Equine Health & Emergency First Aid
Our most comprehensive, and popular, course! Join us for a one day course covering: what your vet needs to know, conditioning a horse to accept treatment, taking vital signs, dealing with lacerations, punctures, colic, choke, collapse, casting, shock, hoof issues, recognizing pain in the horse and pain source identification, injury prevention and so much more! All attendees receive a certificate of completion and first aid manual.

This clinic will cover horse physiology and psychology. Class time learning the physical attributes of the horse relating to equine vision. Mounted obstacles and sensory training with fire lines, smoke, canisters, gunfire, and more.
Cost: $100 or $115 if the clinic is relocated to a covered arena due to inclement weather. 8 hour day with lunch provided. $25 non-refundable deposit due at registration.
This clinic will be at your own pace and open to all skill levels and disciplines. You can walk your horse if you prefer.

Let’s get our ride on at Jen’s. We will meet at no0n, bring something to eat or snack on and something to drink. There are oil field roads and some could be rocky. If your horse is barefoot, you will probably want boots for your pony. The terrain is mostly sand except the roads. Wonder what kind of critters we might see?m

Volunteer Services for Hot Mess Horse and Animal Rescue – Cowgirls have been asked to assist with fencing and animal care. We are meeting at the rescue on Old Murphy Road. All materials are on site for the fence repair, which is needed to separate the horses from the cows, goats, and alpacas. Laura Thornton has offered to pay and declined payment since earning and fundraising for horse rescues is very difficult. We are honored to show cowgirl generosity and compassion to the owner and these deserving animals. We welcome cowgirls and their families to donate time and services to this amazing rescue in the heart of our community

This is a clinic ran by Matea Baabcock to help build your horse’s confidence and have fun. Learn the leadership skills needed to ger your horse crossing obstacles relaxed and willingly. You will find out how you as the rider can cultivate a strong focus and help de-spook your horse on all kinds of obstacles.
$500/rider for the weekend or $250/rider per day.

Calling all Cowgirls, We are bringing our horses to the VA hospital for some outside therapy for our favorite group of veterans. If you are interested, please only bring a CALM horse… The horses will be groomed, walked out and loved on, no riding. I have set up a clinic and campout with Robbie at his place for 40SC Members. Clinic will focus on horsemanship and communication with your horse and Robbie will work with each person on where they are with their horse. We will also work a little on trail, obstacle, flag/cow work and setting your horse up for success.
There is a hotel close if you don’t have a LQ trailer. Limited spots available so contact me ASAP to register. We will also take a run over to Teskeys for a little tack shopping as the ranch is close to Weatherford. Once we know who all is going we will do a little more planning for meals, etc.
Rendezvous is a state sponsored event put on by Back Country Horsemen of Washington that is open to the public. This is a non-riding event. We offer educational classes, shopping, social and informative events and seminars. There are no fees for anything other than the Saturday nights catered dinner and the on-site camping. Horsemanship #1 is for the green horse and/or rider that is comfortable in a snaffle bit and needs continued work. There will be NO CATTLE at this time slot.
Horsemanship #2 is for the horse and rider team that is learning to use the hackamore and beyond. This time slot involves CATTLE and ranch roping.
In vaquero riding we will learn basic movements of the vaquero riding that is appropriate for horses from first level snaffle to experienced bridle horses. Hackamore trained horses are welome! There will be NO CATTLE at this time slot.
Ranch work clinic will be learning how to work the cows efficiently and effectively. This time slot involves CATTLE.
Come out and show off your teamwork skills that you learned this weekend with your trusty steed! There will be NO CATTLE at this time slot.
3rd Annual Coggins clinic for Macon and surrounding counties. Dr. Jessica Scruggs, DVM will provide services. cowgirls will assistance to horse owners and Dr. Jessica. will assist with paperwork and handling of horses.

The 23rd Annual Northwest Horse Fair & Expo will be held at the Linn Co. Fair & Expo Center in Albany, OR March 22-24, 2023.
The event is a three-day horse fair and exposition, attracting horse owners and enthusiasts from Oregon and the surrounding states and Canada. Farmersville will be attending a Progressive Series of Liberty Training presented by East Texas Liberty and hosted by Sherri Gerstenkorn. Each Clinic session is $150. Audit is allowed at $50 per person and will give you a birds-eye perspective of the process! Jump on your horse or mule and have some fun while also helping to maintain the trails at Big Mineral. Bring some loppers and a snack. Big Mineral is a pretty rugged ride with some fairly steep hills. Its not rocky though and your steed can go barefoot. Also, theres no fee to ride there.
