Welcome to the Sisterhood Series Challenge! May's theme: Honor the Journey

This year-long experience was created for one simple reason: none of us were meant to do life alone.

At 40 Something Cowgirls, sisterhood is the heartbeat of who we are. It’s showing up, lifting each other up, caring for ourselves and our communities, and choosing connection over isolation.

Each month, you’ll be invited into a new, optional challenge focused on encouragement, reflection, service, and growth. No pressure. No perfection. Loud or quiet, public or private — it all counts.

May Sisterhood Series Challenge – Honor the Journey

May invites us to slow down — not in our riding, but in our perspective.

Behind every ride, every horse, and every step forward… there’s a story. This month’s challenge is about recognizing where you’ve been, appreciating how far you’ve come, and honoring the horses and women who helped shape your journey along the way.

Participants are invited to spend intentional time riding, working with their horse, or simply being present at the barn while reflecting on the experiences that have helped them grow.

    You might share:
A horse that changed your life
A lesson learned the hard way
    A “then vs now” moment
A ride that reminded you how far you’ve come
A cowgirl who impacted your journey

    Photo ideas:
Old vs current horse photos, meaningful rides, quiet barn moments, or riding with your sisters. Remember — real stories matter more than perfect photos.

Ready to participate? Register for the May Sisterhood Series Challenge in the Wild Apricot app, then share at least one photo and your story in the 40 Something Cowgirls Facebook Group. Be sure to include your state or tag your local 40SC chapter in your post.

    This month’s affirmation:

    "I honor where I’ve been.
I respect the lessons I’ve learned.
I carry them forward with strength."

Photos shared for the challenge may be featured on 40SC social media as we celebrate the journey together.

Join us at The Kentucky Horse Park and attend the National Mounted Police Colloquium and Civilian Sensory Clinics!   The Colloquium (Tuesday through Friday) is mainly for mounted police officers and members of civilian mounted search & rescue teams and will feature clinics and the competitions. National and international instructors are brought in to instruct both police and civilians in various types of training to include: equitation, jumping, crowd control, and sensory techniques.  Training is always conducted in a controlled environment geared towards improving the confidence of both the horse and rider.

The Civilian Sensory Clinics are individual clinics on Saturday and Sunday and are feature national and international instructors who provide obstacle, sensory and equitation training for horse and rider.

There are campsites with electric and horse stalls available, as well as nearby hotels.
