Division 4 Founders Award

Name   Chapter Award
1.) Lisa Routh   Newberg, OR Trophy Buckle

Lisa Routh

A true Cowgirl, with grit, determination and grace. Lisa returned to her reign as Queen this past year leading the Roseburg, Oregon Chapter. Originally a founding Queen in Washington back in 2011, Lisa rejoined the crazy cowgirl bunch and is growing her new 40SC Chapter in Roseburg like crazy. We are so happy to welcome her back to the Royal Court.

Lisa's compassion and generosity goes well beyond her Cowgirl sisters, in 2022 she entered into a giving and receiving program in order that her oldest brother could receive a much needed kidney. Although not an exact match for her brother, she was able to find a match with another person in order to secure a kidney for her brother from another donor. Lisa said "Aside from giving birth to my children this was the most rewarding thing I have done in my life".

Lisa's loyalty and dedication for our National Organization is infectious, she does truly live and breathe the cowgirl spirit no matter what challenges life presents. Her beautiful smile fills the room when she enters and the hearts around her on the trail.

We are so very proud to call Lisa a friend, a cowgirl and a Royal! and now her new nickname, in her words, 1K.

Congratulations Lisa and Thank you for all that you do, not only for 40 Something Cowgirls but for everyone around you!

1.) Lucy Whitmire   Breckenridge, TX Trophy Buckle

Lucy Whitmire

A member of the Breckenridge, TX Chapter, Lucy is the go-there, do-everything kinda gal. Athlete, fitness enthusiast, horse trainer, rancher, business owner she is pictured here on her grey gelding, her go-to horse, Hank. He is always ready to go and do whatever Lucy has in store for him.

On September 15 of this year, Lucy was in a horrific ranch accident that left her with a broken back. She is currently in a wheelchair, working full time while keeping up with her physical therapy. Her spirits are always high. She refuses to let anything slow her down, "rocking and rolling her way through this part of her life", she says.

Keeping her chin up and goals high! She aims not simply to walk again but to be back in the saddle with Hank, hitting the show ring and on the trails with her cowgirls.

Division 4 Founder's Award

Name     Chapter Award
Tootie Martin     Salem, OR  Trophy Buckle
Amy Judkins     Breckenridge, TX  Trophy Buckle

Multiple Award Winning Princess!

A Cowgirl through and through, Princess Tootie Martin has spent her life in the saddle and has been an active member of the Salem, OR chapter since it's inception in 2011. Winning awards in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and in 2019, including the Overall Hi Point Cowgirl Saddle in 2014 Tootie Martin shows no signs of slowing down.

Not surprising, Tootie has had the greatest success in Cowgirl Division 2 which is all about attending events. If you know Tootie you know how active this cowgirl is. At 76 years young, she can out ride and outlast most gals half her age.

Stepping up as Princess in 2014, Tootie continues to be her Queen's reliable right hand gal. Leading the chapter with grace and positivity she is a walking testimony of what being a 40 Something Cowgirl is all about.

Tootie's devotion to spreading the 40SC message reaches far beyond the Salem, OR chapter. She has volunteered countless hours helping chapters in Oregon grow and assisted in the formation of new Chapters in the state. She regularly attends the annual 40SC Royal Retreat and has sailed the seas with the Cowgirls on multiple Caribbean Cruises and as well as the Alaskan cruise in 2019.

Tootie's energy and enthusiasm is an inspiration to everyone around her. We are so proud to call her a friend and cowgirl sister.

Congratulations Tootie! Thank you for all that you do, not only for 40 Something Cowgirls but for everyone around you! You are a part of what makes 40SC great!

A Cowgirls Ambassador

A member since 2017, Amy Judkins jumped into her cowgirl role with confidence, spirit and a driving maternal instinct that is nurturing to everyone around her. Her passion for 40SC is unrivaled. She is inspiring, infectious and captivating.

Spending countless hours volunteering at 40SC Headquarters, Amy is always the first to jump in and help out. She travels as Ambassador for 40 Something Cowgirls spreading the message of encouragement and unification. She has a passion and understanding for our mission and often works liaison with new or struggling 40SC chapters and their members. From organizing projects, presentations at Royal Retreat, if there is something that needs done Amy Judkins is on it!

Kind, honest and bold. She understands the desire that all women carry, "to become who we truly are" and to be a part of an impenetrable tribe.   There is no doubt Amy Judkins has the love of 40 Something  Cowgirls deep in her heart.

Congratulations Amy!!  Thank you for all that you do for 40 Something Cowgirls and for everyone around you! We are so honored to call you a friend and cowgirl sister!

Robin Phillips

Grit and determination, defining the cowgirl spirit and that of this years Founder's Award winner Robin Phillips. Robin's determination to start a 40 Something Cowgirls chapter in Walterboro proved successful though not without a struggle. It was Robin's perseverance and fearless attitude that kept her going after her first 40SC Meet and Greet, when, after hours of preparation, posting flyers and making phone calls, she would be the only one that would show up for that get together.

Though tired, disappointed and feeling a bit defeated Robin was still determined, she picked herself up and started out again to form the Cowgirls Chapter she believed in and wanted for her community. When a second 40SC Meet & Greet proved unsuccessful, that did not slow Robin down, she simply scheduled another.

Success would be found at the third Meet & Greet where, after months of trying, the room finally filled with prospective members, Robin took the reins and officially launched the Walterboro, SC chapter, in June of 2015.

Since that summer Robin continues to inspire those around her to get out and keep trying. The continuous growth of this South Carolina chapter is evident of the steady message of encouragement and positivity. Robin's dedication and excitement for the Walterboro, SC Chapter and the 40SC organization is infectious, she lives and breathes the cowgirl spirit.

On or off a horse, Robin's can-do, cowgirl spirit inspires those around her to jump in, keep going and keep your chin up!  She does so with a kind heart and sense of humor. We are so very proud to call Robin a friend and a cowgirl.

Congratulations Robin and Thank you for all that you do, not only for 40 Something Cowgirls but for everyone around you!

Jodie Usher

A true Cowgirl, through and through, Jodie lives and breathes the Cowgirl spirit. Everyday Jodie sets the bar high for herself and for those around her. She is tireless in her support of her friends and family, her 40SC Chapter, 40SC Headquarters Staff and her local community.

Between raising a family and running her two kids, Shalea (14) and Cole (11) from one place to another, to another and another, Jodie manages to find the time to fit even more into her busy schedule. Jodie has been an active 40SC Queen since February of 2015 when she organized and started a Cowgirls Chapter in Breckenridge, TX. In August of 2015, we were honored to have Jodie join the team at 40SC Headquarters, where she is currently the Director of Retail Operations. In addition to her Cowgirl responsibilities, Jodie sits on the Board of Directors for the Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce and is active in the many local events and fundraisers associated with that seat. Juggling both her Chapter Queen roles and her HQ responsibilities, Jodie has attended the Annual Royal Retreat each year and is a vital part of the success of that annual event along with the Annual Royal Ranch Rodeo.

On or off the ranch, Jodie's can-do, cowgirl spirit inspires those around her to jump in, keep going and keep your chin up!  She does so with a kind heart and always a beautiful smile. We are so very proud to call Jodie a friend and a cowgirl.

Congratulations Jodie and Thank you for all that you do, not only for 40 Something Cowgirls but for everyone around you!

kay and friendsKay Eppenauer

A true Cowgirl, heart and soul, Kay Eppenauer lives and breathes the Cowgirl life everyday. On or off the ranch, Kay's cowgirl spirit inspires those around her to take part in this crazy little thing called life. Kay joined the Abilene, TX chapter in January of 2014 and in 2015 she joined the royal court by becoming one of the two Princesses for that chapter.  Working side by side with her Queen and co-princess Kay has helped grow the Abilene Chapter into the active chapter it is today. Kay also played a major role in the startup of a Cowgirls Chapter in Stephenville, TX and most recently in Midland, TX. With all this going on you still will not find Kay sitting around waiting for things to happen. Along with everything else going on in 2015 she lead the largest local fundraiser for a Cowgirls Chapter by producing the first annual 40 Something Cowgirls, 4D Barrel Race. Hoping for at least 90 runs, the Barrel race exceeded even Kay's expectations by booking over 200 runs and raising over $3000 for her chapter's slush fund. Juggling work, school, kids and 40 Something Cowgirls, Kay defines the Cowgirl Spirit and is a  true representation of what 40 Something Cowgirls is all about. Congratulations Kay and Thank you for all that you do, not only for 40SC but for all of those around you!

1) Janice Morrel Endurance, Grit & Determination  Sidekick Sisters  Graham, TX  Trophy Buckle

Janice Morrel maybe one of  40 Something Cowgirls biggest fans. A lone member from Graham, TX, Janice joined 40SC seventeen months before the Chapter in Graham, even got started. Many emails and letters of support to HQ, Janice believed one day a chapter would flourish in her tiny Texas town and in January 2014, the Sidekick Sister were born. Of course, Janice was present at the original Meet & Greet and helped elect Lola Andrews to the Royal Court. Janice continues to rally in support of her sisters and our Cowgirls organization. Despite major injuries this past year after coming off a horse she loved dearly,  Janice saddled up through the pain to support her Sidekick Sisters on rides, in parades and grand entries all the while keeping a positive attitude and entertaining those around her with her amusing dry sense of humor. Janice is a true ambassodor for our 40SC organization, currently working with potentially three new Chapters. Her giving cowgirl spirit doesn't stop with 40SC though,  Janice is actively involved in her community raising money and awareness for the annual Caleb Larson Memorial Rodeo. An event who's proceeds go straight to the Cook Children's Hospital Neuroblastoma Childhood Cancer Program. Janice is a  true representation of what the 40 Something Cowgirls spirit is all about. Congratulations Janice and Thank you for all that you do!

Our mission is to change the lives and mindsets of horsewomen around the world, fostering adventure and personal growth through positive empowerment and support. We are building a global sisterhood.

As Steve Jobs once said, "The people that are crazy enough to believe they can change the world, often do." In my heart, I truly believe we are doing just that, creating the strongest, most genuine national sisterhood.

A movement.
