wylie, TX

est. 2021

We are a fun, vibrant group of women in our 20s, 30s, 40s and beyond who share a passion for the Western lifestyle, friendship, and adventure. Based in the beautiful town of Wylie, TX, our chapter is all about celebrating the cowgirl spirit—whether we’re riding horses, enjoying local events, or just having fun together. We believe in empowering each other, making lasting memories, and embracing life with confidence, laughter, and a whole lot of heart.

Join us in Wylie, TX, where we saddle up, support each other, and live life the cowgirl way—strong, bold, and full of joy!

Welcome to the Sisterhood Series Challenge! May's theme: Honor the Journey

This year-long experience was created for one simple reason: none of us were meant to do life alone.

At 40 Something Cowgirls, sisterhood is the heartbeat of who we are. It’s showing up, lifting each other up, caring for ourselves and our communities, and choosing connection over isolation.

Each month, you’ll be invited into a new, optional challenge focused on encouragement, reflection, service, and growth. No pressure. No perfection. Loud or quiet, public or private — it all counts.

May Sisterhood Series Challenge – Honor the Journey

May invites us to slow down — not in our riding, but in our perspective.

Behind every ride, every horse, and every step forward… there’s a story. This month’s challenge is about recognizing where you’ve been, appreciating how far you’ve come, and honoring the horses and women who helped shape your journey along the way.

Participants are invited to spend intentional time riding, working with their horse, or simply being present at the barn while reflecting on the experiences that have helped them grow.

    You might share:
A horse that changed your life
A lesson learned the hard way
    A “then vs now” moment
A ride that reminded you how far you’ve come
A cowgirl who impacted your journey

    Photo ideas:
Old vs current horse photos, meaningful rides, quiet barn moments, or riding with your sisters. Remember — real stories matter more than perfect photos.

Ready to participate? Register for the May Sisterhood Series Challenge in the Wild Apricot app, then share at least one photo and your story in the 40 Something Cowgirls Facebook Group. Be sure to include your state or tag your local 40SC chapter in your post.

    This month’s affirmation:

    "I honor where I’ve been.
I respect the lessons I’ve learned.
I carry them forward with strength."

Photos shared for the challenge may be featured on 40SC social media as we celebrate the journey together.

The American Rodeo Championship Weekend returns to Globe Life Field on May 22–23, 2026, bringing the highest stakes in Western sports. Now in its 13th year, The American is the only rodeo where the world’s top champions compete across all eight disciplines while underdog Qualifiers battle for a life-changing $2 million bonus.

On Friday, May 22, GRAMMY-nominated hitmakers Midland, known for their signature blend of classic country swagger and modern polish, will light up opening night as the final Qualifier field is locked in. With chart-topping hits and a reputation for high-energy live shows, Midland sets the tone as the stakes rise and only the Top 5 Qualifiers in each discipline earn their shot at Saturday’s $2 million bonus — the final year the payout will roll over, turning Championship Weekend into a true last-chance moment fans won’t want to miss.

If you would like to purchase tickets let us know and we will collect the money and purchase tickets together as to have seating together.

What Is an Equine Dental Day?

An Equine Dental Day typically involves a licensed veterinarian or certified equine dental practitioner providing services such as:

    • Routine oral examinations

    • Dental floating (filing sharp enamel points)

    • Correction of hooks, ramps, and wave mouth

    • Wolf tooth evaluation/removal

    • Sedation (administered by a veterinarian, if required)

    • Dental charting and documentation

Dental care is essential because a horse’s teeth continuously erupt throughout life, and uneven wear can cause pain, poor performance, weight loss, and behavioral issues.

    Purpose of the Event

    • Improve horse comfort and performance

    • Prevent long-term dental problems

    • Provide convenient group scheduling

    • Reduce cost through shared travel fees

    • Educate owners about equine oral health

We will determine the dress attire for the parade but if we have a float, those of you riding on it will need your trusty Stick Ponies. (yep you read that right, stick ponies lol)

Please be there at 3:00 pm to decorate your horse. If we have a float, please be there at 4pm, on the trailer by 4:15. Judging starts at 5:00 pm. Top 3 float drawing at 5:30. Parade starts at 6.

Come on out and ride with us or stand in the crowd and cheer us on!

Afterwards, join us for dinner at either Chili's or Texas Roadhouse. So don't leave right after the parade, we will figure out where dinner will be!
