Cowgirls, if you plan on riding in the parade, please wear your long sleeve pink 40SC shirt, black cowgirl hat, pink polo wraps/ sport boots, and black saddle pad cover

We will meet at 7am @ 328 Newsome Rd (back of the school)

  • Staging begins at 8:00 a.m.
  • Parade starts promptly at 10:00 a.m.
  • Groups will not be permitted to line up after 9:30 a.m. and refunds will not be issued.

Check-In Procedures

  • All vehicles, walkers, and livestock must enter the staging area from Pioneer and Newsom. (See map below)
  • Parade officials will direct participants to staging spot.

Judging

  • All entries will receive a registration number.
  • Entries will be judged by the Mesquite Convention and Visitor’s Bureau on this year’s Stirrup Some Fun theme along with overall originality and crowd engagement.
  • The judging station is located in downtown Mesquite by Heritage Plaza.
  • 1st place winner: Trophy and swag bag
  • 2nd place winner: Swag bag
  • Winners will be contacted after the parade by phone call or email and can pick up the prize the following week.

Additional Information

  • All participants must complete the entire parade route. No cutting through side streets.
  • Parking within the staging area is restricted to vehicles participating in the parade.
  • Drop-off for walking participants is located at Newsom and Wilkinson.
  • Event Cancellation will only occur in extreme weather. Cancellation information will be posted by 7:00 a.m. the morning of the Parade on the Mesquite Parks and Recreation

  • A portable restroom will be available in front of Florence Black Elementary.
  • Please be courteous to the residents located in the staging area.

✓ Avoid using horns, whistles, music, or other loud noises

The City of Mesquite is the Official Rodeo Capital of Texas and is set to host its 68th annual Rodeo Parade on March 28th, 2026. The Rodeo Parade is a traditional celebration of Western heritage. Whether you're a local resident or a visitor to the area, the Rodeo Parade is a great event.

Parade Participation is open to businesses, community groups, local organizations, sports teams, and school clubs, livestock and more. The entry fee is $40.00. Livestock groups are welcome to participate and their entry fee is waived by contacting funmakers@cityofmesquite.com or calling Parks and Recreation Administration Office at (972) 216- 6260. 

All Floats will be judged based on their floats originality and connection the "Stirrup Some Fun" parade theme. 1st and 2nd place winners will be called at the conclusion of the parade. 

  • The parade route starts on Belt Line at Newsom, proceeding through downtown Mesquite and ending on Galloway Ave at Norwood Dr.

  • Spectators may sit along the parade route, the community is advised some roads will be temporarily closed during the event
