Estacada, OR -Attending “The Hunt for Big Foot!” Horseback Scavenger Hunt @ Horning Seed Orchard

This is an event sponsored by Territorial Riders Oregon City Chapter of Backcountry Horsemen of Oregon.

Bring your digital camera or smart phone and find BIG FOOT!! Compete as an individual or teams of 2-3.

Riders out 9am-11am. The ride route is 2-2 1/2 hrs long. Finish by 2pm. Intervals are intended to control congestion on the trail and prevent a disclosure of a “Big Foot” find. You are in competition with those in front and behind you. There are 3 ways to win. You will be given a raffle ticket at registration AND you will receive one Poker Chip Draw Card included with your registration. You may purchase up to 3 more hands for $5 each.

Riders must return no later than 2pm to turn in their results. Prizes are awarded after 2pm.

Shoes are recommended for horses. Children are encouraged to wear helmets and dogs must be on a leash. (one player per horse).

For lunch, enjoy Brats and Sauerkraut, baked beans, potato and other side salads along with the necessary condiments. Ice water and pink lemonade are provided as well.

Entry Fee: $40 per rider; children 12 and under $20. Cash or Check. Extra Poker Chip hands (maximum 3 extra) $5 each.

Prizes are awarded to individuals or teams with the most points in the hunt, for First, Second, and Third place. Judges decisions are final. There will also be poker chip draws for other wonderful prizes as well as raffle ticket prizes for the 3rd chance drawing if you dont win in the first 2 categories, you may still win a prize.

Come out and support all the contestants vying for a national title at the super bowl of High School rodeo.  Contestants will be from across the United States, 5 Canadian Provinces, Australia, Mexico, & New Zealand.  The rodeo will showcase rodeo athletes as they compete for national titles as well as scholarship over $375,00.

Along with the rodeo action there will be a trade show and food vendors.

International Day celebrates the diverse heritage of Rock Springs each July. Known as the “Home of 56 Nationalities,” different cultures are celebrated all day through food, exhibits, costumes and live entertainment. It is the only ethnic festival of its kind in Wyoming, so you won’t want to miss it! This year’s annual festival features a wide range of local, regional, and international entertainment, activities for kids, exotic foods and unique vendor items. Performers from various parts of the world provide a smorgasbord of music and dance entertainment throughout the day. Food, drinks, music, arts, crafts and more all with free admission! See you on July 13th in Bunning Park!

Rock Springs WY National High School Finals Rodeo @ Sweetwater Events Complex

Sweetwater County and the Events Complex will be hosting 1,700+ competitors from 43 US states from Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Mexico for the National High School Finals Rodeo. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to be apart of the seven days of excitement! 13 Rodeo Performances, 4 Competition Arenas, Talented Contestants, Large Vendor Tradeshow, Concessions, Queen Contest, and Shooting Competition. This is a family friendly event and all are welcome! The Tradeshow if FREE to attend.

Clackamas County Sheriff’s Posse Annual Raffle Ride – July 14th.

First riders out at 9am ; Last riders out at 11am.

Grand Prize is $200

Additional prizes -Must be present to win.

Cost $30 per rider, kids under 10yrs is $10 (includes ride, one raffle ticket, and lunch)

There is a new parking area this year, just down the road from last year’s location. “We have updated the ride so you will not have to ride on logging roads and will stay in beautiful forest and fields.”

No smoking, No alcohol, No stallions, foals, or dogs.

Horse shoes are highly recommended.

From the classic events of Saddle Bronc , bareback, the fan favorite of bull riding, and the pretty girls & fast horses of barrel racing.  Don’t forget the classic timed events of team roping, steer wrestling, and calf roping.

Pre Show events may vary but they usually have mutton busting, teen cash scramble, and the adult cash scramble.

The Estacada chapter is attending the ETS Weekend EVENT. Check it out. Let’s fill ‘er up!!

ABOUT THE VENUE: Tamarind Ranch is a 25 acre property that hosts a sand round pen, 72×31 covered area with excellent footing. 15 acres of forested trails are available for trail rides and walks. Self contained/dry camping is allowed. Personal portable corrals are acceptable and can be set up near your campsites. We offer boarding that includes 5 stalls and 5 paddocks and 1 medical bay stall and pasture board. In addition to the registration fee paid to ETS a $10 facility fee will be collected the day of the event to support the ranch.

EVENT DETAILS: This 2 day event challenge will consist of 3 events: In hand, Obstacle Trail, and Trail Challenge.

Rentals for stalls and dry camping are available and should be reserved when you register. 5- 12×12 stalls, 5- 12×18 paddocks (not covered). 15 dry camping spots. Personal portable corrals are acceptable and can be set up near your campsites.

SCHEDULE: FRIDAY: Gates open on Friday 3:00-8:00pm.;  1:00pm Early arrival check in for camping set up; 6:00pm Pizza & salad dinner will be available. SATURDAY: 7-8:30am NEW ARRIVAL CHECK IN; 9am Rider Meeting. SUNDAY: 7-8:30am NEW ARRIVAL CHECK IN; 9am Rider Meeting.

SATURDAY MORNING: In hand: the event obstacles are completed dismounted. You may be saddled, halters with leads are recommended. All non-riding equines are welcome and encouraged to compete! With at least 8 obstacles in the event.

SATURDAY AFTERNOON: Obstacle Trail: Any combination of pasture, arena, and trail (2-4 miles) with at least 8 obstacles. Multiple horses per rider may be allowed at host discretion. Please verify with the Event Manager to see if their schedule will allow for multiple horses.

SUNDAY MORNING: Trail Challenge- A relaxing trail ride with judged obstacles placed in camp and on trail. Ride at a leisurely pace with friends and family. Enjoy the sites as you improve your horsemanship skills. With at least 6 or more obstacles along the trail. One horse and rider per event. This event will take place at Jamestown/Three Beats Farm across the street from Tamarind Ranch.

THE TERRAIN: There is a variety of terrain throughout the property.

Facility: Gavel roads throughout the property and entrance

Arena: Sand footing

Trails: Dirt, mixed gravel, wooded area, lots of trees

MEALS: Continental Breakfast $5 donation accepted for breakfast goodies; Lunch: $10 donation accepted for Beef chili and Chicken Enchilada Chili with chips and drinks; Friday Dinner: $10 donation accepted for Pizza & Salad with drink

AWARDS: Ribbons For: 1st-6th place Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced; 1st-3rd place Junior (age13-17); 1st-3rd place Youngin’ (age 7-12); 1st place Newcomer!

ADDITIONAL FEES: Payment for amenities reserved at the time of online registration are due DAY OF and are NOT collected at the time of online registration. This includes: stalls, paddocks (not covered), meals, and dry camping.

Bring your digital camera or smart phone and find the top surveyed answers to questions to chose from along the trail. Compete as an individual.

Riders out at 9-11 am. Riders will leave in intervals and Ride route is 2 -2 1/2 hours long. Finish by 2pm. Intervals intended to control congestion on the trails.

Riders must return to later than 2pm to turn in their results. Prizes awarded after 2pm.

Entry Fees: $30 per rider; under 12 years of age $10. cash or check. Day use park parking fee is $5; or purchase an annual permit. *Join OET at this event with the purchase of a single or family membership and recieve one free entry to this event. (Memberships will include 2025; annual memberships are: single $30, family $35).

Prizes Awarded: For individuals with the most points awarded in the Survey, for First, Second, and Third Place. Judges decisions are final. There will also be raffle prizes. Each entrant receives a raffle ticket for this drawing.

Save the dates for the 3rd Annual “Power of Pink Barrel Race”.  The dates will be Friday October 18th through Sunday October 20th.

This is another great barrel race produced by Genesis Parker & Megan Matsuura, two members of the Green River Chapter of 40 Something Cowgirls.

A great race for a great cause, well ran, fun for the entire family, and a great time in the saddle.
