"funn-est bunch of horsewomen on the planet!"

Belfair, wa

est. 2023

Welcome to the 40 Something Cowgirls – Belfair, WA Chapter, where the beauty of the Pacific Northwest meets the bold spirit of the Wild West! We’re a lively and inspiring group of women, 20s, 30, 40s and beyond, who believe that age is just a number and adventure is always on the horizon. From the lush forests to the sparkling shores of Belfair, we embrace the cowgirl way with a whole lot of heart, grit, and laughter along the way.

In our chapter, every day is an opportunity to ride toward new adventures, form lasting friendships, and celebrate the strength and wisdom that come with experience. Whether we’re trotting along scenic trails or gathering for a cozy chat, we’re here to support one another and share in the joy of living life fully. So, dust off your boots, throw on your hat, and join us as we ride into new adventures and make unforgettable memories. The trail is waiting—let’s make it ours!

Welcome to the Sisterhood Series Challenge! April's theme: Ride Into Growth

This year-long experience was created for one simple reason: none of us were meant to do life alone.

At 40 Something Cowgirls, sisterhood is the heartbeat of who we are. It’s showing up, lifting each other up, caring for ourselves and our communities, and choosing connection over isolation.

Each month, you’ll be invited into a new, optional challenge focused on encouragement, reflection, service, and growth. No pressure. No perfection. Loud or quiet, public or private — it all counts.

Beginning in April, sharing your journey will be even easier! All members will be emailed April's SSC information sheet with an update on how to post to earn your points.

What to expect throughout the year:
    • Monthly challenges
    • Opportunities to log experiences and share stories
    • Monthly Zoom gatherings
    • Fun surprises and small rewards along the way
    • End-of-year recognition for those who walk the full journey

    This isn’t about doing more.
    It’s about doing life together.

Download the Sisterhood Series Challenge information here: Sisterhood Series Challenge-April

Wherever you are right now, you belong here.
    Let’s rise together, cowgirls.

The Level 1 Class will be primarily focused towards teaching principles of safety, communication, and confidence building for both horse and rider.  This is a great class for anyone who is new or still needing foundation exercises, lacking confidence, possibly looking to not canter too much (or wanting to try cantering more), having any major issues with their horse (bucking, rearing, etc.), or themselves.  Green horses (less than 6 months of riding) should be in this class.  We recommend this class if you have not previously done a clinic with Steve.  It will run from 9:00am – 1:30pm.

The Level 2 Class will be primarily focused towards teaching more intermediate to advanced principles.  In this class we will assume that you have basic understanding of natural horsemanship groundwork concepts and techniques and are willing to have a ‘go for it’ attitude.  This class will involve advancing your groundwork techniques, body control, and riding maneuvers.  If your horse has any behavioral issues (bucking, rearing, striking, etc.), this class is not for you.  It will run from 2:00pm – 6:30pm.

*If there are not enough registered participants to have two classes, the clinic will run from 9:30am-3:00pm, with a lunch break from 11:30am-1:00pm.  If anyone requires extra assistance or guidance, this time can be extended in the afternoon.

This clinic builds on concepts that take several days to achieve.  For best results the clinic should be attended in its entirety; however, a minimum participation of 2 days is required.  If your horse is not rideable or is too you, you can participate only within the groundwork portion.

    Arena/Facility Fee:

    • $100 for the weekend

    Camping and Stalling Fees:

    • $25/night dry camping
    • $10/night pen
    • $20/night larger corral

    Accommodations:

The Chautauqua Resort & Conference Center is graciously offering a 15% discount to attendees of our clinic.  There is a restaurant and pool on site, and it is on the beach!  It offers a continental breakfast and is close to several other restaurants.  After March, they will be able to offer condo units as well!
