Welcome to the Sisterhood Series Challenge! February's theme: Love Well--Cowgirl Style.

This year-long experience was created for one simple reason: none of us were meant to do life alone.

At 40 Something Cowgirls, sisterhood is the heartbeat of who we are. It’s showing up, lifting each other up, caring for ourselves and our communities, and choosing connection over isolation.

Each month, you’ll be invited into a new, optional challenge focused on encouragement, reflection, service, and growth. No pressure. No perfection. Loud or quiet, public or private — it all counts.

What to expect throughout the year:
    • Monthly challenges
    • Opportunities to log experiences and share stories
    • Monthly Zoom gatherings
    • Fun surprises and small rewards along the way
    • End-of-year recognition for those who walk the full journey

    This isn’t about doing more.
    It’s about doing life together.

Learn more and join the Sisterhood Series here.

Wherever you are right now, you belong here.
    Let’s rise together, cowgirls.

Hickman Springs  as been on the list for a bit now so let's bundle up and get in a weekend ride with some warm cocoa at Hickman Springs Bed and Barn.  My advice is if you are interested in this winter ride, book it now, as space is really limited.

In speaking with Marilyn here's what she shared:

"We have 8 hook ups and a 3 br/2bath house and 15 stalls. We back up to great trails in Sam Houston national forest - they are not marked so will need to use gps. Hookups are $25./stalls $5./house $200./night. We do not have room for day riders but there is parking at hunters camp not far.

Sleeping Capacity for the house is 6 this also means sharing sleep space and cost! The house sleeps 6 - one king bed, one queen bed and two twin beds.

    Hook-Ups consist of water and power only. (2) 50amps (6) 30amps

Please call / text Marilyn DIRECTLY TO SECURE YOUR SPOT let her know you're with 40 Something Cowgirls - Angleton Chapter 832.527.7064  Let her know if you need a cabin spot or RV spot and if you need a 30 or 50.  She is keeping the list not me.  :)

PAYMENT:  CASH, VENMO, ZELLE OR CHECK.  If Check, made out to Gary Ulmer

TRAIL RATING: Scale 1-5 (5 being advanced) *from what I have been told and researched, this one should be a 3-4ish, mainly flat, shaded with SOME creek crossings, logs that will need to be stepped over, mixed terrain.  Mostly sandy footing.

SO BUNDLE UP BUTTERCUPS AND LET'S GO ON AN ADVENTURE!

Just because Valentines has passed doesn't mean we can't celebrate each other and show our love of Sisterhood! with a GALENTINES SOCIAL! Combined with our monthly Happy Trails, come prepared to exchange YOUR FAVORITE THINGS with your Saddle Sisters!
Due to the nature of this "game" it is very important that you RSVP.  The deadline to register to participate in this game is Friday Feb. 20th, 2026.  This gives everyone time to shop for THEIR favorite things.  As a result, there will be cut-off for registration - if you are not on the registered list via the app by 2/20/26,  I'm sorry, but you will not be included in the game portion, but always welcome for the social aspect of the gathering!
    Here's how this goes:
FAVORITE THINGS PARTY total dollar limit to spend is $50 TOTAL FOR ALL GIFTS.
    1.  Think about what are some of  YOUR FAVORITE THINGS??
    2.  Look at the APP and check the number of people registered to attend.   THAT is the number of YOUR FAVORITE THING (S) you will purchase and gift wrap!  Bring them to the Happy Trails Social and come prepared to tell us about YOUR FAVORITE THING(s) & WHY you love it/them so much!   Not only do we get to know each other a little better, but we get introduced to new items or things that we have possibly never considered for ourselves!
EXAMPLE:  I love cute coffee mugs.  I check the App, there are 8 people registered for the event on the APP & registration is closed.  I will purchase 8 cute coffee mugs, and because the TOTAL dollar cap is $50 I will need to make sure I keep my mugs no more than $6.25 each.    OR if I like multiple things I can purchase them and keep it at $6.25 per person then I may have multiple things in MY FAVORITE GIFT BAGS FOR MY SADDLE SISTERS!     Questions just ask, but this is always such a fun game and a wonderful way to further get to know someone!   When the game is over, we will all leave with 8 gifts from our saddle sisters AND we will have gotten to know a little more about them!
Those coming from a distance, please feel free to reach out to Wendy my guest room can sleep 3-4 easily!

    See you there GALS!

Ready for a haul?! Time to load up and head to Louisiana! I've heard wonderful things about Rustic Sky.  This is considered an advance ride with all kinds of terrain.    In speaking with chapter member Martha who has been there many times here's what we know.....
Cabins available for rent (4 in a row) with horse stalls directly behind 10x10 in size or you can opt for some further down the way that are 12x12 with 1-2 cabins down the road from the 4 previously mentioned.   Cabins have a small kitchenette and bathroom. Please check when you register if you have questions about what is in the kitchen.  Details: http://rusticskyhorsecamp.com/cabins.htm
There is a Trail Guide that is available most mornings we would need to check his schedule at the main office.  Trails are not marked -
Hook-UP's When making your reservation let them know if you want sewer not all sites have sewer.  If this is important to you make sure you ask!  All other sites have electricity and water.    There is a bathhouse above the pavilion for those needing that accommodation.  http://rusticskyhorsecamp.com/campsites.htm
SATURDAY POT LUCK DINNER AND DANCING. GAMES IN THE SALOON.  Plan to participate in the potluck! http://rusticskyhorsecamp.com/pavilion.htm
    RATES: http://rusticskyhorsecamp.com/rates.htm
BOOK YOUR SPOT & tell them you are with 40SC:  http://rusticskyhorsecamp.com/registration.htm

    Additional details learned:
Will require 50% deposit upon reservation
Cabins are smaller and can accommodate 4, but 3 is a better fit unless you want to share a double bed.  RV sites are scattered around the camp due to snowbirds living there in the winter but try to get in somewhere on the “main” road which is closest to the activities and horse stalls.  RV’s are allowed to drain gray water to the ground.  They have a dump station for black water if needed.  Try to get into horse stall in Row A or C. (B is for longterm stay)

✨We can have complete access to the large pavilion for group cooking/eating if we have 15-20 people in our group.
