Welcome to the 40-Something Cowgirls of Gainesville, TX—a group of strong, spirited women who embrace the cowgirl way of life with grace, grit, and a whole lot of heart. Nestled in the heart of North Texas, these cowgirls live life with a passion for horses, wide-open spaces, and deep connections with one another. These gals ride with confidence, face challenges head-on, and support each other through every adventure.

Whether they’re competing in local events, enjoying the Texas landscape, or gathering for good company, the Gainesville chapter stands as a true reflection of strength, resilience, and the timeless spirit of the West. Join us in celebrating these incredible women who know that life is meant to be lived boldly, with boots on the ground and hearts full of courage.

    The trails at Caddo Grasslands are wooded, shady, sandy, and delightful. Its hunting season so its required to wear hunter orange somewhere on your person. Also, there is a possibility of it being closed due to govt shutdown. So check the 40sc gainesville fb page for updates before you drive out.

    Come join the Cross Timbers Equine Trail Association for their annual fall campout! Enjoy horses, friends, education, food, and fun! They've rented out the entire Blue Stem Campground for this annual event. There is a fee for this event.

    Saturday night potluck, bring a dish to share and Sunday breakfast is provided. There is a silent auction and stay tuned for clinicians.

    Come experience the beauty of Lake Texoma horseback! The trails of Platter Flats are sandy and mosty shaded. There are plenty of places to take in the view of the lake, stop for a photo op and snack, spot a bald eagle, see other wildlife, and take your horse for a swim if you're inclined.

    Big Mineral is a fun, rugged place to ride. We'll be cleaning up camp and clearing trails leading up to the campers for Thanksgiving. Don't be fooled by the words "work day". It's always a fun time to load the horses up with trimmers and saws and ride the trails looking for trees to trim and flags to mark. Bring a picnic lunch
