Celebrate Halloween with the 40SC Kings Mountain for a full day of riding, adventure, great food, and campfire fun! Enjoy beautiful fall trails, take part in a special Revolutionary War-themed scavenger hunt, then wrap up the day with BBQ, a bonfire, and plenty of laughs.

Morning Ride & Scavenger Hunt

We'll meet at the Equine Parking Lot on Apple Road at 9:30 AM, with a 10:00 AM ride out.  I recommend arriving early to ensure a parking place--with the BCHSC there, parking maybe limited.

Halloween also happens to be the Backcountry Horsemen of South Carolina's Revolutionary War-Themed Scavenger Hunt, making it a perfect opportunity to enjoy both events during the day. Riders who wish to participate can register for the scavenger hunt beginning at 10:00 AM in the equine parking lot.

  • Scavenger Hunt Entry Fee: $25 per rider

  • Registration: Begins at 10:00 AM

  • Hosted by: Backcountry Horsemen of South Carolina

For additional information about the scavenger hunt, including rules, registration details, and event updates, please visit the Backcountry Horsemen of South Carolina website.

Kings Mountain's trails can be rocky in places, so hoof boots or sturdy shoes for your horse are recommended.

Whether you're participating in the scavenger hunt or simply enjoying a leisurely trail ride, fall is one of the best times to experience Kings Mountain State Park with fellow Cowgirls.

Evening BBQ & Bonfire

After a day on the trails, we'll head to Queen Joelle's house for an evening of BBQ, a crackling bonfire, and Halloween fun.

Bring:

  • A lawn chair

  • Your favorite flannel or cozy jacket

  • Your favorite beverage (BYOB)

Relax around the fire, enjoy great food and conversation, and celebrate Halloween with friends.

Coming From Out of Town?

We'd love to have our traveling Cowgirls join us!

Kings Mountain State Park offers an excellent equestrian campground featuring:

  • Equestrian campsites with horse corrals

  • 20-, 30-, and 50-amp electrical service

  • Community water access (not at every campsite)

  • Multiple water spigots located throughout the campground for horses

Camping is a great way to enjoy the entire Halloween weekend with the group.

RSVP

Please register through Wild Apricot so we'll know you're coming. We'll also create a Facebook event thread to share updates, coordinate plans, and answer questions. Grab your horse, your Halloween spirit, and maybe even a festive costume, and join us for a day of adventure, friendship, and unforgettable fall memories!
