of Pink Barrel Race”.  The dates will be Friday October 18th through Sunday October 20th.

This is another great barrel race produced by Genesis Parker & Megan Matsuura, two members of the Green River Chapter of 40 Something Cowgirls.

A great race for a great cause, well ran, fun for the entire family, and a great time in the saddle.

90% will go back into the POT!!!!    Added Money To be announced when made available

We LOVE Leatherwood and all it has to offer, from trail riding, good food and drinks at their restaurant and now they have zip lining. Camping is available, stalls for your horses and paddocks for turnout. Small bathhouse. They also do home rentals if you prefer that! Kings Mountain, NC Camp and Ride @ Manchester Trail Riders

So much fun to be had at Manchester Trail Riders twice a year Event, that raises funds for their care of the trails and campground. The fall event features food, DJ, a band and of course Halloween (trick or treat) for the kiddos, the children are taken around the campground via tractor and trailer. All of us Cowgirls usually dress up for the Saturday trail ride too! Water and power at each site. Minimal stalls available, but plenty of areas to high line or set up portable corrals. Bathhouse on site!
We will have our Boot for donations to our two charities: Cleveland County Hearts and Hooves & Southern Paws Animal Rescue.
Reservations can be made usually about two months prior to the event.
